Just beat RE3 Remake. “Right off the heels of Resident Evil 2” “Wouldn’t do as well as it’s predecessor, but It sold a lot of copies.” I feel like history is repeating itself.
What's fun is that since the first time I played RE3 I said it felt more like an expansion of RE2 more than a new game, and now 20 years later people are finally realizing hahaha
The bass sure is stronger with this mic, my subwoofer trembles a lot more when you talk with it than without. Also the sound is a bit muffled, I don't know if that's due to the quality of the mic or from how it's positioned.
Juan comes across as SUCH a good guy. I feel like in the time since I've been watching (his megaman 2 video) he's like one of my buddies. Why I like this show; the host is very genuine. Keep up the great work!
The deal with dodging is if you aren’t aiming already when an enemy attacks, you press aim. If you were already aiming when an enemy attacks, you press the action button while aiming. Not super hard to get used to but they could do a better job explaining it in game. Anyway great review as always! Here hoping Nemesis doesn’t give anyone an actual heart attack in RE 3make.

Resident Evil 3 is my personal favorite. I still remember my 'Handgun Only' run and how difficult it was. I especially love the desolate, gritty urban 90's atmosphere compared to the rest of the series.
I loved it when Kirby sucked Jill Valentine up and turned into a hot, blue tube top wearing, police babe and fought a morphing parasitic zombie Tyrant, truly my favourite part of the Kirby franchise.

Make sure you don't accidentally drop them when they're in the case. That case does not do a very good job of protecting them. They slipped out of my pocket while walking and landed on concrete which completely killed the charging in my right earbud. Maybe the case has gotten better now but watch out.
Trace Chmielewski can you tell me how well they stay in your ear? I tried looking up reviews last time Johnny plugged them but got nothing substantial.
JohnAtDawn They actually stay in really well. They sent several sets of the tips that go into your ear. They’re all varying in size so you can test which set works the best for you and to make sure they fit as comfortably as possible. I just use the standard ones that came on them and they fit really well. I have never had a problem with them trying to come out. I decided to go all out and got the E55s instead of the E25s but John’s code still works. So if you want to get some, I say go for it. I can’t tell you much of the E25s but the E55s are excellent. The base is just right. Has plenty of power but not over powering.
Even though I have never played a Resident Evil game before, I do love watching Johnny review these games to get a sense of what the series is like. Although that could be said for a lot of Johnny’s videos. Keep up the good work Johnny.
I love the RE franchise and agree with you. For example, I don't like Sonic at all but I love to watch Johnny'd videos about that franchise, his passion really comes through.
I enjoyed the remake but I agree with you. They could have made Nemesis more like Mr X in the RE2 remake but he felt a lot more linear. It certainly isn’t a god awful game or an awful remake, it just could have done more.
Sadly I think a lot of modders seemed more intrested in making more revealing costumes for RE3 Remake as well as RE2 Remake which... kinda bothers me personally.

Hello! I’m no audio expert (yet) but I’ve hooked up many lavs for film shoots/interviews! I would recommend skewing the lav a bit to one side and having the actual mic part facing towards your chin. Also, I suggest boosting the gain a bit if possible since it’s a little muffled at times. You can actually flip it around to be inside your shirt if you’d like (remove the soft cover), but that will need to come with additional volume/gain boosts. Regardless, it was a great video!
I dig the faster paced nature of this game, with the quick turning and dodging. Never been much of a survival horror kind of guy myself, but this game looks entertaining.
Just finished playing the Remake today then I immediately watched this video. Having not played the original but watching this, I can't help but feel like some major cuts were made and boss fights/enemies. I guess ima have to play the original Resident Evil 3 to get the full picture myself! Maybe during halloween.
I can tell right off the bat, not sure if I like the new mic, it sounds too muffled for me. Might be the position of the mic or the quality, I can't say exactly why it's muffled.

Fun fact: The originally planned Resident Evil 3 was a game with HUNK on a Cruise Liner. After that failed, Kamiya moved to the PS2 and Capcom decided Mikami's brainchild Code Veronica could be the next main one. Then Sony said "No, make this spin-off a main game". And of course Kamiya's RE4 prototype with Tony Redgrave and Oswald Spencer would turn into Devil May Cry.
Man I wish I didn't sell my GCN copy a few years ago. Watching this makes me want to play it again. I don't own a PC either, so it's not like I can emulate it or something.
You can still play it without too much hassle. PS1 can be emulated on fairly entry-level Android devices. EPSXE or RetroArch work with Bluetooth controllers too, so you don't have to worry about fiddly touch controls. I've got it on both my phone and laptop and use it all the time.
Forgot to mention that experience with using gunpowder (More uses) will increase yeald and for Gunpowder A and B you can make "Enhanced Ammunition" after 7 or 8 uses of Gunpowder. But combining powders only counts as 1.
I loved what this game did in its opening act. Resident Evil 2 only teased the zombie-filled streets of the city before trapping you indoors for the remainder of the game. Actually being able to explore Raccoon City was great. And Nemesis was, for me, the first actively scary element of a RE game. He was just so aggressive and unpredictable. The previous games had creepy atmosphere, but nothing in them made me feel panic like the Nemesis did.
Wonderful video Johnny, Resident evil 3 was one of my favorite Resident evil’s and glad to see it getting a remake along with your great review. The mic was great, heard your perfectly, also you forgot to mention the Enhanced Ammo that you can get from mixing Gunpowder into the Mixer, it was a sort of balance between picking it or the custom guns from Nemesis.

The first hours in the city were some of the best in the old games to me. I loved navigating sorts of the infamous Raccoon and the sense of dread and urgency.

Imagine an enemy who can be slowed down but not stopped, and stalks you throughout an open world 80s L.A. while you protect Sarah Conner. That could actually make for decent movie licensed game...

Clunky controls yea, but had an original idea, interesting gimmicks, and story was intriguing and original. Still have my original copy with my other Dreamcast game’s haha. Hope it’s a sign he’ll maybe cover some more Dreamcast titles in the future. If so make sure to get the true ending!!
i like how even though code veronica continues 2's story and 3 is more of a gaiden game, 3 honestly feels more like a finale to the classic series since we see the epilogues of all the characters (even hunk and the tofu, i always thought it was a fridge when i 1st saw it in a capcom promotional video. lol) with the survivors getting ready to take a stand against umbrella(which i kinda wish we got a mainline game focused entirely on instead of parts of it being told in spin-offs and umbrellas fall happening off-screen in 4 and the flashback in 5.) compared to code veronica where outside of chris and claire reuniting thanks to information from leon(likely from ada wong.) and wesker's revival felt more like a gaiden game. also johnny you should totally have matt show up for 4 since i think outside of spin-offs like the umbrella chronicles you only have code veronica, 0 and remake, 4,6 and possibly 7 left(or 3 remake considering it'll definitely be released during this marathon. lol:3)
The new mic does sound like it needs adjusting if it can be done. Maybe if the bass were adjusted, that might work for the better. I don't know because I have zero experience with those type of mics. The sound quality is by no means a detriment to this video. Just offering feedback on the mic as you are open to as said in the beginning

I love the secret ammo crafting experience system in this - really gives the starting handgun and shotgun new life in the mid to late game.

I can tell right off the bat, not sure if I like the new mic, it sounds too muffled for me. Might be the position of the mic or the quality, I can't say exactly why it's muffled.

Fun fact: The originally planned Resident Evil 3 was a game with HUNK on a Cruise Liner. After that failed, Kamiya moved to the PS2 and Capcom decided Mikami's brainchild Code Veronica could be the next main one. Then Sony said "No, make this spin-off a main game". And of course Kamiya's RE4 prototype with Tony Redgrave and Oswald Spencer would turn into Devil May Cry.

Man I wish I didn't sell my GCN copy a few years ago. Watching this makes me want to play it again. I don't own a PC either, so it's not like I can emulate it or something.
You can still play it without too much hassle. PS1 can be emulated on fairly entry-level Android devices. EPSXE or RetroArch work with Bluetooth controllers too, so you don't have to worry about fiddly touch controls. I've got it on both my phone and laptop and use it all the time.

Forgot to mention that experience with using gunpowder (More uses) will increase yeald and for Gunpowder A and B you can make "Enhanced Ammunition" after 7 or 8 uses of Gunpowder. But combining powders only counts as 1.
I loved what this game did in its opening act. Resident Evil 2 only teased the zombie-filled streets of the city before trapping you indoors for the remainder of the game. Actually being able to explore Raccoon City was great.
And Nemesis was, for me, the first actively scary element of a RE game. He was just so aggressive and unpredictable. The previous games had creepy atmosphere, but nothing in them made me feel panic like the Nemesis did.
Wonderful video Johnny, Resident evil 3 was one of my favorite Resident evil’s and glad to see it getting a remake along with your great review.
The mic was great, heard your perfectly, also you forgot to mention the Enhanced Ammo that you can get from mixing Gunpowder into the Mixer, it was a sort of balance between picking it or the custom guns from Nemesis.

Imagine an enemy who can be slowed down but not stopped, and stalks you throughout an open world 80s L.A. while you protect Sarah Conner. That could actually make for decent movie licensed game...

3:22 omg he has ILLBLEED!!! I loved that game. Rarely anyone I talk to has ever heard of it. Felt like it was a gem on that on the Dreamcast. Clunky controls yea, but had an original idea, interesting gimmicks, and story was intriguing and original. Still have my original copy with my other Dreamcast game’s haha. Hope it’s a sign he’ll maybe cover some more Dreamcast titles in the future. If so make sure to get the true ending!!
So, i don't know much about sound, the volume between certain parts of the video seem inconsistent. The mic quality sounds pretry good though.
i like how even though code veronica continues 2's story and 3 is more of a gaiden game, 3 honestly feels more like a finale to the classic series since we see the epilogues of all the characters (even hunk and the tofu, i always thought it was a fridge when i 1st saw it in a capcom promotional video. lol) with the survivors getting ready to take a stand against umbrella(which i kinda wish we got a mainline game focused entirely on instead of parts of it being told in spin-offs and umbrellas fall happening off-screen in 4 and the flashback in 5.) compared to code veronica where outside of chris and claire reuniting thanks to information from leon(likely from ada wong.) and wesker's revival felt more like a gaiden game. also johnny you should totally have matt show up for 4 since i think outside of spin-offs like the umbrella chronicles you only have code veronica, 0 and remake, 4,6 and possibly 7 left(or 3 remake considering it'll definitely be released during this marathon. lol:3)

The new mic does sound like it needs adjusting if it can be done. Maybe if the bass were adjusted, that might work for the better. I don't know because I have zero experience with those type of mics. The sound quality is by no means a detriment to this video. Just offering feedback on the mic as you are open to as said in the beginning
