Sweet. I actually bought this DLC last night, ATM because I needed its editor assets for this campaign I'm tinkering with. Gonna jump right into it once I finish the vanilla campaign.
I hope they'll hire some good writers for their next game. Solasta is good, but with a better story and better characters, a game like this can become great.
When I played Mask of the Betrayer I unknowingly headed straight to the endgame area and had fun until I found out that I just fucked myself over by clearing an endgame area and getting even more OP for the rest of the content.
Currently playing through the 3rd large DLC. I chose to run it with my OG Solasta 1st campaign characters, but kinda wishing I'd chosen my Lost Valley crew as I in hindsight I enjoyed that campaign more
I liked Lost Valley more then base game. I played it first. I love how you need to use your brain. BTW my own halfling bard has the exact same lines as your rogue, despite her personality being good. I think the personality traits dont change as much stuff as we believed.
What a coincidence, I've been playing this game. I can storm the Palace for the forge or the mask, but I think I will go get that important prisoner and escort him back for the people. Great review as always.
I've never played ToEE so the list at the start for me is "icewind dale but turn-based" (well you didn't do anything with the different factions except kill them, but still...). I thought the writing was a bit better in the DLC but it's a shame if there are less banters between your party members. Well they're called Tactical adventures, not Good writing Inc ^^ Looks like the TLDR of the DLC is the good parts are better (encounter design, dungeons) and the bad parts are worse (story, quests design)
Yup that pretty much sums it up. What was already good got better, what was bad got worse (minus the bugs... those weren't there in the core campaign).
Just a recommendation you should start adding score to the end of your review, i don't know why i always thinking that is the only thing lacking in your video
Wow. Thank you for coming to my humble digital abode to share these words. Wealth, health and stealth (to elude those you don't like) for you too this year, friend.
Just so you know, your choice of personality is a complete illusion. I ran a party where all 4 had only friendly and pragmatic, and someone still said each of those lines credited to other, very different personality traits. It may tilt toward whichever character is inclined, to some degree, but no lines actually change.

I think the campaign editor deserves its own video.

I have no intention of buying this DLC or the main game, but I really enjoy your videos, so I guess I know what I'm watchng for the next half hour.
Thanks a lot. but... awe! why aren't you getting them? Both are really fun. Not perfect, of course, not by a long shot, but fun!

Well, you don't even have to escort him. He just appears in a cell in the lab. You open the cell and that's it.
@@YeOldEntertainment Happy New Year to you! He came back to the palace with me. I don't want to spoil the ending, but it was quite anti-climactic.
The evil elf guy looks like Jared Leto. It's morbin' time?
haha! yes he does
