    Can't you charge the tablet using the port at the bottom of the device after it is detached from the keyboard? 3:16

      Oh, you can. I never checked because there are like 5 things that attach the keyboard to the screen.

      @@EthanOverE-Z With two chargers, you can actually charge halves separately. xD

    Thank you for this review. A review after 2 years worth of regular use is something hard to find here on TH-cam. @TH-cam, please pay this guy.

    I come here because I am using the Surface Book 2 15 1TB. Listening to how you are using it. I smile knowing that I am not the only one in the world any more. 😁😁🤣🤣

    Thanks for this. I am trying to use my Surface Book 3 for design school and it's been difficult at best.

    You can charge it when it's detached by plugging it to the slot where it connects to the keyboard, in the middle.

    Solid review! Considering all the other 2-in-1s on the market and the successor model Surface Laptop Studio it seems that this SB3 is still the king form factor despite its discontinued status. Would you recommend a 13.5" Core i7 with NVIDIA 1650 as a model worth pushing in 2023 for these reasons mainly for light video editing/gaming for leisure primarily? Also gig'em keep up the great work!

    • @EthanOverE-Z
      @EthanOverE-Z  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on your definition of light. It can run basic stuff pretty well, but more demanding edits or games may push it over the edge. I did have trouble with some other editing software I tried, but I haven't got to use premiere pro.

      @Over E-Z Light as in GoPro drone edits/TH-cam composites all less than 10min typically. Nothing crazy like CAD or Ray tracing just more novice personal use photo/video editing. Games looking to run DCS flight sim and World of Tanks potentially maybe Hogwarts Legacy at lower res on the upper-end. I just can't pass up the flexibility to edit with a pen or use as a media device via tablet how often do you find yourself in detached tablet mode and is it pretty serviceable for watching movies/browsing?

    • @EthanOverE-Z
      @EthanOverE-Z  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Jesse-Jackson It should be ok for editing those (I use shotcut for editing). It'll also stream videos well, I watch TH-cam on it a lot. I normally only detach the screen if I want to write with it, but that's just my preference.

    You are extremely entertaining! Do you ever have issues with the screen getting hot when taking notes? Ive been having that issue since i got it for my hs graduation (2021) and ive never found any fixes to it. Im usually only running like firefox and onenote at the time

    • @EthanOverE-Z
      @EthanOverE-Z  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not specifically when I am using it for writing. I typically have only one note and Chrome open when I am taking notes. Although the screen section does get warm if I'm doing something else like playing a game.

    is this laptop good for an engineering student? specifically civil engineering. I’m looking for a laptop that can last 3-4 years.

    • @EthanOverE-Z
      @EthanOverE-Z  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's working for me, but there are other options. And depending on your engineering choice you could need CAD software and I haven't tried that yet.

    Would it be worth buying a used one now?

    • @EthanOverE-Z
      @EthanOverE-Z  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That still depends on a variety of factors. This is mostly just what my experience is with it, but you should also look at other laptop options.

      Used or refurbished ones with 1 year warranty are a good price for the various uses this model provides.
      However, if you can spend the money to get something that is top of the range now, it'll definitely give you more.
