    I like the little instances of Tommen's innocence and kindness before he got a major role, especially in the scenes of this episode. When Joffrey shows his mockery play of the war, innocent Tommen first laughed but stop once he saw Tyrion's face, and now this scene, when Joffrey spilled the wine on Tyrion, he looked disgusted by his brother's actions but there's also a sense of him already used to it.

    • @HartlyLion
      @HartlyLion ปีที่แล้ว +210

      Yeah, Tommen is a good kid, unfortunately he was too naive and easily manipulated.
      If he had enough time with both Tyrion and
      Tywin, both having their best qualities projected onto Tommen, he would've not only been a great leader to the Lannister house, but as a king as well.

      @@nk-dw2hm Cercei as a mother is one who spoils her children and inadvertently encourages her children's biggest characteristics
      For Tommen and Myrcella, they're a bit spoiled but nothing more than is otherwise considered ordinary for their place in society (they are the Prince and Princess afterall)
      The reason why it's different for Joffrey is because Joffrey has a history of psychological issues. This is someone who, as a small child, slit open a pregnant cat to show his father the unborn kittens.
      I'm willing to argue that because Joffrey is the oldest son (and therefore the heir to the throne), he had an even higher chance of these disturbing tendancies developing into something much worse (as we see in the events of Game of Thrones/ASOIAF)
      King Robert Baratheon is a neglectful father. He never attends the pregnancies of Cercei and only gets involved with his children when he has to. This means he gets most involved with Joffrey, who he treats quite badly. That cat killing fiasco? Robert's response was to hit Joffrey and then call it a day.
      Tommen and Myrcella mainly just get the undying (albeit enabling) love of Cersei, who does shelter them too much from the outside world but isn't too much of an issue
      Joffrey is a boy with a personality disorder, enabled by his mother and is constantly abused by his father. Unlike his siblings, he's being told everyday that one day he will be the most powerful person in the realm
      Joffrey is different to Tommen and Myrcella both because he has some sort of psychological or personality disorder the other two do not have and receives different treatment from an abusive father that the other two do not recieve
