wow I just did the same thing with the same guitar and color. Mine is the stock pink. I wish it was relived nitro. As for the term...did the cheaper, rip-off version from Guyker. The spring isn't as good. Think it needs some of the upgrades that you mentioned. I also did a cheap Guyker roller bridge which is awesome! I did install some new 1meg pots and next week I will install a treble bleed variable circuit and a variable tone capacitor circuit from Mythos. Overall, I am shocked at how light it is and how well it resonates.

The difference will mainly be from adding a beefier bridge and the extra mass of the trem. I have an Ibanez Artcore in my pic that when I went from the stock bird swing tailpiece and wooden jazz style bridge to a Ibanez Vintage Vibrato and Roller Bridge, it changed so much of the tone. It was brighter and has more zing. I still love playing that guitar!

Wow! That is looking and sounding ace! This has been an inspirational piece and shows that these projects can be a lot of fun and still result in a very unique and usable instrument. It really could end up being worth more than the sum of its parts.. well done JB, looking forward to the pups next.

Cool! Love the whammy. Money well spent. Nothing wrong with a parts guitar. Your whammy should keep its tuning. It could be snagging in the nut. Just a bit of graphite sprinkled into the slots should fix that. I did it on one of my guitars and it stays in tune even between a few days of not playing it :-)

Cheers! After some more tweaking, tuning stability is solid

I've been considering dropping that exact same trem onto one of my guitars, good timing.
Edit: I think the les trem I had the spring go to the body itself with a piece of felt between. It caused some marking on the guitars so the les trem II is supposed to help that.

Nice and economical. Note: It's pronounced "Less" Trem, an in vibrato for Les Paul, whose name is Les, pronounced "Less", not "Lez" as you Brits are wont to do. Short for Lester.

Did you have to fill and re-drill the tune-o-matic original holes in order to fit
the Duesenberg ii Les Trem? or was it a "drop in" replacement?

Nope didn’t have to do any drilling at all. The whole process is in this video

I’m surprised how many TH-camrs install a duesenberg without adding a roller bridge. You absolutely have to use a roller bridge, unless you don’t mind the strings sawing into the bridge like a bow saw every time you use the trem. This vid does no justice for that tremolo. Also when is the zero fret going to catch on? You don’t need a nut. Why have a nut when a zero fret works flawlessly and requires no setup. These nut replacements are a joke. They only effect unfretted notes which makes uneven volumes. And stop destroying your guitar finish to so called relic it. You just turned a functional guitar into a string snapping piece of garbage, and probably spent twice the value of the guitar to make it half as good as it was. The point of modding is to make things better. That paint job is terrible. It’s like soiling your new tightie whities because you don’t like looking like a mommas boy!
