@@wanashthegash No, we will not be. I dont really want to get into the specifics of it(i'm honestly tired of arguing about this with people who are ignorant to this job world) just know, that I, as an experienced truck driver, do know better than the average Joe wheather or not we should be "scared" of losing our jobs to "AI". And we should not be. Here is a short semi-informational video for you to watch. He hits on a few reasons of why this isnt an issue.

Nikkiye Dettle Yeah? I listened to what Beck said, but I didn't hear him explain how truck driving as a profession is somehow safe from autonomy.
He explained how vital the trucking industry is to pretty much every other industry and all retail. He explained how there's currently a shortage of drivers.
But when true autonomy finally gets here it's going to first take all those jobs that can't be filled, then gradually all the other driving jobs as well, as trucks are replaced or retrofitted for autonomy.
A lot of delivery truck drivers will be able to keep their jobs because the job involves unloading and delivering goods, and sometimes even stocking shelves as well as just driving. Movers will still have their jobs because most of their work is moving furniture in and out of the truck. But any job that just involves driving is likely to eventually go away.
BTW: Beck says something stupid when he says grocery stores are restocked 8 times per day. Grocery stores may receive on average about 8 deliveries per day, but none of them are complete restocking shipments. No one item in the store is restocked more than once per day. Your milk delivery comes on a different truck from your Frito Lay snacks, and the Coke delivery comes in the different truck from your Pepsi products. Your breads are stocked by a different truck than your meats and vegetables and canned goods.

@@dlwatib - In the UK many roads are narrow single track lanes/roads which require reversing back to a passing spot, awkward entrances which require special maneuvers and getting out of the cab or asking another person to spot for you with parked cars preventing the maneuver etc. AI is nowhere near capable of dealing with these situations and would cause gridlock or accidents. Don't believe all the hype.

Ok. My wife and I are empty nesters (55 yrs old) and you two are probably younger than our 2 adult sons, which puts us a least a generation in front of you. But, with a few changes here and there to your van build, I would say, it is one of the best camper van builds we have seen yet for my wife and I. I mention the generation difference because your design would work just as well for us old farts as it does for you young adults. Even the dog is accommodated! I would say the design uses available space efficiently and elegantly. No unnecessary frills but plenty of functionality and it's comfortable! We are very impressed. Awesome! Thank you for sharing.

  • @TimAnder11

Very nice work. You might consider on your next build to round off all the corners with a router. I once got a serious cut on the edge of a cabinet when I was in the back of our class C RV and she had to hit the brakes unexpectedly. It required a hospital visit. Also, catalytic heaters use considerably less fuel than forced air heating. You can get a version that uses outside air for burning and venting so they are totally safe. One last thing. Everywhere hot water is used in our RV, I installed a three-way valve, temperature gauge and a line to run water back to the main water tank so that while the water is coming up to temp it is flowing back to the main tank and not into the waste tank. I installed the three way valve right next to the shower head so when showering, the water coming out of the shower head is always the perfect temp with no water waste. We were able to extend our wilderness stays by a few days with the water saved. Once again, really nice work.

The most compelling part of your van is that bathroom since I saw a lot of camper van videos and those doesn't have any. As you've said they have to shower outside which I think doesn't work always. Are there any step by step videos of the entire build?
I can only imagine what you guys can do with VW's ID Buzz (it's an e-vehicle and it's just a concept for now) or if you're given the opportunity (and perhaps resources) to design and build the actual body of the vehicle you're gonna use since I think (correct me if I'm wrong) your (and others) creativity is limited or restricted to what is offered by the vehicle's manufacturer.

You can NOT fit 2 people in that shower I call bs! 🤣 I think you couldve fit a bigger sink in there too! :) Also maybe have the countertop fold to the right instead of up above the stove so you can use it while using the stove would be a good idea! I mean that sliding table works too that was a great idea as well
I MEAN.. 3 burner stove, an oven that works, shower, fridge/freezer, thermostat?!?! amazing. Truuuly!

The Japanese concept of a (Japanese) futon on a tatami mat would work really well on your bed frame. The futon can folded into a legless couch (like a number '6', more or less). You could just put a 1" cushion under a rug in that area to substitute for the extra cushioning you would get from a tatami mat. This way, you could sit next to each other and watch tv or eat. The Japanese would use a low legged table to eat here, which of course could be folded and hung on a wall. Eating could be done sitting 'Indian' style, or the Japanese use legless chairs at these low tables for back support, which, again, could be folded for storage. Plenty of youtube videos on these things.

For whatever it’s worth, my Dad was president of the Used Car Association for the state of Louisiana and was in New and Used Car business for sixty years. We bought and sold vehicles in numerous states. I say that to tell you, ya’ll have one of the best builds I have ever seen. As a family business we have owned thousands of vehicles. You two could market this build, file for a couple of patents, and sell your ideas to Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge, Chrysler, Toyota, etc., or build custom vans and make a fortune. Please seriously consider it, make a sketch and file your ideas with U.S. Patent Office. Do some research. Legally protect your ideas first before presenting them. Congratulations on a first class build and video. Good luck and GOD bless !!!

If you research a book at the library (maybe online) called the Thomas Register, they have companies listed from all over the U.S. and some foreign countries. Call some of them, most of the toll free numbers, and you can get some free samples of different materials or products you are interested in, or expanding on. It is a great source for also exchanging ideas and possibly getting more leads for more resources. Good luck.

I started following you guys in early 2020 and the difference in quality of your videos now versus then (2018) is striking! I see the basis for the standards you were setting back then and it's been such a large improvement since. Allie has become the pro in production. Trent hasn't really changed that much and he's great at describing whatever he's pointing at!

… that depends on who’s listening I guess because I can’t listen to Trent for more than a few seconds, I’ve got adhd and listening to Trent is like torture, I love their videos but have to skip through when Trent talks as it’s too painful to listen to, it’s like he takes forever to get to a point or to say what he’s saying and it’s almost like he’s nodding off from heroin he’s going so slow but yeah, as would be expected, the quality of their videos have increased in all ways but it would be very weird if they didn’t, so Trent is too painful (for me) to listen to but I enjoy their videos and following their adventures

There's a myth that carbon monoxide alarms should be installed lower on the wall because carbon monoxide is heavier than air. In fact, carbon monoxide is slightly lighter than air and diffuses evenly throughout the room.

CO (carbon monoxide) vs O2 (oxygen)
      CO = 12+16 = 28 atomic mass

      O2 is heavier

If carbon monoxide is heavier then why is it that when a licensed and certified multi fuel or wood burning stove installation professional always insist that they are governed by law to install a carbon monoxide alarm no further that 2meters away from the stove and it has to be either on the ceiling or at ceiling height ?

If you put your bench/chopping board on runners you could just move it to the right when using the stove and then you could still utilize your bench space to chop etc while cooking :)

Kemper cars such as Mercedes, Fiat, Volkswagen are between 30,000 or 60,000 dollars, the materials for building van are approximately 10,000 dollars. The total is approximately 50,000 to 80,000 dollars, and we see the house 100 to 200 meter in some countries the same price.
