There was a time , many years ago in Newcastle upon Tyne in England that Fenwicks Christmas window displays could not be surpassed . It seems a very long time now, but people used to bring theirLondon just to see Selfridge's Christmas window. Pantomimes, fairy tales and father Christmas would be the theme. Nowadays it has too be 'on trend', include the unsubtle hard sell and appeal to a 'knowing' demographic. Thank goodness for Fortnum and Masons who rarely let us down.
