Myrcella's murder was such a disgrace to Oberyn's memory. He would never have even considered harming her for anything her family did. He prided himself on Dorn's protective culture in regard to children. He died trying to avenge the murder of an innocent woman and her children. Disgraceful.
The plot line was a play to the history of the Prussians in our world where much of the political machinations was weilded surredeptiously by the wives and consorts in the harem. If course, the similarities are extremely loose, in our world when one became Sultan one would murder all brothers and half brothers to avoid the throne being challenged at a later date hence the consort of one ruler would rarely be taken or protected by the brother of a fallen ruler.
"died peacefully" she didn't drop and boom she's dead. She was choking in her few moments before passing away. Her death wasn't peaceful, like most people who get poisoned.

I liked Ellaria in the books. In the books, she was against the Martells desire for revenge. Yes, she was distraught watching the love of her life die in front of her, but she was more concerned about her daughters' well-being.

If Doran were not so soft, then everything would be fine. Ellaria and her daughters have repeatedly shown that they do not care about the ruler Doran and his relationship with the king. They had their plans for revenge and they did not hide them. This was quite enough to at least take them into custody. And in the best case - executed for treason.
I just realized Jaime never got the chance to tell his kids he loved them as a father...he watched them but they never recognized him as their father. But Myrcella knew and that's, really really sad. He finally has that moment and seconds later, it's ripped away from him.

If anyone is interested what was Dorne really up to... (spoilers) As Oberyn puts it, his sister, wife of Rhaegar, was raped and killed by Lannisters. He wants revenge, but his older brother Doran is more patient and calculating. Doran's daughter Arianne (smart girl who uses her wits and sexuality - close to Cersei, but much more likeable) and Oberyn wants to use Dornish laws (the oldest child inherits, not the oldest son) to make Myrcella the Queen. Myrcella in the books is around 10 years old, she is fierce and smart for her age, she even have courage to talk back to Joffrey. She is basically how Cersei sees herself - as a strong lioness (fun fact - Cersei blames everyone that they don't take her seriously because of her gender, but she doesn't give a shit about Myrcella and favoures her beloved Joffrey). Arianne tries to finish what her uncle started, but Doran stops her and reveals his plan: making an alliance with Targaryens. Viserys was supposed to marry Arianne, after his death Doran sends Arianne's brother to Dany and Arianne to man who claimes he is Aegon, son of Rhaegar and Elia. Showrunners were afraid that fans would be lost and uninterested, so they butchered Dorne. Dorne is not about strong women killing men and calling it success. Dorne is about equality, being strong together (just like Starks or Tyrells). They are okay with their sexuality... and god, they are insteresting in the books. All of the Kingdoms united by Aegon, except for Dorne. It almost seemed like they were testing Targaryens (even if they were not part of Kingdoms, they still mourned death of the greatest King Jaeherys I.).

Jamie is secretly a romantic and Myrcella was ready to marry the love of her life and it was all taken away from her because of her mother. She loved that prince
It melted my heart when marcella said to jami that she knows he is her father, and at last jamie's eyes were giving expressions like at least one child understood his feelings truly and she said she is glad for that. I really felt the the man jamie reached his peace at last. But everything is lost in the next minute as the beautiful, innocent and kind hearted mercella fell in jamie's arms in her last moments.

It made no sense to me. She was in love with Oberyn who was against hurting children, she wouldn’t have killed Cersei’s child to avenge him. If she was going to kill anyone it would be Cersei for not killing The Mountain when he committed crimes against their family.

The problem with this show is that they kinda killed characters right to left so in order to not run out of them in the later seasons, they just all developed massive plot armours.
I don't even know if I called it 'love.' I think it's more of the way Tywin 'loves' too. It's rather 'possessive' and not sincere genuine affection, it seems like. Cersie ignored her two younger ones in favor of Joffrey. She only got 'troubled' when they were either 'murdered' (Joffrey) or seemingly manipulated by other party except for herself (Tommen--Cersei wanted control over Tommen) then like Tywin's 'concern' for Tyrion when he was taken, Cersei only was truly concerned after Oberyn's death about the safety of her daughter....But I suppose it's the Lannister brand of love.
Myrcella died because of Tywin Lannister. He's the one who gave the Mountain the orders to R and kill Elia and her babies. Oberyn wasn't in the Capitol for Cersei. As you saw... He was there because he wanted Tywin to be held responsible and for the Mountain to die Cersei wasn't to blame for this. Plus, Oberyn would never blame a child for their parents sins. That includes Cersei and her children. He wouldn't take revenge byproxy and would HATE what the Sandsnakes did to Myrcella. Oberyn made sure she was happy in Dorne and having a good childhood and being treated well. He would have despised that Myrcella was murdered for her families sins. She was a child. Oberyn would never call for Myrcella's death under any circumstance.

You know Tommen and Myrcella were always good little children when you remember the moments in the first season when they just talked to Tyrion. They had nothing against him and they were nice to him and all that. AND THEN THEY BOTH DIED. THEY DIED! :(

People critisize Doran for being weak, but really, I think he was quite a good leader. He was merciful, as any good king should be, but he stood his ground when it came to his judgement. He didn't want war, and rightfully so, especially in the universe of Game of Thrones. Under different circumstances, I think things could have gone quite differently and he could have had a very prosperous reign.
What the sand snakes did to myrcella and to the martells was truly disgusting. Innocent children and the family who took and accepted them despite being bastards. Ellaria deserved what cersei did to her.
The Sand Snakes are avenging the death of their father whose sister, the Crown Princess of the 7 Kingdoms was brutally butchered by the evil, scheming, power mad, greedy, Lannisters. Ellaria was still not as brutal when killing Myrcella. At least the corpse is recognizable to be buried. I can't forgive the Lannisters for their savagery of Eliia & her children either. I recoiled for a full day hearing & reading about the evil done to them. It was chilling. Ellaria should have hired the faceless men to get Cersei to wipe out her family as was done to Elia. So they really didn't take full vengeance. Evil begets evil. His story about the mad king might be false too. Only Bran knows for sure. Robert's Rebellion was built on Lannister lies.
The one and only time one of Jaime's children knew and accepted him as their father. It's such a rare and bittersweet moment for Jaime because this is the single time he's able to show a fraction of fatherly affection and in that moment he saw an actual life where he could be the parent he never knew he wanted to be, then like that, it was taken away from him.
The scene with Myrcella telling Jaime she knows that he’s her Father and still loving and accepting him as her Father with the background music and the hug was the second saddest scene in GOT after Daenerys’s death.

Hi all! A new Game of thrones fan here! I know Cersei is twisted and evil and stuff, but her sincere love for her daughter is something I greatly respect and admire.
Cersei: "I don't know where she came from. No meanness, no jealousy. Just good." She came from Jamie and has her uncle's traits too. And Joffrey came from Cersei.
Did you guys see the smile of Myrcella when she found out that Bran was okay. It would of been awesome if Bran and Myrcella got together, but maybe not because Bran became crippled and he became the one eye raven, but it would of been cool to see these two together.
It makes no sense that they even think about killing Myrcella, it contradicts what was established about Oberyn and his philosophy about harming innocent girls. This is where the series starts going downhill, when characters don't remain true to what was previously established about them
It happens a lot through the series just because he is wearing a gold glove. But it is very difficult to keep a part of your body still so I think they just left minute movements alone.

My absolute favourite underused character since I was a teenager. Myrcella represents the revolution of this period of our life and she had a similar path with Sansa, with a better evolution, but unfortunately a terrible ending. When Myrcella was a child, she thought that she had the bad luck to sail away from her family in the capital when her uncle gave her to Dorne because of a deal. But she actually had the big luck to live for many years in a so beautiful and exotic location like Sunspear (which was filming in Seville of Spain). She had also the luck to meet some good people there, like prince Doran Martell and his son Trystan, who loved her and they got engaged by love, not by a deal. She learnt to be independent from a so young age, she found a true love so soon, she had a great childhood even she was away from her original family and with leaving King's Landing, she actually managed to escape from all these nightmares, the Sparrows, her brother's death, her uncle's trial. She had a terrible ending, she died very young by poison when she was coming back with her uncle, but even with this ending, she lived an admirable childhood everyone wants to have. Unlike Sansa, she never lost her innocence and the child inside of her, but she was also very smart, with a so promising future. If I ever have children and manage to offer them this life with this ending, I will be the happiest dad. If I ever manage to make my child to live the happy and peaceful life Myrcella from Game of Thrones lived, become independent, find a true love, don't lose his / her childhood, live the adventure I wanted in an exotic location and learn how to love the others without want things to change, I would be the happiest dad of all. This is what we all want for our child and it's shame that his / her fate depends to other people than its own parents who raise him / her. To become independent, find a true love and be forever the child we raised, without people make him / her a terrible person, as the daughters of Ellaria. Myrcella had the most peaceful life than every main character of GOT. This is rare in our world too and that's the magic of Martin's writing.
Doran should've had the Sand Snakes executed or at least imprisoned after he caught a whiff of Ellaria's treason. It was clear that she was planning something the moment she asked how long Doran would be ruling, after they attacked and tried to abduct Myrcella and threat of the necklace. I don't even know if I called it 'love.' I think it's more of the way Tywin 'loves' too. It's rather 'possessive' and not sincere genuine affection, it seems like. Cersie ignored her two younger ones in favor of Joffrey. She only got 'troubled' when they were either 'murdered' (Joffrey) or seemingly manipulated by other party except for herself (Tommen--Cersei wanted control over Tommen) then like Tywin's 'concern' for Tyrion when he was taken, Cersei only was truly concerned after Oberyn's death about the safety of her daughter....But I suppose it's the Lannister brand of love.

For all Cersei's atrocities, her love for her babies is admirable. The way she talks about her baby girl is endearing for her character.
I agree but in the books, she only saw her as an extension of herself. When Cersei found out Myrcella got injured, she only focused on her looks rather than herself.

People critisize Doran for being weak, but really, I think he was quite a good leader. He was merciful, as any good king should be, but he stood his ground when it came to his judgement. He didn't want war, and rightfully so, especially in the universe of Game of Thrones. Under different circumstances, I think things could have gone quite differently and he could have had a very prosperous reign.

The Sand Snakes are avenging the death of their father whose sister, the Crown Princess of the 7 Kingdoms was brutally butchered by the evil, scheming, power mad, greedy, Lannisters. Ellaria was still not as brutal when killing Myrcella. At least the corpse is recognizable to be buried. I can't forgive the Lannisters for their savagery of Eliia & her children either. I recoiled for a full day hearing & reading about the evil done to them. It was chilling. Ellaria should have hired the faceless men to get Cersei to wipe out her family as was done to Elia. So they really didn't take full vengeance. Evil begets evil. His story about the mad king might be false too. Only Bran knows for sure. Robert's Rebellion was built on Lannister lies.

The one and only time one of Jaime's children knew and accepted him as their father. It's such a rare and bittersweet moment for Jaime because this is the single time he's able to show a fraction of fatherly affection and in that moment he saw an actual life where he could be the parent he never knew he wanted to be, then like that, it was taken away from him.

My absolute favourite underused character since I was a teenager. Myrcella represents the revolution of this period of our life and she had a similar path with Sansa, with a better evolution, but unfortunately a terrible ending. When Myrcella was a child, she thought that she had the bad luck to sail away from her family in the capital when her uncle gave her to Dorne because of a deal. But she actually had the big luck to live for many years in a so beautiful and exotic location like Sunspear (which was filming in Seville of Spain). She had also the luck to meet some good people there, like prince Doran Martell and his son Trystan, who loved her and they got engaged by love, not by a deal. She learnt to be independent from a so young age, she found a true love so soon, she had a great childhood even she was away from her original family and with leaving King's Landing, she actually managed to escape from all these nightmares, the Sparrows, her brother's death, her uncle's trial. She had a terrible ending, she died very young by poison when she was coming back with her uncle, but even with this ending, she lived an admirable childhood everyone wants to have. Unlike Sansa, she never lost her innocence and the child inside of her, but she was also very smart, with a so promising future. If I ever have children and manage to offer them this life with this ending, I will be the happiest dad.
If I ever manage to make my child to live the happy and peaceful life Myrcella from Game of Thrones lived, become independent, find a true love, don't lose his / her childhood, live the adventure I wanted in an exotic location and learn how to love the others without want things to change, I would be the happiest dad of all.
This is what we all want for our child and it's shame that his / her fate depends to other people than its own parents who raise him / her. To become independent, find a true love and be forever the child we raised, without people make him / her a terrible person, as the daughters of Ellaria. Myrcella had the most peaceful life than every main character of GOT. This is rare in our world too and that's the magic of Martin's writing.
