      @@thecainer64 I learned to play by ear, but what I’ve found really useful is to know the chords notes and use the notes in the chords when playing songs. Usually the 1,4,5 notes for major and minor chords and sometimes throw in a flat 3rd or flat 7th when playing songs that would have a blues feel.

    For pattern 3 and 4 are these used for songs with 6/8 timing? I noticed in another video that you used pattern 3 and the notes said something about using it with 4/4 timing but I am not sure how that is done. Are some of the strums quicker if so could you explain the timing of the strum pattern? For example I am counting pattern 3 like this... 1,2,&,&,4,5,6&. I am a beginner and always learning. The idea that there are strum patterns specific to "worship" music is nonsense.

  • @MrVbobby
    @MrVbobby ปีที่แล้ว

    You said you like to hear from people. I want to say up front that I mean no disrespect. If you don't want to be stuck for another 12 years then you need to learn a little about rhythm. Again no disrespect I'm looking at you tube videos because I need to improve also. I have been leading worship for over 30 years and one of my least favorite things to listen to in worship is strumming with no variety. When I looked at your 12 year video I actually thought the first picture of you strumming was better than now. That straight on the numbers beat gets monotonous after awhile. I am leaving a definition and some examples. Syncopation - Music Theory Academy
    Syncopation Definition. Syncopation is the accenting of a note which would usually not be accented. Syncopation is often described as being off beat. The time signature of a piece of music gives an indication of a regular pattern of strong and weak beats. A syncopated rhythm goes against this pattern by putting the accent on weak beats. Guitar Lessons - My Top 3 Guitar Strums th-cam.com/video/kPky4NV-8Gs/w-d-xo.html STRUMMING PATTERNS - How to Lead Worship with Acoustic Guitar th-cam.com/video/XNYZrR9nicA/w-d-xo.html Neither of these is mine so again I am not trying to make myself look good I have way to much time in to be worrying about that I am honestly trying to help. and I hope you will try to see what I am talking about. sometimes if your playing with another guitar player you can hold each other back if your not careful experiment with emphasizing the offbeat and then maybe even get into palm mutes. God Bless you in all your endeavors and I pray that you continue in the good work that you are doing.
