Lads, if someone thinks your channel is about bushcraft and thinks it’s poor content, I think that person shouldn’t be playing with sharp objects 🗡 any sane person can differentiate your channel from a bushcraft channel. Your great sense of humour and extensive testing makes your channel worth watching, all the best from Ireland 🇮🇪

At the risk of sounding “fluffy” in the testosterone infused knife world, I really think we don’t laugh enough at ourselves…and god damn you guys show everyone that it’s ok to do that. You make me realize I am just a big kid that wants to play with a knife and that’s fantastic! Keep up the excellent knife reviews and don’t stop doing it your way.

It's telling that woodworkers don't care about anything analogous to what knife people care about. Does it work? Well? How much fettling does it take? Here's an eight-and-a-half-minute video of a hand-tool maestro* discussing the different hand-plane steels: th-cam.com/video/aMOFiDX_Hpg/w-d-xo.html Literally only one company offers Crucible-style powdered steel, and nobody really cares.
And woodworkers need to have nigh perfect edges, because a difference of 0.001" will show on a finished surface in good light. Those who want the clean plane finish anyway, there's more leeway if one sands afterward.
*You can even see the patina from his fingers on the tools. LOL.

USA 63 year old hunter and woodsman here . You have one of if not the best knife channels. Love how you camouflage your knife genius with comedy. Your friendship is a gift. just finished watching you two guess each others top 5 in August video. Fun is the name of the game. And i must say if a knife company wants to truly test a knife and get a true reaction they should give it to you lunatics. LOL! You two beat the living shit out of knives. My thoughts exactly. I love the theatrics, the energy, the dialogue, the ripping on each other and the genuine love for what they do. There's always idiots that can't differentiate between testing knives to their limits and what people actually do with their knives in the woods. It would be a boring channel if every knife did all the tasks just fine and it would be a bit dishonest to present them like that.

The original Nessmuk knife is presumed to have been a butcher knife that has been cut down to save weight, and as he was small in stature. He's considered by many to be one of the earliest "ultralight" woodscrafters in the U.S. Adirondacks. His entire rig, including his custom small hatchet (made by Bausch + Lomb), as well as a lightweight wooden canoe and all his rig was about 60lbs total, which including a wooden canoe was exceptionally lightweight.

Yall keep doing you guys yall put a different twist on things that make knife reviews much more fun to watch. About 5 years ago I found yalls channel while looking for a really good smaller knife to bring with me on my hunting trips to process game and for little things I might need a smaller fixed blade knife for while on my hunting trips. I picked up the Lion Steel M4 that year and I've carried that knife on every backcountry hunt since so it's literally traveled all over America and been used more then almost any of my other fix blades. You said it perfectly when you said yall do things so we don't have to and I don't know why that's so difficult for some people to understand...

Guys, you don't have to defend what you you do or why you do it. Your channel is interesting, informative, funny, life-affirming and above all, entertaining.
Personally, I don't give a fuck why you do it, I just know it's great to watch after a hard week at work - so just keep up the great work!! 😁

I'm sitting here watching you guys in the Netherlands from my home/bus in Australia and suddenly realise you are sitting on chairs that are the same as a couple I have outside. Now that's trippy for some weird reason.

I think the DBK knife looks as it should. Functional with clean lines and a great blade shape. The sheath also looks great. Good job.

These guys demonstrate big brain activity and we enjoy it. I had to put my old blind and deaf 15 year old retired bird dog down yesterday so today is a solemn day to say the least..but that statement got a big laugh out of me. Thanks guys. 🤠

I work at a outdoor/camping store and anytime someone buys a knife I tell them about your channel. It's thanks to you guys I've found my first perfect EDC knife. I'm tired of people pussy footing around reviewing a knife and HARD USE.
Knives are meant to be used. They're tools not show pieces.
    Great job mates.

I just received my DBK knife and I am so happy with it. It’s crazy difficult to get out of the sheath but that will improve in time. This knife feels so good in the hand it!s awesome. Haven’t used it yet but I am sure performance will be great!

It's sad that you keep having to explain your channel mission, love the content. It did take a bit to warm up to you guys but not long. Thanks for what you do and how you do it, keeping it real!

Most people wrongly call pattern welded (2 different steels folded a few times to get a pattern that looks cool) steel Damascus. The original techniques have been lost but people have attempted to get that specific pattern and have come close. Its only a matter of time I think until someone nails it.

Screw all those people who talk crap. I think knowing the limits of any tool is critical. Especially since your life might depend on it. I love your videos! They are hilarious and informative. 🇺🇸👍

Over the years guys, I've enjoyed the DBK boys channel fun, comradery of friendship, growth, entertainment, information, introducing/showcasing lots of knives, and overall well done content. Always welcome in my camp. One of these days... we'll hopefully have you here on a DBK remote destination, fly-out rafting trip testing knives in the Alaska wilds. DBK Knife looks great! Appears to check all the boxes and tracing lineages of quality pedigrees.

I can sum it up in one word, confidence.
You watch these to see how far a knife can go so you never need find out the hard way. You can take your knife and have confidence in it. The science behind knife steel and heat treatment is also interesting to see.

If you guys like traditional style knives, check out the Condor Hudson Bay. I came into possession of a super thick butcher's knife from the early 1800s that helped settle Alberta, and I wouldn't take it out to do hardcore stuff. The Hudson Bay is a close enough replica that you can take it out and really beat on it and not feel like you're going to destroy history.
