another great video! tip to get the drawer to slide a smidge easier - wax the bottom of the drawer. it will create a slcker surface - some folks use surf board wax, or ski wax, and others just use a candle from dollar tree rubbed on the drawer bottom. hope that helps

A couple of suggestions. On the curtains especially the one on the left side get Velcro with the glue or sticky back. Cut squares of it and put it on the bottom hem at each bottom corner so you can tack them down snug which will help hold them into the brackets. It will give you more privacy. And on the side that flips up. It would keep them in place when the side is open. So they don't hang in your view. Then when you want the curtains open then take the bottom corner in the middle and put the middle tabs at the outside tab and it will hold the curtains open. The other thing on my mind is your jackery and now the extra tools. I would build a cabinet around the jackery that allows for ventilation but keeps it hidden from thiefs . Keep the curtains closed when parked and traveling. If they can't see what's inside they might not hit your camper when you are out hiking around. Also have a fire extinguisher mounted to a wall so it's easy to reach in a hurry. Be safe out there and pro active in protecting your possessions and yourself. Keep it up. I am enjoying watching your content.

You should try to stick to the same brand tools and get the deals with the battery. That way you never have to worry about cords or losing a battery and not having spares or don't have to charge 3 seperate types of battery's with 3 separate chargers

I have reflectix for my privacy screens on my camper windows. I hang em up with a screw at each end of the window. EZ PZ. I just fold em back when i want a view to the outdoors. Belaire Camper shells put my windows up higher at my request. My bed is on an 8020 extruded aluminum frame across the back laying on the bed rails. This way, I have room for some kitchen storage and a sink with two 6 gal gerry cans for fresh/grey water on one side and small power station, and fridge storage on the other.

Try using a wire bread tie for securing the curtain rods. Thread the bread tie thru the hole and wrap around the wall attachment. Then you don’t have to worry about the tape coming off in the heat.

Suggestion for the curtain rods being loose in the bracket. You can pinch the slots that it slides into and reduce the slot enough so that the rod fits snug into the bracket. Great job on the camper

I had those curtain rods. they were always falling apart. Took them out and just used webbing screwed in on each end. They keep the curtain closer to the wall of the camper as well, letting out or in less light. I do top and bottom of the curtain as well.

For my little cargo trailer camper's windows I bought a dark colored wool blanket & cut it up for roll up & tie "curtains." I poked 3 holes near the top of each wool section & just screwed it to the wall over the window with a washer backing. The wool really blocks out the light & snoopy passersby, plus it's naturally fire resistant. I hand roll them up when I want to see out & tie the rolls with soft leather thongs or string. ***Mounting directly to the wall & having a lot of overhang of material closes gaps at night when you're in the camper with a light on; important for stealth camping in towns or cities.

  • @samwebb585

Dude, if you're struggling with the drawer you might need to remove friction as well as material. Grab a candle and rub it along the top of the drawer - it'll allow the whole thing to slide easier!

I’ve tried skateboard wax and it didn’t help too much but maybe now since it’s been sanded a little!

    • @evilcam
      @evilcam 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@JonathanYentch You could also see if you could rent, or buy an electric planer. You can take the wood off in small or larger increments, and make quick work of removing exactly as much material as you need to make it all work. You can then sand it and lube it with wax or shoe polish, when you dial it in. I use my handheld planer all the time to remove excess portions of drooping wood doors or window sashes, and it beats sanding every day of the week for time and work conserved.
Also, I think after you sand it, you should wax it or polish it, and then use white lithium grease (the spray on variety) and I bet it will open and close velvet smooth.

A suggestion for replacing curtain rods is parachute chord or long springs like those used to keep fence gates closed. This would especially be helpful for the side that opens up by installing a cord on the top and bottom. Now it won't hang down when open. Also, no rattling or bouncing going down the road.

I can assure you do not need to drill any more holes to hold the curtains back, just get the female hair ties or the ones that are elastic coiled and they will do the job to hold your curtains to the side without any extra work! Ahhh you should play with the kitty more often!

  • @grandcolorado05

Dear Jonathan, the way the curtain slides into the bracket is a good thing if your curtains stretch somewhat it could prevent them from coming out of the hooking system just reverse the hook upside down on the other rod so it can slide in and lock or another idea is to put a bread twist tie on each bracket one curtains are hung to prevent the rod from coming out.
I still say you are a smart handyman. Ok back to watching this video. . . Lol

Very helpful in not only relieving pain but it also strengthens your cervical spine to prevent future injuries. Very easy exercises, I am sure you put a lot of stress on your neck with driving so much.

The bed in your camper could use the top part but hang some over the living area with storage underneath and then it would have your head on the drivers side and feet too then you can have other things on the passenger side like storage or a bed side table …and under the drivers side part where the bed overhangs use as storage or put a fridge there

For your drawer, consider buying those thin cutting mats. Cut them in strips and glue them to the bottom sides that are in contact w the bottom of the box. A continuous strip would be best but you could probably get away w less. Ideally the strips would be on the drawer and the box, but you might not have enough clearance. If the top of the box comes off/opens, the strips might be better attached to the bottom of the box. It is meant to reduce friction so the drawer slides easier and you don't need hardware or anything expensive since you can buy cutting mats at Dollar Tree or Walmart for cheap. Just a thought. Your curtains look good!

If you're on the west coast, definitely get on the health insurance exchange for your state and see what you qualify for. If your income is low enough you may qualify for Medicaid or another low-cost insurance plan. It's not worth risking getting hurt or sick and not having insurance in the US. I got in a car accident 2 months after I turned 26 and if I hadn't enrolled in Medicaid I would be completely screwed, it ended up costing like $70,000 and I had to pay $0. Do not neglect your health just because it's easier to forget about it!

Jonathan, I think a belt sander would take off material much faster, but I know you probably don't want to buy another sander. As for the curtain rod bracket, if you wanted to, you could probably get some small, machine screws and nuts and put them through the "holes" on top of the rod. This way, the rod would not pop out.

PPPS- ok this is gettin ridiculous now 😄 I always thought your drawers were too tight on the sides, but if it's the height all you need to do is simply add some of those "chair leg glides" they come in plastic or metal. Just make sure to always start off with a thorough full body stretch before any type of workout and don’t go too heavy too fast! Heat and ice work great too. Try icing 4 times a day if you’re able.

About time you changed that headlamp bulb 😂 now you need to put a rod across the bottom also then fold the edges on your material and cut it vertical in the middle and slide rod through you seamed edges top and bottom then all you have to do is slide each half to either side and you can open all or half and don't have to be fighting with your curtains all the time.

Oh! I love Luna AND her chasing the iron cord was so cute! We have 2 Maine Coons cats so a Class C will be better for us, one day.
P.S. You can use a hair scrunchy for the tie backs.

Rub the rail of the drawers with bar soap. It will make it slide much easier.

There are lots of countries where you are required to carry spare bulbs.

You could add a hook in the middle of the rods for extra security while driving. Love you, stay safe
