Such a shame how American veterans are treated. I work for Medicare and see it all the time. They don't sign up for medical thru Medicare because you have to pay for it, and they have the VA. I think about it all the time. For such a patriotic country that takes so much pride in the military, it seems that if you come home too broken to be "repurposed" by the system, you lose your worth. There are several videos of people doing charity work for the homeless in which after a few minutes of conversation it is discovered that they are war veterans who lost everything because their health was not good (either physical or mental). It's really depressing. They are human weapons, if they break just discard and recruit others.

although you see it in the media often, actual cases of people stroking out while driving aren't as common. 90% of the time someone driving crazy on the road is either drunk or on drugs
plus, if the guy hadn't run over the their firend, the cops probably would have pulled him over then send him to the hospital once they saw he wasn't drunk

If they treated Leon and covered the bill themselves, the VA would just send them more vets to treat with treatments not covered
and having to treat 1000s of people for free would bascially bankrupt the hospital so they wouldn't be able to help anyone at all
they literally spell it out in the video: they can let Leon die and use the case to raise awareness and incentivise the VA to give the vets better care
