Phil Foster Park snorkel and shore dive

Phil Foster Park has a “snorkel trail”-a series of structures including limestone boulders and prefabricated reef modules covering more than two acres in 6 to 10 feet of water. To build this artificial reef system in Lake Worth Lagoon, 600 tons of rock were used.
Marine life filmed at this location include queen angelfish, French angelfish, gray angelfish, black grouper, barracuda, yellow stingray, stoplight parrotfish, bluehead wrasse, striped parrotfish, yellowtail snappers, blue tangs, surgeon fish, bar jacks, starfish, sheepshead, French grunts, and sergeant majors. Using GoPro Hero cameras and DJI Mavic Air 2s drone.
Start your dive at least one hour before high tide on the east end of the snorkel trail. Swim south, away from the beach, to the nearest structure. Then swim west with the current along the snorkel trail. If you start on the west end of the snorkel trail when the tide is rising, you will be swimming against the current.
Phil Foster Park is located at 900 Blue Heron Blvd., Riviera Beach, FL 33404.
Outdoor showers and restrooms are located in the park. Parking is free. Be aware that on most days, the parking lot will fill to capacity and law enforcement will close the entrance to the park to incoming vehicles. If you cannot find parking, drop off your gear with a buddy and find parking in the neighborhood to the east of the park.
Again, plan to arrive at least one hour before high tide. After high tide, the murky water of the lagoon will reduce visibility.
Calm seas offshore will increase visibility in the lagoon where the snorkel trail is located. Rough seas offshore will decrease visibility. Plan your dive accordingly.
When diving from November through April, a wetsuit is recommended.
Always dive with a dive flag and a dive buddy.
