Or when they say that they are willing to work with you and grow with you but the growth feels glacial… at what point do you go “I don’t know how much longer I can wait”.

This is exactly what I needed to hear this morning. I have recently decided to unfortunately leave a relationship because of exactly these reasons and found it difficult to voice how when we were still in a relatively good place, this was no longer sufficient anymore. Absolutely beautiful

Yes... except we've been together for 30 years and he is 82 years old and I 63. Although I am growing and he is not, and I am loosing myself and it can be painful-- I'm not willing to throw us or him away. I am biding my time with creative endeavors even though by myself. Do you see how cruel it would be to walk out on an 82 years old man?

Me and my current spouse are both 30 and already grew apart in three years of marriage . I have been considering divorce strongly

The found this video because I recently had quite an argument with my twin brother , who's my best friend , and the conversation got into personal growth or change . He explained to me that the last time we hung out , I was the same quiet person I have always been and that he felt my circumstances were not challenging that. That way I hung out with him and he introduced me to a friend. I'm not sure what to do about this . . I constantly feel like I'm explaining myself to him. . Partly because I feel hes wrong and partly because I feel like people drop their own opinions about growth into others

    Scenario..
Say you're dating someone for 18 years and have children together but prior to you and the kids..your other half was legally separated after being married for 3 months and has no relations with their ex anymore ( out of state- no kids )
Says they're inlove and all the wonderful things
But has yet to filed for a divorce. " never the money " ( around 400$ ) is what im told.
What would ya say to that?

Would someone telling you that they "quit trying a long time ago" mean that they disconnected from the relationship, is that the same thing? I know it sounds like a lame question. I've been pinned as the bad guy for the divorce. I hate that, but I could feel the disconnect long ago, even though communication on my side was always open.

This is what happened to me. My ex did not want to move... And he left when I pushed him. Still hurts like hell.

I can't understand how after being together for many years, people can grow apart. It's like they never knew each other in the first place.
I have been in a few relationships and i think i might've grown apart with the person who i was with for over a year and i half because he told me that i am just going along with things in the relationship without having a say or idea of what to do. And i found that absurd because i was like i am happy so what's the issue. Maybe he sensed that i was not actually happy but just in it because we spent so many moments together in that short time.
Now I'm in the longest relationship of my life, 6 years almost. And will be getting married. I know 😃. But it always feels like butterflies when i see him and i cannot imagine not having him to share any and everything with. There is so much to do in the future even though we spent so many moments together. So I don't understand how ppl can grow apart with someone they're so used to everyday. Like how can u imagine ur life without them.

Wait i don't understand did you break up with the guy that told you you going along with everything or is the 1 you getting married to? If so how did you overcome that moment that he criticised you

A woman will say growing apart from attention from a social media site, men have hobbies, like fishing/hunting etc, but women now, their hobbies are attention period!

And their version of growing apart is more money and a more fkd up world than they wanted or expected.
