      Please ive been searching for days trying to learn and I've only scratched the surface and it seems people really dont know why the reason certain things are happening or how they interact @Motorcarnut

      I'd watch that long video. I have more time to learn and do it myself than money to spend on a mechanic that throws parts at my car on my dime trying to learn himself.

      I'm not saying all mechanics are crooked or bad I'm saying I've had some and I also worked at ADT home security. I know how badly that company screwed the customer on purpose so I'm extra careful.

    ,, everything is new except the expension valve valve My low side is 22psi when outside is 90°F ,, high side is 220,, i overcharged a bit to get this otherwise its 15psi on low side

    • @motorcarnut
      @motorcarnut  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Unfortunately that may very well be the problem the expansion valve

    Hello it's me again, I found you again! Lol
    So my question today is that my AC compressor clutch keeps turning on and off constantly? Low on freon? 2012 honda crv touring
    I recently changed the battery because it was idling in drive thru tim hortons ac on and battery light came on, air bag sign came on, steering light came on, was able to drive home and turned it off, tried to start it again and it wouldn't start with the old battery(7 years) but I think it is putting too much load on when AC turning on and off constantly, please suggestions would be helpful, thanks.
    Also I am from Canada, can I put 134 instead of 134a? I don't think they sell 134a, or should I go to dealership to get it charged?

    • @motorcarnut
      @motorcarnut  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Make sure your alternator is charging properly too. I have a video on that as well. The AC will cycle on and off if it's not that warm out, that is normal as long as it feels colder through the vents than outside temperature. But yes it can still be low on freon. No, do not mix R134 with R134a. Better off to get it charged at a local dealership.

    What is going on if the low side pressure is all over the place? For example, on Monday it is holding at 35 p.s.i. but then on Tuesday it's 150 p.s.i. Could it be a leak in the system with the compressor sucking in outside air?

    • @motorcarnut

      Bad or going compressor

    This was very informative, nice job explaining different important points. 👍 A lot of these videos only cover a couple points but leave out a lot of what you covered here which are important, such as letting it sit for 15 minutes and check static pressure, and the pressure based on the temperature. Nice job!

    randomly stops cooling, it was low and I topped it off. Now it cools really good when parked. But when I drive it cools but then randomly it starts smelling musky damp and starts blow regular air not cool. And if I would stop and start the car again. It would start cooling again😮‍💨

      You have to know how an A/C works before you can understand the temperature/pressure relationship. If you want to know you will need a book and some study before you will understand. You can't lean from a 10 minute video.

    • @motorcarnut
      @motorcarnut  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @rhelouin Modt people don’t have the patience to watch a 10 minute video let alone read and study a book, lol

    My vehicle was blowing cold but overheats when AC is on. Low Freon can cause vehicle to overheat. I decided to add Freon and now my AC is blowing hot. The gauge is not helpful to know whether to add Freon or not. This video did not help either. The gauge from the store is ROCKET SCIENCE. TH-cam has not helped either 😢
