    You need to check your ac low side switch . One of those wires at compressor is ground should not light your test light.

    • @DavidTheMechanic
      @DavidTheMechanic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I changed my test light lead to the positive post so that I may check for ground

    • @makepeace2850
      @makepeace2850 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The reason the ground wire lite up because he had the test light on the positive post and he pocked the ground wire, and it's normal for it to light up.

    I hope you reply to this, So I got a can a refrigerant and the guage is in the red (check for issues) if I add a little the needle goes immediately to the low and as soon as I stop it climbs to the red. Do I need to just add enought for the clutch to engage? Would that damage the system at all? Thank you

    • @DavidTheMechanic
      @DavidTheMechanic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hope no longer for I will reply haha. Yeah if the clutch is not engaging then you can remove a shim to adjust it or it could be a power problem you may not be getting power to the clutch coil. That's the first thing you need to do is verify whether the compressor is engaging or not. But from what you're describing it kind of sounds like you might have a blockage somewhere like in the valve

    Did you ever get it fixed and what did you do. My friend has a 2011 and her AC just stopped working. The clutch will not engage.

    • @DavidTheMechanic
      @DavidTheMechanic  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I did get it fixed all I did was replaced the clutch assembly I ordered it off of Amazon and it seemed to work pretty good when I was looking for a clutch nobody had it. And the dealership wanted more for the clutch assembly then for the entire compressor which I thought was really straight so I found it on Amazon ordered it and so far so good

      @@DavidTheMechanic Just an update if anyone reads this comment. 2011 Rogue, clutch not engaging. With engine running and AC on, unplugged clutch connection and then inserted multimeter test probes. Measured around 14V, so that confirmed bad clutch. ZIP tied plug end first to one of the AC lines so that it won’t get caught in fans or serpentine belt. Test probes larger than connection pins but finally was able to get a firm connection to verify voltage. Next step clutch replacement…

      Hey, thanks for reaching out to me. It sounds to me Like something is wrong with your blower motor. It could be the blower motor itself. Or it could be. The blower motor resistor. I don't think that it's obstructed or it would make a lot of noise. But check that out and see how it goes. I wish you the best.

      @@DavidTheMechanic It is on top of the dryer, I unplugged it and attempted to put a wire between the two female connectors, there are 3 on the plug, it kills the engine and when I restart, the engine wont go above much more than a idle, i replugged low pressure switch and now it will rev up, so how do I get it to take Freon?

    • @DavidTheMechanic
      @DavidTheMechanic  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rowdy9379 well it's my experience once you introduce one can of freon into the system that's enough pressure to activate the clutch if you're having trouble with that you can always just add a jumper wire to the hot side of the clutch and that will turn the compressor on and allow you to suck in as much freon as you want but be sure to only put in the recommended amount. If the compressor doesn't work after that then you have some other problem maybe AC relay

    My G.f moms car isnt blowing air from the vents. ('12 rogue) she just paid to have the whole system rebuilt under the hood. They scalped her. Now the blower motor isnt working suddenly. I feel like it's the damm climate control. Resistor. Or Blower motor. Was searching for stats on this issue to see the most common cause. It's got about 130k. At least.. when we turn then fan control knob. Nothing happens.

      @@thesam7665 the only way I know how to test for that would be using a multimeter while it's still on the vehicle usually if a resistor is bad it will only work on high or only on low check to see if you have power going to the blower motor and you can even add an external power source to the blower motor to see if it works
