Very well done and thorough video. I have been contemplating for months on which 4k monitor I should be getting and a couple tech guys I know swear by Samsung and the G7 32". After reading countless QA problems with ALL of their lineups I've decided to stray away from the masses and go with this one. Luckily for prime day it's 10% off so at least I'm saving a little.

@beef_burgers Personally I absolutely love it. I swapped from a 1080p TN panel to this since I had a 6900XT and wasn't using it to its full potential in any regard and I couldn't be happier.
My eyes were actually initially sore from the transition as it was such a monumental change, but the contrast and curve is simply amazing. There is some "minor" backlight in the top left corner I slightly notice in very dark settings. I was reading that it'll most likely go away with prolonged use as heating will cause the most likely culprit of the tight frame to loosen up and cause things to relax.

@@TechSteve Just bought it! =D Bit scared about the 1500R curve. Am using a 27" 1800R and is amazing how my eyes have adjusted over the many months going from a traditional flat-screen monitor. What at first looked quite rounded at the edges, I now almost see a near flat screen. Crazy. Am hoping it will be a little similar. Am sure the 1500R at first will freak me out (did I make an expensive mistake?!), to it naturalising with my sight in time *fingers crossed*.

Ty so much for this. I've spent hours searching for reviews on different monitors. I bought a 32inch g7 and looked like crap...that was my bad though for not getting it 4k. However, I don't want to spend over 1k for a monitor. I have the money, but my conscious won't let me haha. This seems like a good compromise, and I did actually like the curve on the g7. I know this one is 1500r instead of 1000r but yea I could see how it was immersive. I was worried about va panel. I have an acer 27 inch ips 2k which works great but I have a pc that can handle 4k. Anyway, it seems like the issues may occur if you look from an angle. I won't look from an angle most of the times. Ty again for this no nonsense review!

I haven’t noticed any smearing and I’ve been playing darker games lately like Callisto Protocol, Dead Space and Returnal, image looks great even when things are moving fast. I’d really recommended using “Picture Quality” mode for the overdrive setting, the other modes definitely do introduce noticeable ghosting. Colors are vibrant but not overly so, contrast is great you can really get deep black out of it like a proper VA should and brightness is really bright. I like my monitors to be bright so I usually max it out but this monitor is the first one haven’t had to do that. Like nothing but good things to say.

I'm looking to upgrade my Dell 32 inch 4k curved 60hz monitor. Would this be an upgrade or will it look too much like it other than the Hz being higher? Obviously the HZ is a big deal in gaming since it gives a better smoother experience but I'd like an update or upgrade where I can also see the colors pop more or just overall nicer appearance. I also want a monitor that is just like my Dell monitor and has pretty good speakers. It is very hard to tell if the speakers are good on this based on this video because obviously filming sound will never give a true impression of the quality. Is this too much like my Dell monitor other than the Hz? I personally prefer great built in sound because the way I have my speakers set up they are setup through my computer and not monitor. I don't even know how to connect my pc speakers to my monitor. Also, the Dell 32 inch 4k curved 60hz monitor I have has great sound. With that said the Monitor I am currently rocking has a couple dead pixels on it but since my vision isn't great it's hard to notice and when gaming it's even harder to notice since pixels are so small.

Ok I've 2 of these (well g32qc (basically the 1440p version) and the m32uc) dual monitors works well with these.
There's about 9mm (3/8 inch) of bezel on each monitor so about 18 mm or 6/8inch total) unless you want to position one behind the bezel of the other.
Overall though the curve isn't too much from about an arms length It fills my view nicely where everything is within my peripheral vision.
But where Id need to turn my head to be able to read some stuff on the edges clearly e.g. checking the time. It feels a lot more immersive using both for gaming (especially racing games but I feel for fps games the bezel might be distracting)(but id recommend putting one slightly behind to have the bezels overlap.
If you've any more questions about it feel free to reply and I'll respond

I am trying to choose between M32U, M32UC and M28U. Mostly, I would like to try a curved monitor, but I didn't see many videos about that monitor. In my country the M28U is 500 euros, the M32UC is 640 euros and the M32U is around 700 euros. What do you say?
I mostly play games with story: RDR 2, GTA V, The Last of Us etc.
    And I often play PUBG.
For FPS games, I think a smaller screen is better because you don't have to move your eyes so much. But for story games, I think the 32 inch would be better.
My GPU is 4070ti. In future when the GPU will get old, I will need to put the resolution at 2K.
I don't think that 4K on 28 inch is so good, but also 2K on 32 inch isn't as good as 2K on 28 inch.
    What would be your advice?

Just received my monitor. When I hook it up to my PS5 it’s only getting 60Hz and it’s impossible to change it no matter how much I tweak my PS5 and monitor settings. I checked for a firmware update, but there isn’t any out yet. Any suggestions? The main reason why I got this monitor was because I wanted to try something besides 60Hz that would take full advantage of what the PS5 has to offer. I’m so bummed out :/

    • @TechSteve
      @TechSteve  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

The PS5 will normally show 60Hz until you unlock 120Hz with a game. Also make sure you’re using a HDMI 2.1 cable. If I’m not mistaken you also have to put it in performance mode
How To Set PS5 Performance Mode?
1 - Go to the PS5 Home Screen and select the Settings icon (a small cog) in the top right side.
2 - In 'Settings', navigate to the 'Save Data and Game/App Settings' option.
3 - From here select 'Game Presets'
4 - Within 'Game Presets' you'll see all the various options, the second in the list is the ability to choose between 'Performance Mode', 'Resolution Mode' or 'Game Default'.
5 - Select 'Performance Mode' and you're good to go. Now wherever possible the PS5 will prioritise performance over image quality, meaning you can enjoy higher frame rates.

I've had it for a week now, it's great! Really good MPRT (superior to my previous curved VA). The new buzz word is this next generation uses a SuperSpeed VA. Has great colours too and nice and bright. The 1500R curve is not too bad either. I went from a 27" 1800R to this, was a fairly easy transition on the eyes. A 1000R would be scary though, make general desktop work a little challenging I would think. That said I do experience one bug don't know why yet. When I view screenshots I've taken (and only screenshots) the 'white' background of the screenshot looks yellow. It's consistent for any screenshot I view. Webpage and general gaming, or opening Word documents or PDF's no issue. Weird. Will contact Gigabyte about this one.
