I really like the Raven/Thunderbird character, there is just something about his personality I find appealing. I was really disappointed when he didn't return for season 2.
I also really liked the way they used the Nisse. In my country Nisses (or Nisser as we call them) is actually the term for the elfs that help santa (they are also known for other things such as being mischeavious, not all Nisses are helpers of santa but they are all connected to christmas in some way), so I was already familiar with the term Nisse but it was fun to see how the show had its own spin on the creature.
I miss Raven too, though I guess him not being there does sort of make sense, as they probably sacrificed his screen time to focus on other areas of the show. Besides, he might have just migrated away for the winter!!
OH THATS WHY HE ISNT IN THE OP
damnit my suspicions was right
he was my fav character rip
There's a deleted scene from s2 where the Raven says (off the top of my head) "I'm not just important in Trollberg, you know! Bye Hilda!"
Edit: if you search The Raven deleted scene you'll find it on YT
I wanted to say the Woodman was my spirit animal, but then the hairy teleporting homeless people show up.
As my avatar probably gave away, Hilda is my absolute favourite show right now. In fact, along with She-Ra, Kipo and Glitch Techs, I'd say it's the best thing put out by Netflix thus far 😊

Hilda is like the inverse of Voltron. It's episodic wonderfluff with cartoonish, storybook designs and little stress. Oh, and its seasons got progressively better instead of worse-
I mean to be fair... There's only two seasons. Though I haven't seen Voltron I do agree Hilda is a great show.
Nah, Voltron didn't go bad straight from the beginning. I know that Season 3 was pretty good, and I liked parts of Season 7.
I am in love with the trend of adapting old mythology into new stories( Rick riordan, gegege no kitaro, hilda, a large handful of webcomics/webseries, american gods, ancient magus bride, etc,) especially the more european focused ones like this or ancient magus bride. That mythos just has such a strong sense of wonder and otherworldliness that just fits so snugly into the real world and on top of that it's just a lovely aesthetic.
I have nothing interesting or insightful to say, but I am leaving this comment to feed the Almighty Algorithm.
My favorite part of Hilda is easily the color palatte

I'm liking the new text bubbles that move with the characters.

Wood Man is basically what you would get if Bender had been made of timber.
The wood man is the best 😂😂 i love the art, the animation, the little details, the story, the folklore, the entire thing 💖
What a great show. One of my favorites for sure. The art style does such a great job of bringing back that childhood perspective of wonder, then the amazing world-building takes it even further. Hilda is utterly fearless when it comes to monsters, taking the "invincibility of youth" to its extreme, but at the same time, she is afraid of things that real people have to deal with like hiding something she's ashamed of from her friends. The characters and writing are always on point, and my favorite is how they plant seemingly innocuous details in the background of one episode for that background detail to become the subject of a later episode. It really makes you feel like the world is persistent, not just popping into existence for the duration of an episode.
This is my comfort show. It's nothing mind blowing or anything I have to dump a lot of brain power or focus into. It's cute, it's cozy, it makes you feel good. I watch it when I just need something simple and cheery to pick me up. Good summary!!
How the Protagonist was genuinly
not fine with crowds and noise;

alfur is my favorite character along with the lost clan, i just love how they look and talk and interact with the world, every episode with them in it is my favorite, and in season two we learn that apparently elf dates are just doing paperwork together which makes sense
I love the black character introduced in season 2 who is a fan of alfur her interactions are so cute, that being said my favurite characters are alfur and woodman, they somehow give off similar yet widely different vibes heh
But looking at some details and how he knows thing I think he's more likely and criminal through time and space
that rare time Netflix recommends a good show. A nice fantasy slice of life that goes from Hilda talking to invisible elfs to accidentally stealing her friend's souls, all somehow done in a peaceful tone. it's like Gravity falls meets studio ghibli
