@emersonranchhorses Any laptop or smart phone can read codes off JD. Aftermarket connectors are a thing, just like with CAT. Software is also a thing for everything with ECM's PCM's TCM's DCM's BCM's and the list goes on. A computer does not tell the problem, just a code. Hi Mike, first of all thanks for watching! We talk about the production managers here. The salary of these managers is around 75.000 usd per year without bonusses. So around 40 usd per hour.
@DriveInAction I started at Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio, in 2000. Warren operations produced wire, plastic connectors, and the metal terminals. General Motors had moved some of these products to Mexico long before I was hired. Engineers from Mexico came to Warren to see how we did operations so that they could figure out why they couldn't produce what we made. I was friends with some of the engineers, and at one point, the Mexicans were following him around trying desperately to solve a problem in Mexico. We they moved on. I asked him how their wages compared to his. Not even half. Producing metal terminals requires skill. This is one part of the automotive wire harness they just can't make. To this day, Mexico can't make or maintain the tools used in terminal production. I was told that when GM went to Mexico in the 1970s, it would take three generations for the skilled trade workers to equal the American workers. So fifty years later and they still don't match the American workers.

It's all about greed nothing more. Let JD move to Mexico, just make sure they can't sell their product back into the U.S. There's better brands on the market.
At the end of the day John Deere has good management; some/most crop prices are down, so that means less sales; so you can't overproduce, and then have inventory sitting there for a year or two.
