I found sheep to be picky also, I had a crazy idea because of it, tried it and it worked! for cows also, they won't eat where they have peed, so I sprinkled some baking soda on that area, half hour later it was bare ground, ended up making a spray for it, I think it was 1/4 c baking soda to 1 gal water, salt? neutralize odor? minerals? not sure but it worked for me.
