I believe the washers go under the les trem to give it a gap if it doesn’t have it not on top of the les trem at least thats my understanding

You are right, they have to be under the tremolo.

If you're to use the Trem system on something like a SG or LP Studio you don't need to use the washers because the body of the guitar is flat. If you have regular LP or something like a 335, basically anything archtop, then you need to use the washers in order to lift the trem up from the body of the guitar. Otherwise it won't be flush.
@@everennui1 Or if the tailpiece bushings are recessed into the wood without the flange that sits on top of the body

I did the same procedure on my Michael Schenker Fling V ..... exept to this locking tuners. But with the original bridge the les trem worked fine ....

Short answer: absolutely yes. The Les Trem beats any Bigsby by miles any day of the week: it's sleeker and smoother, it's more expressive and keeps tune better, it's less heavy and less expensive - and more beautiful, too. If your Gibson style headstock gives you trouble with tuning stability, install a String Butler, and if your tune-o-matic keeps pinging, replace it with a roller bridge. None of which is the trem's fault, but just to compensate for Gibson's obsolete designs that they refuse to update for modern playing in which guitarists _bend_ their notes from time to time. Just saying.

This demo shows why the Ibanez Quik Change tailpieces are far more versatile than the normal Gibson/Schaller stop bars: you don't need to untie your strings at the headstock! Just loosen them a bit, unhook them at the tail and put the Les Trem on or off. The Les Trem has the same top loading system, just like the Bowen Handle used to have.
I don't wanna waste a good set of strings on this experiment.
So, on which guitar am I going to test my Les Trem II?
It's got to be something with chrome top loading hardware.
My AM-50? My AR30BK? My ST50?
I think my AR30BK is the best choice, because it has an ST bridge. I can easily replace that with a roller bridge (easier than Gibraltar I and II).

That spring looks like it’s stands high from the guitar. Does the guitar still fit in a case, with no problems because of the height of the vibrato from the guitar?
Hmmm, you're right! With a little pressure, the case still locks! But it's not perfect.... Kind regards, Matt

Hallo Matthias, sehr feines video und schön gespielt. Das Trem sehr gut ins Spiel eingebaut. Man bekommt einen guten Eindruck über das Duesi. Ich will auch nachrüsten, frage mich aber, ob die Roller Bridge absolut notwendig ist. Habe ne schöne, alte Klampfe und will nicht zu viel modernisieren.

Hi bro, I installed this tremolo and also a rolled bridge on my Ephiphone Wilshire p90 however the tuning is not stable at all. Any time I push/pull the tremolo it goes out of tune dramatically specially on G and D strings. Any advice? Did you modify the nut? Or something else?

So, how good is this to make dive bombs and other forms of trem abuse? I'm quite interested in making John Cipollina kind of tremming, but i don't want to get out of tune.
Hmmmm, you can hear it in the first 10 seconds. It's not bad, but not made for dive bombs!

I put a Duesenberg Les Trem II on an Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy. I like it, but I'm trying to figure out a way to take a little off of the spring so that the arm sits a bit lower. Yes, I know the arm angle is adjustable, but it still sits too high for me when it's adjusted to be level or parallel with the guitar's top, and I don't want to adjust it so that it tilts downward. I've searched and cannot find a spring with the same specs but shorter, so I'm thinking about grinding off a bit of it. I wonder if anyone else has attempted this?

probably a dumb question but can this be installed on a guitar that only has a wraparound and no tune o matic?
There are no dump questions!
I don’t think so, because the strings are arranged in a slight circle and have no support point!
And I think the vibrato arm would get in the way.

Does this system suffer from string sag? I.e. if you bend one string, do the others go slightly flat during the bend because the trem moves?
Hmm..... in your described case it works better than my Strat trem. Have a look at my video where I play a little bit.
