You could go off road in any truck, but there is just something different about doing it in a Jeep. And Greg from CARiD.com was tired of everyone else having all the fun, so it was time to build our own. In this video Greg walks you through the entire process of building up our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. From installing a Teraflex 4-inch lift kit, to a sick set of Westin Snyper bumpers, and of course a new set of wheels and tires. So, check out this entire build process, and hopefully get a few ideas for your own Jeep and start working on it!
What We Started With. Every build must start somewhere, and we were lucky to start with a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Right from the factory this Jeep comes well equipped with Dana 44 axles front and rear, with electronic lockers and 4.10 gears. Jeep also equips all new JK Rubicon’s with electronic sway bar disconnects, and factory rock rails. So, we had a create canvas to start with.
Suspension System. For this build, Greg did a lot of research before just selecting any old suspension lift kit. And he settled on a 4-inch short arm lift kit from Teraflex. His reason? Well the team at Teraflex is all about Jeeps, and just Jeeps. They have years of experience in the Jeep world, and a stellar reputation in the market for building and designing some of the best Jeep suspension systems. This 4-inch kit comes with every component you could possibly need to lift your Jeep, and still offers a comfortable ride on the street, with the capability to tackle anything in the woods.
Off Road Accessories. But this video isn’t just about installing a lift kit, this is a full-on build. Greg also shows you how to install a set of Fox 2.0 Performance series shocks on your JK Wrangler. And no Jeep is complete without a set of off road bumpers. So, for that we reached out to our friends at Westin and bolted up a set of there Snyper front and rear off road bumpers. Not only did it transform the attitude of our Jeep but made it even more capable than before off road.

Beautiful build but I think those wheels fit more on a truck. Love the built though !
Why did you guys decide to profile the tires so low? Seems you could get more out of airing down the tires is you went with something like an 18” wheel.
It looks better at the mall that way.
Nice build! I have a 2018 JK also. I just put a 2.5 inch lift and some AT 33s. Would you suggest a new steering stabilizer? If so how much would it help? Our current steering feels fine to me but maybe I am just used to it?
So close to doing it right.... not ganna be doing any wheeling with rims like that🤦♂️
