- Rav4 radio after 7 years is looping through the boot cycle.
I used the repair service from this site robertsaudio.com/services/
You can search for them on ebay. The diagnostic fee was $35. Whatever they diagnosed and you don’t want to fix, they will ship it back at their shipping cost.
Costs:
$35 ebay diagnostic
$24 shipping to them
$500 for the unit with entune navigation
Thanks for the video, my RAV4 is such a good car. It’s a bummer that the radio broke. 😢
Almost 7000 views?? We need a class action lawsuit if they don't do a recall.
You have to report it to the federal government to issue a recall. Everyone needs to
Let's do it ..this is a ripoff by Toyota
How bout a number..or department..I'm lost
Let's do it ..this is a ripoff by Toyota
Dealing with the same thing in my 2014 rav 4. Been about 10 days since it started acting up. Seems like there needs to be a recall!
Good luck. Yes this thing needs a recall because too many people are suffering.
Same thing happened to mine yesterday! Right after I replaced the battery. Super frustrating.
Sarah- pls see comment from Gerald
Pero que fue lo que le reparaste
Lo quitaste y que le hiciste al stereo
I had mine fixed at OEM Auto Audio, Inc. in Manlius, NY - very quick process. So frustrating that this is an issue.
what was the process they did to fix it? Did you ship them the radio? Glad you got yours fixed. We have a 2014 with the same issue.
Hi , currently my 2015 Camry is also having exactly the same problem. Can you share the link of the people who fixed yours ?
Hello- thank you for stopping by. The link is in the description of the video.
Thank you thank you! If I already got it diagnosed from Toyota would I still need to pay them again in order to get a new radio ?
Sorry I missed your message. I suggest you give them a call for more details. Their info is in the description
My mom's 2015 was doing same thing after alternator was replaced. I put car in reverse for 5 min and not sure if it was that that did it cause right as it got to end of loading bar I removed Sim card while still in reverse and it started working
Wow u are a lucky one. Thank you for sharing your experience. I had tried that as well and did not have any lucks. Hence, I had to purchase a replacement
Thanks so much! I been looking for a solution for 3 months now. I have a question maybe you can answer. This started after I received a device from my car insurance company to use to get a better insurance rate. Is that anything to do with when your mom’s started doing this? Thanks.
Thank you for stopping by. No, my mom did not install any devices for any insurance provider.
Mine started doing this not long after I connected a dash cam. I can't say for sure it was the cause but I wondered if it was connected. I also realized later that my car battery was getting old. Sure seems it's connected to a power issue.
@@csm1813my radio as well stopped working after I had installed a dash cam? any suggestions you did to fix yours?
Please report Toyota to the NHTSA!!! This is apart of the department of transportation!!! I just did this only! Toyota cannot ignore this ridiculous issue
Summary: He explains the problem, says he couldnt find the solution, bought a replacement, and shows the installation.
Awww thank u for stopping by and watching the video. Yup! That summed it very well!!
Thank you for video, great stuff! Could you please let me know the company you ordered this from, my 2015 Camry hybrid started this two days ago. Again, thanks!
Thank you for stopping by. All the details are in the description of the video.
However, there is a comment from Gerald in this video providing a few tips to fix his. Please try those method first before replacing. Good luck!
I can use my steering wheel to control the volume, change the mode,
But the touch screen and buttons on the radio itself don’t work, bought the car 10 months ago
If it is still under warranty then have the dealer replace it. Otherwise, it is out of luck.
This is happening on my 2023 LE with 2700km on it... very disappointing to say the least
This is horrible because they should have a way to pretend it. Sorry to hear that
Here for the same problem 😭 started acting up 3 days ago screen is stuck on the reboot screen
pls see comment from Gerald and see id that would solve your issue
What model year rav4 again?
2014 xlr
Dealing with same thing with mine
@@shelbynichole32 it is frustrating. I know how it feels that is why i posted this video as it was the only option i have. Best of luck
Same thing happened to me this morning. What I did was I removed the fuse and put it back in and the radio reinstalled itself and fixed itself. Try it out if you are experiencing this issue.
What fuse did you remove? Where is it located?
Which fuse
@@isiaettedarden1831 the radio fuse in the fuse box under the hood.
Can you please make a small video of it
@@shaherbano1858 I’m sorry but just look it up it’s a size 10 fuse and when you open the fuse box on the driver side under the hood you should be able to see it. Flip the lid of the fuse box over and you should be able to spot it.
Does the replacement have GPS?
Yes it does
Interesting.......
Is there a user method to update the map data?
@@halo3odst the new radio does not use the sd card.
@TKBlog
However just to confirm, you know for a fact that the replacement one DOES have GPS functionality?
Because im looking for a VERY specific set of models to put into my car, and the old one that broke in yours is one of those models.
This is because i am under the impression that all of the other CD models that dont use the SD card DO NOT have GPS functionality.
@@halo3odst this system is using an entune navigation. You can google entune navigation for more details or call the repair place under the description for more options
Known problem. Had to replace ours. Sorry expensive to fix.
Yeah. Expensive too fix so i ended up replacing it
@@TKBlogwould the warranty cover it. My mom has a 2014. At the end of the three year lease she bought a 7 year extended warranty. It expires in July.
@@davidshumway9639 i cant answer this as I don’t know what is covered by the warranty. You may want to contact them
@@TKBlog I looked over the contract and it's covered. Gotta get ahold of the dealer to get it in.
There are two ways to reset your 2014 Toyota RAV4 stereo system:
1. Hard reset: This will erase all of your saved settings, including your radio presets and clock. To do a hard reset, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the ignition, but don't start the car.
2. Press and hold the APPS button on the radio.
3. Cycle the headlights three times (turn them on and off three times quickly).
4. Release the APPS button.
5. Press and hold the INIT button on the display until a dialog box appears asking if you want to reset the system.
6. Select "Yes" to reset the system.
2. Soft reset: This will not erase any of your saved settings. To do a soft reset, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the battery for about 30 seconds.
3. Reconnect the battery and turn on the ignition.
This is from BARD
What’s the INIT button?
@@desireedyallI don't have one either. My radio is the base model, no nav.
what is INIT button
Might get an android radio
Like i had shared in the video, the android radio would required you to install another backup camera. I want everything original for my mother
Mine does this too :(
Yup! Very disappointed. But for my mom i had to replace it for her out of my pocket
@@TKBlog dang. I just priced a new one out. Seems like what we will have to do as well :(
@@epicmealswithjess yup! Took me a while to decide to go this route. I could not find any fix or anywhere else that iw cheaper than this place. I didnt want to buy the androids device bcuz I want my mom to have the original look as she is not tech savy. Decided to create this video due to frustration but at least provide solutions
@@TKBlog happy I found your video. Thanks!
@@epicmealswithjess aww thank you for stopping by
Toyota just told me 800 to 1000 to fix ,
Yup. That i shared my solution on here.
Computers are only good for about 5 years … cars back in the day had solid-state radios, but now you have a computer in your car welcome to the Brave New World of George Orwell… 😮😅
@@AskthePoolman yeah i know right. Years ago the radio doesn’t die . Now, everything is controlled by a screen. If it dies, things will change. 😒
