I’ve been playing the Resident Evil series for the first time since the beginning of 2019 starting with RE2 Remake, but ironically, RE1 ended up being my favorite. Sure, aspects of the game like the tank controls are archaic but it didn’t take me long to get used to them. This game just has a unique combination of silly charm with its voice acting/cutscenes and tense moments, especially on your first playthrough and that’s why I love it so much. The original soundtrack is great too. While REmake is objectively a better game, I don’t think that means the original is pointless to play. If anything, playing the original RE1 first will enhance your experience of the remake.
I started with Resi 4 since that was the big one everyone loves, also played it for the first time this year. And found out it ALSO has tank controls. Bit strange and hard to get used to but once you're good at aiming it's a perfect balance of tension and fun really. It reminds me so much of Devil May Cry which I loved back in the day, and that makes sense seeing as how that started off as a resident evil game, it's all the little things like how when you go through the door it has that blurry zooming in effect. I have started Resi 1 but I keel getting stuck because I'm going round every room and there's no way to progress. I will probably need a guide I guess, I'm pretty dumb
"You Can Think The Voice Acting Is Either Bad Or Hilarious, And There Is No In Between When It Comes To This Game." It's definitely both for me lol! 😂😂😂
I'm going to point out that it's always a pleasure that Johnny takes the time to at least attempt to pronounce foreign names. So many youtubers make a joke out of it with "Well I don't know shit, sorry," but 90% of the time, all you have to do is read, comprehend, and sound it out.
Anyone else think this is one of Johnny's best reviews? I've rewatched this almost half a dozen times now and I'm still laughing at the jokes Johnny covers at the bases for this review. Definitely one his highlights for this channel
That Kitchen music is the greatest thing to come from that game (which is saying a lot considering the legendary voice acting). I can't get enough of it. It takes something special to get it so wrong.

Also, Selene is best dance partner.
2:15 I was always told that was Richard? Lol anyway the gun Chris/Richard is holding is really wired, it looks like an amalgamation of a shot gun, rifle and something else
Nice reference to the SGB playthrough of RE1 Johnny
This is so funny. I FR got the notification for this video while I was watching the resident evil 2 remake video.
Had a shit day at work, but a new Johnny vs video always makes my day
The box art... the right side of chris' face reminds me of David Schwimmer
The difference between these two series is that one has its main character fight a monstrous abomination and the other is resident evil
"You Can Think The Voice Acting Is Either Bad Or Hilarious, And There Is No In Between When It Comes To This Game."
It's definitely both for me lol! 😂😂😂
The melting scene in Sweet Home was awesome in the movie.
So excited for the first episode of Round 3 featuring RE5
Sweet Home reminds me of Corpse Party Classic where you have to explore all over the Heavenly Host Elementary School.
1:08 is when the actual video starts.
I'm going to point out that it's always a pleasure that Johnny takes the time to at least attempt to pronounce foreign names. So many youtubers make a joke out of it with "Well I don't know shit, sorry," but 90% of the time, all you have to do is read, comprehend, and sound it out.
everytime i think of enrico with the “yeah” always laugh so hard funny as hell how he sounds””yeah”😂🤣
“So much for him! We got to the root... of the problem!”
Gotta love Johnny's barrel of doom mug
Anyone else think this is one of Johnny's best reviews? I've rewatched this almost half a dozen times now and I'm still laughing at the jokes Johnny covers at the bases for this review. Definitely one his highlights for this channel
That Kitchen music is the greatest thing to come from that game (which is saying a lot considering the legendary voice acting). I can't get enough of it. It takes something special to get it so wrong.
I wouldn't be surprised if the basement/kitchen dualshock music was that way cause someone wanted to watch the guy make music
I love the sound when you made for Albert Wesker haha
The boxes storage being linked means they have a huge network of baggage conveyer belts below them which lead to the other boxes. (If you wanted to make a magic storage box work irl anyway.)
One heck of "Kirby Marathon"
Eventually he'll get to the ROOT of the problem with Whispy Woods.
Just gotta get used to the tank controls and believe me you can easily avoid a confrontation, I actually miss the tank controls when I was playing Haunting Ground
Fun Fact: That isn't Chris on the cover of the original game. It's actually Richard. I know that doesn't make any sense. I used to think it was Chris, too but it is not.
To be fair, people say it's both Richard or Chris. The dude on the cover looks more like Chris than Richard Aiken.
