I love this layout, especially the stand alone pantry. You've managed to really utilize that space so well. It's so light and airy and homely at the same time. One of the best I've seen.
First compliment: the van build. Efficient use of space, lots of 'bang for the buck' options, and thoughtful multi-purpose furniture additions that allow flexibility for living areas. Second compliment: Nice job packing a lot of useful information into a succinct, 10+ minute, video.
The pantry/butcher block solution is great. I always think to myself when watching these that I'd want some sort of option to making the bed every day, just for the days when I'm feeling a little lazy, and this was a good one. Optional workstation/dining area, and you can still work with a view as well. Really nice work.

I would really love to see a version of this set up with a shower, or, if possible the van to be longer to accommodate space for the shower. Also I've got to look at his clothes & various household items storage again. It would be awesome for this setup to accommodate 2 full-time van dwellers

You completely had me at 'the harmonica lives on the knife block'... in addition to the column of useful storage stuff-space behind the passenger seat... and storing your outerwear behind the driving seat... and the easy-peasy shoe storage... and the legally-legislated fruit & veg hammock... Unsolicited suggestion - check out the road regulations for British camper builds. They create a sealed 'gas bottle box' with a drain in the floor. Why? Because science - the gas is heavier than air and will drain out the van while your CO2 alarm is doing it's thing. Oh - and if you ever want to upgrade to a composting toilet that will put you back around $150... I have a design. Why? Because science. Us Girl-Women are, shall we say, not fond of pee cans or funnels. Also - you're design aesthetic for the build is SO on point. Practically makes my teeth hurt, it's so good. - Cathy (&, accidentally, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown I'm at the fun stage of saving cash for the (eventual) cargo van build with a wood stove... 'cause I want one and I'm ready & willing to build a camping van around it... And yes. I'm old. I still think in paragraphs. Keep having fun out there. Safest of travels to you...
That's a great idea for a gas leak, but just to mention CO (carbon monoxide) does not sink - it's a myth that it is heavier than air, it actually mixes with the air and doesn't sink or rise, it evenly disperses through the space which is one of the reasons it is so dangerous. Stay safe everyone :)

This is the first van owner am seeing that has a fire extinguisher. Makes sense if you think about the various scenarios that could happen. Better safe than sorry.
Of all the van builds I've seen this one appeals to me the most. As a single person, I've whittled down what is most important and having a shorter wheelbase, clever, practical storage and good lighting makes the whole thing worthwhile. I must say tho, that having the "garage" space is also practical for stowing or rather hiding junk which I seem to have lots of as a landscaper lol. Also, as a female, I like the idea of an internal shower space as I'm often in urban areas too. You've given me some great ideas and inspo here. Thanks for posting this and happy ventures out there!

Well done on the mostly self-build van! You've got a cozy, highly mobile studio, with Water, Food, Coffee, Solar for the Fridge and a job that you can do anywhere! I'm sure the next major upgrade will be replacing the fan you don't like. You're living the dream! I recommend you replace the Glass jars with Plastic Containers just to prevent a nasty thing from happening.....

This is a great use of space! I love how you maximized your kitchen cabinet/pantry space in the front! Very crafty! Never seen that before! 👏👏👏 I would have to have a toilet though! I would cut down the bed space to have a garage space/ more storage. You have decorated the van and it looks very welcoming.

... plus, totally justifiable because... *sigh*... winter...
Pro-tip - look for second-hand mini wood stoves on Kijiji around about places like Toronto that are close to "Cottage Country".
