Social system is not only covering healthing care, with these taxes we have free education, free ways, street mantaining, every social event and free things around the country... So, you may think it is expensive but when you need a surgery it is completely free, the surgery, the stay in the hospital, medicines and the rest of the treatment... So it's not expensive at all if you think about it. Ambulance, labor, accidents, sickness, treatment... Whatever you need it's going to be for free... Sorry for the english, not my mother tongue.

I'm not against the system, but I don't like the fact that it is a flat rate that has to be paid even if you make 0 € as a freelancer. This is a good deal for those who make a lot of money, but a bad deal for those who make only little money. Plus it has an enormous psychological impact, starting every month with -290€.

@@FriiInfo I completely understand this point, I am, myself, a freelance as well, but we believe in a system that provide health care for everybody. Nobody deserve to die just because they don't have resources enough to pay a private health care... And you can have the luck to make money and get this health attention but not all people xan and we don't destinguise between those people because you never can tell if you are goint to be working at the moment you need health care. Anything is really for free but with a system like this nobody is going to die at the street or their own houses witouth attention.

@@FriiInfo The flat 290 seems like a lot to me if you don't make anything but I can't really say too much because I'm in the USA. For what it's worth, as a freelancer here if you don't make anything, you don't have to pay any social security. However, you would still have to pay for your health insurance because it's not provided by the government. I wouldn't say this is better, especially when you get older. But, I do understand where both of you are coming from.

In my country sick leave is 80% of real salary earned over that time, if not illness
