    I own a 2014 Taurus SHO with exactly the same options as this car, including color and wheels (2016 offered the much better SYNC3 infotainment system) and I am very happy with this car. I bought it with 22k miles in 2017 and currently have 90k miles. It drives like it did when I bought it, and has been well maintained ever since. You will have to do Ford required services to keep it fresh, but these are nothing in comparison to a German sports sedan. Even though this car has "Ecoboost" on the trunk, it is not an MPG leader by any measure (a tune may help, and improve HP and torque). The 3.5TT engine was designed to meet or exceed V8 power and torque while getting slightly better fuel economy. It's more about smiles per gallon versus miles per gallon, and this car delivers the smiles. Get on the throttle and this car will get out of its own way very quickly, and probably beat a Challenger 5.7 Hemi in the process. And it will do really well in the snow, unlike said Challenger. I am currently having body repair on mine and have a 2022 Toyota Corolla as a rental, and I will tell you that driving the rental is like drinking a Coors Light versus a good craft IPA. And the road noise is so bad that you have to practically shout to talk to passengers. Neutered at birth. Please take a hard look at this car on Cars and Bids; it is a true cream puff with ultra low mileage. Interior trimmings are not a sea of hard black plastic like most cars these days; most everything you touch is soft and nice. This is pretty much (mechanically) the same as a Taurus Police Interceptor and our law enforcement beats the crap out of these things, and they come back swinging. Give this car a bid and enjoy the last performance sedan that Ford ever made.

      What mpg do you see with the sho? I want one as a more fuel efficient transportation, my trucks only get 8 to 10 city and maybe 13 14 highway going 65 so it doesn't take much to beat those numbers but I want something getting closer to mid 20s or higher

    • @martinmcintyre7623
      @martinmcintyre7623 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well friend, you are NOT going to get close to the mid 20's in a SHO. I might get 20mpg in my car during mostly freeway driving. Since I posted this comment, like right afterwards, I threw an engine code in this car and will likely be replacing a timing chain (and probably other things). Not a cheap repair by any measure. And not really rare for a car with variable valve timing and nearing 100k miles. It still drives perfectly. But she is still my baby and I plan on keeping her. And hopefully get at least another 90k.@@nativeoutdoors1780

    I have had my fully loaded 2013 Taurus SHO Performance Package for a year now and it feels like I've had it for so much longer. The car feels like home, bought it for 10k, and while it has given me a couple issues that were easily addressed, it is my favorite car I have ever owned. It is sitting at 151,000 miles and I have changed every fluid except the rear differential fluid. The interior has the suede inserts, and looks to be in identical if not newer condition than the SHO in this video. I love the feeling of effortless power on demand with these sedans and the tuning aftermarket is massive, but for anyone looking to purchase one high mileage or not, make sure that you are at least a little handy with working on vehicles yourself. I have worked as an interior detailer and a mechanic in my life so keeping up the SHO has been relatively easy. Other than fluids, I have changed its tires, rear wheel bearings, brake pads and rotors, puddle lights, and tightening and cleaning of other trim pieces. Looking to get a gearhead tune down the line to really spice it up. Lastly, if you're looking for high mileage SHOs, make 100% sure that they are performance package equipped. The secondary oil cooler, transmission cooler, and PTU cooler actually work unlike what some forum-goers say. When I changed my ptu fluid it wasn't in nearly as bad condition as I was expecting.

A tune is definitely needed to wake it up and reliability isn't the best, but for being the first car I'd actually purchased as an adult I'm satisfied with most of what it has to offer (Except for the sound system, the Sony sound system was terrible imho). Almost 40k miles put on since I've gotten mine.

    So I had bought my 2018 Ford SHO with close to 76,000 miles from carmax for close to 31,000$ Includes the Carmax care. (Up to 160,000 miles or 4 years which ever comes first) Haven’t hit a month with the car and it’s already at Carmax getting its transfer case replaced. Every time I would pull out of my drive way I would spot a leak. I thought it was maybe the A/C and so did my dad. Turns out it was the transfer case leaking it’s fluids. Boy does the car accelerate fast. But maybe I got the car a little defective or I need to stop accelerating hard lol. Either way thanks for the Carmax care if not I’d be wasting money on repairs. Keep y’all updated. Using a retail 2020 Honda Accord while waiting for my baby to get repaired. Let’s just say. Saving quite a bit on gas money right now🥴

    if done right, i think ford could bring back the taurus as a 4dr coupe-suv version of the explorer, to compete with toyota crown, vw atlas cross, something like that. put the powerboost hybrid system in for emission compliance but tune it well to relaunch the sho (or go out with a bang and partner with yamaha for a new motor like in the 90's lol) is it ideal? no, but is it the strategy nowadays to sell more cars? unfortunately - so might as well invest in rebuilding a model's brand to make a car suited for modern consumer demand.

    I have asked the question time and time again out there and can never get a straight direct answer on the difference between the 3.5 ecoboost v6 and the duratec 3.5 v6.
    I had the Edge, 2017 and due to FoMoCo not ever wanting to help me in any way or even properly service my car from day one after driving off the lot brand new.. I had to reluctantly get rid of it last year due to an intermittent and unexplained coolant loss. Plus the transmission was developing a disturbing "clunk" when putting it in gear from park. It had two open recalls that I had no desire addressing with them. Loved it but wasn't going to put up with the one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had to deal with. I had plans and was determined to keep it to the end.
    The Taurus there is very nice, LOVE that color.. and really like some of their cars at Ford but absolutely despise the company. A beautiful car and it's the only sedan I would drive IF I had a Ford.. otherwise I'd rather have an Toyota Avalon when it comes to any four door sedan currently out there.

    Always wanted one of these when I was younger because you could get a lightly used one for less than 30k and it was pretty quick compared to most cars back then. But looking back at it it would of been too boring, heavy, and refined for my taste. But still, great car if you want to haul a family around in comfort.

    Avoid the model years that had these style of "buttons" in the center column. They are touch sensitive and were not reliable at all...Ford got rid of them quickly and went back to normal switchgear.
    Also, for the money the Fusion Sport was a much better value. Not as quick, but just as roomy with the same features. A LOT cheaper as well. For $46 brand new this was badly overpriced.
    For the outside size of this vehicle, interior space was beyond small.
