Spray the mold areas with fine mist of hydrogen peroxide and let it dry before you sand it. Then repeat after sanding. A restoration specialist told me that is the best way to kill/retard mold in homes that are flooded. I used it on my mom's baseboards after her hot water heater broke and flooded her house. She hasn't had any problems with mold since.
The electrical problem is likely a poor connection somewhere that's either corroded or the prongs on a fuse are loose from overheating and also check connections for deep corrosion that has traveled up in a wire where a terminal is crimped to the wire. The other common problem is a loose or corroded common ground wire on the DC system. Good Luck on finding the problem, Take Care
I have had a wire get overheated right next to the fusebox and it needed to be stripped back to good wire and re-installed. Then i went to led’s to reduce the current load on the wires
Jonathan the dark spots on your cabinets is the varnish. What happens is that moisture, dirt and grime gets under the surface of the varnish and causes these spots. You can try cleaning them with a spic-n-span solution or Mr. Clean and soft 4 ott steel wool.
I love your new camper. Hope you enjoy a million great adventures in her. That's the first thing I did in my truck camper -- remove all the window treatments. I bought blackout curtains, cut them to fit and hand stitched them as I don't have a sewing machine. The new curtains go from top to bottom and side to side over the windows and completely covering the surrounding wall space. I did this on all windows except over my kitchen counter as didn't want to risk the stove catching the curtains on fire. Instead, I covered a section of refectix with the same blackout curtains. That way it lies flat against the wall away from any flames. Again, that piece covers the window and the surrounding wall area. I just remove it during the day to let light in. Truly makes the interior seem so much larger. I chose a light gray color. The best change, however, was sacrificing a clothes closet to install a custom made small wood stove. That looks like cooking grease on your cabinets over the stove. Try using some Awesome and a gentle scrubby on it before sanding it down. 😀
For the mold, put paper towels over areas and soak with white vinegar for a day. Then sand and refinish wood areaa with oil or polyurethane. Electrical seems like a bad ground or loose or corroded power line somewhere. Start with the fuse block. PS- that fried rice dish looked delicious! 🤤💕 and the curtain overhaul looked great as well 🤙
Jonathan, I highly😮 recommend getting some Anderson leveling blocks to assist in leveling your rig. Also, you may wanna buy a roll of reflectix at Home Depot or Lowes, cut out sizes to cover your windows and vent to help with insulation. Also, tear out that vent and get yourself a fantastic fan. It’s definitely worth the money…..p.s…don’t allow any food particles, grease or juices to go into your grey tank. Continue to wash your dishes with the wipes and only allow soapy dish water to go into your grey holding tank. Grey tanks can smell just as bad as black tanks if you’re not careful.
Well if you ever want to change the color of those cabinets or wood inside use the rustoleum transformation kit. Fell onto your page couple months ago and keep it going bro I'm hooked. Got me thinking I want to try the same camper life all the way in NJ!!
start with checking fuses then check connections + corrosion check then re-seat all the connections possible then test again. You could get stress after that. Don't get it too early!
Looks like it was a good time even though the electric thing happened. Dinner looked delish! I don't know what kimche is...but I'd be up to try it! Loved the dinner mood music-it was perfect!! The camper is looking good!
The wrinkled varnish on the wood does not look like mold. It's just from years of high temps and low temps with moisture (condensation). They make a special soap (Murphy Oil Soap) that will do a fantastic job at cleaning it. You may want to lightly sand it after just to get rid of all the wrinkles. It was so exciting to see all the lights on! For a moment?! I hope you get the electrical figured out! Once again, Thank you for sharing!
I been camping outta my truck for 20 weeks Colorado and California and now back home in the springs in Colorado It’s freezing temps in the higher country but I still plan to go up this next week for 4 days 😊 can’t get enough This Is Livin 🤙🏽
Best part of RV videos is always the cooking 🍳 whether it's outside in sub zero blizzards or inside, everything always looks delicious, they all become chef's 👨🍳. Love Kimchi.
Ya, get your electrical sorted out and start using that fridge. Should also have a fan above the stove to pull out all the cooking moisture??? I have a fantastic fan in my camper and it really moves air if you open a window.. Lookin fwd to more adventures..
What a great set up. It looks so much more open without the valances over the window. I'd recommend if you're solo to cut the table in half so you can have more of a lounge area with a table. Really opens up the isle. You'll figure out the electrical, looks like something close to the battery isn't secured well enough.
Missed you last week. You are part of my Sunday. :) Good to see you back. Wiring problems suck. Has to be one main wire giving you the problems though since every light goes out at the same time. Good luck with it. Changes look great.
My girlfriend and I live in a 1996 rv that we remodeled. Same exact hardware on the cabinets 😂 we also had the experience of being told everything works and being excited to just get going with it and finding out later a LOT didn't work.... But that's life
Recently I have gone Keto, after a lifetime of eating rice, soy sauce, fresh veggies, etc. and I am really enjoying watching you prepare the foods that I am no longer eating so frequently, lol! oh, and the rest of the video about your camper is wonderful too, I just realized why I was really enjoying the cooking the most, lol!
Ohhh, bummed about your electric. Hope you find the problem. Your "home away from home" is looking great. Improvements were... well, an improvement! I love your sweet kitty.
This is the first timer I've seen one of your videos. I'm glad it came across my feed. I'll go back and see what else you have been up to. See ya down the road!
You are off to a better start than most. Best suggestion I have for you is to never touch mold without gloves and to replace the cloth curtains with metal blinds where your stove is. Every RV I've looked at has metal blinds near that area to avoid a possible fire. I have seen an entire kitchen and living room burned to ash before the fire department was able to put out the fire. Stay Safe!!! Continue on your great journey! Best of luck to you.
The cooking may be my favorite part. I haven't had kimchi in a very long time, but that stuff looks great. In one scene from your morning, I was reminded how we have a guy around here who has a truck camper that looks like a tiny log cabin, with a literal back porch!
The holes in the walls can be treated shut with just some cotton ballls packed in the holes and drench it with super glue, then sand it smooth after dry
Love the new setup. The changes really made a huge difference! Bro, you NEED to look at the electrical. Huge fire hazard not to. You probably just have a loose wire. Follow the leads from the battery to whatever junction they hook up to.
I love the entire remodel. Thanks for moving the curtain. I was about to have a panic attack. Even if they don't catch on fire (are they flammable material?), they'll get nasty dirty so close to the stove. Big fan here.
You can use DAP Fast and Final lightweight spackling to fill those screw holes. Did it on a camper l had and unless you knew the holes were there you couldn't tell.
Awesome dinner Jonathan, and yea your right people shouldn't knock it till they tried it. Stay safe out there and have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
Hey Jonathan, I totally enjoy your videos. I also have a 1993 Bigfoot C6-11 truck camper. It took me a long time to find it up here in Ontario Canda. I have it on the back of a 1992 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 4.0 L. If you need any info on the camper, I have the manuals for the appliances and electrical converter. Pm me for more info glad to help you out anyway I can. Cheers enjoy your camper and welcome to the Bigfoot Club.
Jonathan, I have a huge Class C that I got last summer and I did cosmetic upgrades in phases too. Not all at once, and after several weeks, I'm almost done BUT continued to use it.
In a bathroom I had with some mold or mildew spots I used TSP detergent in water to wash with a scrubby pad and then rinsed with a little bleach in water and let dry, then lightly sand a little before painting. There are primers/paints with a mildew/mold/moisture resistance in the paint. Might need some mold or moisture resistant primer first depending on the paint and material you are painting over to prevent the mold or mildew from returning. There may be better materials now, this was over 10 years ago. But it worked, no more mold or mildew none ever returned.
p.s. get 120 and 180 grit sand paper for your sander. i used to work custom kitchen cabinets for s.w.i. for a few years. so if you have any questions. just ask.
Love the new camper. The old one was a classic, but this one looks much more sustainable. Can't wait to finish my build and get out there. My recent car camping trip made me realize how nice it will be to have a camper. Great video and glad you are back to it. Can't wait to see more.
Clean it with an antimicrobial and once it’s dry you can encapsulate it bullseye or killz. I do mold remediations for a living and that’s the best way to do it without actually taking something completely.
It might be just years of grime built up. If it was mold, I would think you would be able to smell it. There's a product called Krud Kutter Gloss Off. It's a great cleaner prep for painting. Just wipe it on till you achieve the level of cleanliness you want, wait about 15 minutes and paint away. So far, the only place I have been able to find it is at a Dun Edwards paint store. Make sure you get the Gloss Off, not the Cleaner. I prepped my whole kitchen and laundry room cabinets with this stuff. Much easier than sanding. It even takes off greasy stains on the walls and appliances without harming them.
Great job with the upgrades. Sometimes it is the little things that make a big difference. Have a wonderful week and good the electrical issues. Mary💕Fred
I really love the changes you made. It looks more modern and homey for you. Great job on the video. I loved the cooking music, and so glad you moved the curtain. Please make it a practice every time to move it before you cook. 🙏🏾Stay safe and thank you for the experience.
I have had curtain rods like the ones you installed. they always fell. I fixed that by putting little tiny black zip ties around the bracket and rod. but they also make curtain rods that have a built in piece to hold the rods on there.
I wouldn’t sand mold. Use a good cleaner best I’ve found is Lysol Bleach multi purpose cleaner green bottle do it a couple times, wipe with damp cloth let it dry before painting or staining.
I was asked what I missed about Portland today. I could only think of five things: 1.) Nature 2.) The Vietnamese 3.) The Koreans 4.) The Slavs 5.) The Food This channel is the memory of the good things. Thank you buddy.

Vinegar also works well to remove mold, the smell won't linger too long either. I've used vinegar to de-mold my truck and had no issue with it
White vinegar is the best way to deal with mold it kills it down to the roots.
If the ( mold) is above your stove it may not be mold but stains from steam
@@kimberlynndickens9640 or grease. That's what I was thinking.

First thing I did the with my 2014 trvl trlr was ditch the valance and curtains and reupholster the bench seats.
I'm going to try your recipe as I love Kimchi. Another great video young man and I love your camper. Coming at you from Southern Oregon
Love that you don’t mind enjoying your camper while it is still a work in progress. That is what a lot of us do! 😊
Oh, yeah! So true. 👍
Nice upgrades! Mt. Hood looks fabulous. Best wishes fixing the electrical issues. It's always something. 😊

Jonathan, your renovations are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!! You did such a wonderful job, Jonathan. I wish I had your skill!

Awesome. Be careful with the drape so close to the stove. Push it away from the stove when cooking. Beautiful scenery .
Those cabinets are suitable I would paint them and replace the floors and that's it
You should put up some ambient colored light all around? Nice soft glows. These lights make it really nice, very calming moods.
