- In part 15, we head with Kratos and Freya to go rescue her brother and run into Heimdall along the way. Then we follow Atreus to Asgard where we get into a Bar fight with Thor.

I really like how once Kratos hits Hiemdall once it all does downhill from there. As a martial artist theres the phrase “hit a black belt once, he becomes a brown belt, hit him enough times and he’s a white belt.” Heimdall’s shock and panic when Kratos hit him the first time did a number on his ability to calmly and arrogantly never be hit. Great writing.
Heimdall didn't say 'monster' just because he was losing
Since his ability is to see through people, he literally saw a monster inside Kratos

The person he once was back then was a monster, this fight brought that old part of him back. He didn’t want to kill him, but leaving him alive meant the future death of Atreus. So he had to be that monster again, all that rage and anger came back in that moment he was chocking him because he has a supreme soft spot for Atreus.

The fact that for the entire fight with heimdall she doesnt realize that she can just hit him instead of doing the hard thing and throwing spears

I've seen several people not realize they could start switching weapons after the fight begins proper. Although she's the most rage-y I've seen. Lol
It was driving me nuts, he catches it like 5 times and she doesn’t realize she can just blow it up while he’s holding the spear

In the end, Heimdall really wasn't to coward I thought he'd be. Maybe out of pride, but he kept fighting even with a blown off arm and didn't beg for his life.

Heimdall is described to have golden teeth in the mythology. However, since it's never specified how many gold teeth he has, Santa Monica just gave him a whole set of golden teeth in the game 😂
Or he could have some of the worse brushing schedule ever and his golden teeth are yellow. My theory anyways

Hey Marz. You might want to go back to that "long side track mission" after saving freir. It unlocks literally a huge map in vanaheim full of wonders and backstory that will help you understand more about atreus mother. And is fun as hell.
A little late, but she's been done with the game for a while. She streamed it on twitch.
With new games streamers direct their focus on main plot and then sides off cam or later. I'm assuming so they can stream other playthroughs
They kept in a blooper that actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise. When Kratos kills Heimdall and then goes to snatch the horn off of his belt, he misses and then snatches it off the second time. This wasn't in the script, but when filming the scene Christopher Judge just missed it and got pissed that he did, so he snatched the horn off the belt aggressively.

The Bar fight was my favorite part of the game! Thor all drunk and throws his drink. Then the fight begins as your enemies fight back. I loved how Thor got hammered, I had such a great time with this scene! It was epic!

All through the previous God of War game, you hear the buildup of Thor as this murderous brute, and at first he seems that way, but from our first meeting of him his characterization doesn't quite match his rep. Gradually we realize that Thor is really another victim of his father's manipulation.

You get the sense of a man who could've been so much more, so much better, if he hadn't been raised like his father's attack dog.
what i loved about the fight against Heimdall is that Kratos starts out with wide swings to test heimdall's reaction time and speed, the next time he goes in its more speed and more compact to give him less space to react, and then on the final one he goes for speedy quick punches so he can hit his bracer and then land a blow
First game Marz beats Baldur without blocking, second game she beats Heimdall with just the spear 🔥

With Baldur and Heimdall, Santa Monica has been very clever at extrapolating from mythic precedents and turning what were presented as blessings, into curses.
Watching this had me heated. After you scratch him, you can easily attack him lol.

Atreus looks 16 maybe 17 in this game
This boss fight I think took me in total six tries just to get past him the animal part was easy but getting past Heimdall was the hardest part of the game in my opinion and I've only got like I think two missions left before the story is over but this boss fight is when I will never forget the amount of anxiety in this one boss fight is insane
Heimdall is so stuck in his ways and hardheaded, the wall symbolizes him well

Dude, “High” Freyr is the most funniest guy ever. You should’ve listened through of what High Freyr was talking about, his dialogue is hilarious.
Usually fighting Heimdal was a bit hard on me, but I learned how to beat him and Heimdal was a pain like a hassle at all
Fighting Heimdall already frustrated..but watch Marz struggling fighting him is torture 😆

I think they really think they did Hiemdall dirty. He was a great villain and I dont understand how we even win this fight. Like how does Heimdall not foresee that Kratos is going to blow up the spear and I really dont understand how we can punch him after countering his attack. Like how do we even counter him if he can see our counter attempt
@@PeachesandCream225 I do agree with your first point. However I think what they wanted to do with the second phase is that he lost his cool after being hit by Kratos, he's not concentrating anymore and can't read all of his moves.
I can understand the spear working once, but it doesn't make much sense it working over and over again, even on a person that can't read minds.
Kratos loves giving throat hugs
It showed your skills and composure when you were able to handle heimdall when your health was near 0 multiple times
However, the pressure always made you forgot one simple thing that can gain you advantage, which is the range of blade of chaos. With the range of blade of chaos, you would be able to maintain distance from heimdall and make this fight easier

I find it funny. On the first game I fought bulder with my bare hands never used the axe and I beat him both intro/ending. Now I fought Thor with my bare hands and use no axe. You don’t get any achievements but I just wanted to prove it was done, yes both were on give me God of War mode. Here is Marz doing it all with a throwing spear 😂 funny

@ 45:03 uh uh aint no "Oh No!" F Heimdall if we start the Ragna we start it! And btw, second fight with Heimdall you can fight him normally; actually if I'm not mistaking ypu can fight him outright after you get the first hit on him. Just a matter of switching your weapons every time you get him open or Mimir says him open.
I liked Heimdall he talked shit and he could back it up Edit : also when you got one hit on him you could have used regular attacks and other weapons

Marz you need a different build. I'm right after you in this game but my armor and weapon build seem so much stronger. I've used the girdle and bracers of the ravens tears since towards the beginning (increased healing from health stones/ rage) and the rest I go for strength/defense. But, great job! 👍
