Great topic. You nailed it. I lived in Spain when I was young and I worked for a Danish company as an adult so I've been in both countries. Stores in DK close so early - even grocery stores - but in Spain you can go shopping later which helps if you have to work. I like the Danish custom of lighting candles in the evening and maybe it helps to warm up the room. I'll be in Malaga in May scouting for a place to live. Any tips?

      True, I'm a big candle fan 😃
Have a look on Idealista and potentially Facebook for a place to live. Be careful though there are a lot scammers out there 🙏

High velocity train market in Spain has been liberalized and now you have at least 3 companies that operates in the high velocity railways, so this pushes travel prices down.

Just subbed. You very sympathetic and the dog issue definately made me laugh a lot. No dogs in Denmark? lol

Thank you :) There are dog in Denmark, but most landlords don't allow pets so I think that keeps the dog population down.

1:33 DOGS: if you're living in Torremolinos it's normal you see a lot of dogs. There are many gays there, and they tend to have dogs. It helps them socialize with other gays 🙂
2:43 CIVIL SERVANTS: if you get a job for the government it's very difficult you get fired, even if you're not a very motivated worker. Job security, better salaries and stability.
7:14 LOUDNESS: If you met my younger sister you'd get very stressed 😀Even I have to ask her to lower the volume of her voice because she speaks too load even for me.

I like your insights. I lived in New York for nearly half of my life but I am not a happy camper when it comes to cold winters, so I'd like to know when you installed your thermometer what was the inside temperature like in degrees? And can you at least buy a small portable heater, or is that now allowed? How long do you feel the cold weather? I am looking forward to moving there for the digital nomad visa but I know also that your concerns are also my concerns re: what you call the volume of society and too often, I find myself almost liking Denmark ando ther Dutch countries for being more introvert-friendly. Still, I am drawn to Spain and the Spanish culture. I'm certainly curious to know more about the digital nomad visa but I heard there's no documentation yet and it will be announced not later than March 13, 2023. Are you part of Bureaucracy or you're just promoting it btw?
I wonder if there are non-Spanish citizens who become civil servants later.
I like that you mentioned the mass transit system and the prices and the hours they take.
I hear that it gets extremely hot there too, how is the airconditioning there and the electric bills for both winter and summer?
I heard one has to make about 2,300 pounds a month to be a digital nomad there, what happens when it's not consistent to that amount and it dips every now and then?
I have too many questions. You don't need to answer all, but curious about the room temp, though.
    All the best!

Hi there :) I think they are still confirming the final details of the digital nomad VISA.
I don't work directly for Bureaucracy but I have a affiliate partnership with them since they offer services that are very relevant to many people in my audience :)
I have a small portable heater and air-con. I try to limit the use of both for money reasons. I currently pay around 50€ /moth for electric.
