Now in 2023, I just updated my 2015 toyota avalon hybrid media software. Thank you . I struggled for a few times reformatting the usb drive. Finally it worked!

Did you see any issues with updating it to a much newer version? I am thinking about updating my 2018 to at least 2020 but i am not sure if it would even work or be compatible..

Update I had no luck with software update as the existing was current I got a new head unit and my 2014 4Runner still reboots randomly, any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks for this. I just put the software update on my flash drive and started reading the instructions. You cleared up some confusion I had with their instructions as written. I noticed you inserted the USB flash drive right after starting the car. The instructions have you start the car, go into the menu and slect Setup, software udpate, then insert the flash drive.
I just finished the software update. Worked 100%. Hopefully in my case it will improve Android Auto performance.

My question is that I've downloaded it for my Toyota Avalon 2014 . But , the installation package stuck at package 1 of 8 and now it's stuck in software mode . Some says it's iso file . So , I tried to use iso burner and then zip files but nothing seems to work and I don't know how to get out of update mode because my backup camera doesn't work anymore .

cant seem to update to 1010 my current one is 1008 i entered the vin number. i probably need to wipe out the flash drive have it empty or try another flash driver probably because its usb 3 im gonna try again later and update for my corolla 2020 LE

Hello, I have a 2016 corolla with a 100571 and I tried to update it, it recognized the update and I gave it the update, it took a long time from 8/12 and it never finished. After more than two hours, I found my radio turned off and it doesn't turn on at all.

I have a 2015 Toyota Highlander and it didn't work for me. I followed your instructions from start to end. I called the dealership and they said the head unit is likely going bad, but he agreed to attempt to perform the necessary update for $300 plus tax!!! Not sure what to do.

Does this fix the dropped call issues which seems to be a major issue with this stereo?
This update may fix those issues...my issue was that the audio system would randomly freeze up or reboot. It fixed those issues for me. If you end up doing it let us know if it was helpful for that issue. Thank you for watching!
I formatted my usb drive and copied the download to it and followed the steps and it’s still not even reading my usb on the vehicle (2015 4runner )

I really appreciate this video. I did everything you said, made sure my flash drive is formatted correctly, inserted the flash drive into my 2014 Rav4 and nothing happens. I did it again using a different flash drive and still nothing happened. Do you have any suggestions? I'd really appreciate your input.
I believe there is a limit to the size of the flash drive that the vehicle will recognize I believe it is 16 or 32GB. Let us know if this helps! Thank you for watching!

In Toyota camry 2016, On selecting firmware update, software update button is enabled but the popup - "The new software is..." not showing up. Any suggestions pls?

How would i do this if the display won’t fully load? Like when i start the car it just goes to a loading screen that stops at 90% and restarts
That may be a bigger issue than the update will fix…maybe others on here can give their insight on whether or not this will work for you.

I have a 2020 ORP 4runner. My navigation gets me close to areas but instead of saying on left or right. It will say you reached your destination.
Is there away to update that? Im in the city and roads have 3 lanes.
I don’t think there is an update that will address that. It seems that some of the mapping software that these systems are based on will only bring you to a point on a road that the address is located at. Hopefully this helps! This does not update the map....that is located on the micro as card that is inserted under the micro sd logo on the head unit. Thank you for watching!

That is the exact issue I was having on my system...it would freeze up and then randomly reboot. @@5MinuteFixit just tried to update appears done already current 0101D8 is on my unit before I tried to install update yet my 4 runner keeps doing it and it caused an engine stall in traffic had to coast into gas station. Any ideas? Good info definitely subscribe
The engine stall shouldn’t be caused by the radio malfunctioning, maybe an electrical issue with the whole vehicle. My 4Runner has a recall for the fuel pump that could cause the engine to stall. You should look into any recalls for your 4Runner. Thank you again!

I've always had this same issue as well and I can't find an update for my stereo system anywhere online. It's like all the files have disappeared and nobody can help to upload my specific vehicle stereo software at all. I have a 2014 Toyota Rav4 with the Entune system, no navigation or anything special. I've had to resort to using an app on my phone that let's you set the latency for bluetooth. Hopefully someone can help with this issue

Our Prado is the Lexus GX460 in the states but I’m not sure that update will work. I think your best bet would be to find the Toyota update website for your country and search there for your vehicle. Thank you for watching
I downloaded the update on a 128gb flash drive and it’s not showing up on the radio. Do u think the flash drive is too big? And I need a 4gb
The flash drive may be too big like you said…I believe it will only recognize 64gb or smaller if I remember correctly. Did you have any luck?

What format is your usb drive? I've tried FAT, FAT32 and exFAT but the headunit doesn't detect the update file on the drive.
Are you using a Mac computer? If so the usb needs to be formatted in exFAT or FAT32 this can be done in the disk utility. Make sure there is nothing important on the usb before you format it because I believe it erases everything. Then redo the process. Thank you for watching! Hopefully this helps!

I still haven't been able to fix the issue. I cannot log into Entune, it will not accept my VIN when I try to set up entune app. And when I try to download the software update from Toyota and download to a thumb drive, my car does recognize it on the thumb drive. I spent an hour with Toyota corporate yesterday, they couldn't help me either. Going back to dealership, corporate said my software is not the latest. I appreciate all your attempts at helping me!!!!

Does the USB drive have to be plugged in for the software update option to even appear in the settings? It doesn't appear for me. I'm using a 2013 Camry. There's only 3 options in general. Language, beep on/off, and Delete personal data.
Yes it has to be plugged in for it to show up on the screen.

I wouldn’t try, and the 2014 update probably won’t show up on your screen. Have you been having issues with the infotainment?
@@5MinuteFixit Yes, the computer looks like it's constantly crashing and restarting. When it does stay on, very few screens are accessible. The "car" screen that shows information about your trip works, the "audio" screen sometimes partially works, and the "apps" screen will attempt to show up but will crash the computer the instant the apps menu loads, sending it back into a loop of restarting constantly. I can always get to the startup screen via a physical button above the screen. When I go there, the "Bluetooth" and "Phone" options don't work when you tap on them, they just beep acknowledging you selected them, but they don't open.

My Toyota Avalon 2013 car after starting the Bluetooth system, GPS, radio are completely normal and work, they work even for a few hours when the car is on, but after stopping and turning off and starting again, they stop working and until the start They don't work the next day

There may be a country specific website that would have that in the list.
There's 2 updates on the site. Could I put the two files on the USB at the same time or do I have to do it one at a time?

Is your vehicle new or less than a couple years old? If so you may have the most recent version of the firmware already installed.
Finally got the download thank you did you ever encounter engine stall along the same time radio blank out ? I did do you think this will work with Bluetooth of an apple I phone 12?

Your best bet is to go to the website listed and enter your VIN number to see if there is an update then go from there.

No, using a Dell computer. Downloaded the update onto USB and retried it several times but no luck.
The only thing I can suggest is to make sure the usb is completely blank no folders or anything, maybe just erase totally and reformat.

I only get an .iso type file when I download from Toyota. Tried that but no worky.
Ah - manual says FAT32 format on the USB. I re-formatted as FAT32, put the .iso file on the USB and it worked w/ my 4Runner. It's a 2012 if that helps anyone...

@@5MinuteFixit yeah I’ve been threw it a few times now and unfortunately it still says it has trouble initializing Bluetooth. Annoying to but a new car and something as basic as Bluetooth doesn’t work. I know 2009 model cars with see less Bluetooth my god! There is some benefits of it?
The issues that I had were Bluetooth connecting issues and also the whole unit would restart randomly and lose settings. This update fixed those issues. Thank you for watching, hopefully this helps!
