PokeRogue is a unique rogue-lite experience set in the Pokemon universe. Unlike traditional Pokemon games, PokeRogue features procedurally generated worlds, meaning the map and encounters change with every playthrough. This injects a hefty dose of strategy and replayability, forcing you to adapt to ever-changing situations. Additionally, while it doesn't have permadeath like some Roguelike, PokeRogue offers a challenging experience that requires careful planning and resource management.
The Let's Try series is a way to preview / review games in order to get my first impressions through the first moments of gameplay.

A 4x flamethrower against a dry skin Parasect from a +6 Typhlosion? That man had his whole existence erased from the timeline
What's that, x27?
In short terms a thanos snap
Yeah, it's just a casual 2700 power move, so I think that parasect is just a pile of ashes.
The math: 90 base power x4 (+6), x4 (type effectiveness), x1.5 (STAB), x1.25(dry skin) = 2700
For the record: Terapogos had 3 normal attacks and rock polish, so the literal only thing it could do against a ghost type was sit there and wait. That's why it used rock polish like 5 times in a row
I completely feel you. Throwing a pokemon you raised for a 100 levels just feels wrong
Love this series just makes me sad when he neglects his typhlosion yknow? (For legal reasons this is a goof)
This series is already part of my routine, please continue!!
The games may not teach you about STAB, but that didn't stop my Sceptile from rocking Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm and Mega Drain
And also False Swipe, to catch lower leveled pokemons
This is peak title writing.
The school’s classes in Scarlet and Violet teach you quite a bit about Pokémon and I think including the STAB boost explanation
Pokemon academy/trainer school have been around since forever, but the first time I recall reading about stab in-game was in Pokemon diamond
@@hugofontes5708Yeah they only used to cover the surface knowledge (water is weak against fire!) until in later games.
Sc/V is probably the best way thus far how they explain the majority imho. But I might be biaised since I really liked how they included and incentivised it in the game, instead of being a building you could easily overlook it.
I think they expanded a bit on it since gen 5. I recall the school in that gen going into a bit more detail if you talked to everyone there, but I might be misremembering
Happy Friday afternoon! I'm home from work, I have snacks, and I'm ready to be entertained! 🎉
11:57 night shade though. night shade on typhlosion would be pretty good. just doing 94 damage when capped, or even more after that
I can always re-learn it
Found this game and series a bit ago and am finally caught up! Been loving the series so leavin a comment to please the algorithm
Froakie can be mixed physical or special but is typically run as a special attacker when paired with protean. Idk about ash its been a while.
Iirc it's because of water shurikens being a special move?
I will keep coming back for these videos if you keep putting them out
For when you do use Terapogos. Terapogos has the effect where he turns into the Stellar type when he is Terastallized, defensively he will stay the same (normal type weakness/resists) however Stellar type moves are super effective against other Terastallized Pokemon.
Terapogos signature move Tera Starstorm was only partially implemented so it may be worth looking into whether the Pokemon is worth using now, or waiting for it to be fully implemented.
Note: STAB works differently for stellar Terastallized Pokemon, each move type will have a 2X on the first time you use it afterwards will only have a 1.5X bonus.
Run 12, current wave 71, starting team, houndaur, wooper, shiny cubone. The third or fourth item I got was an exp all. So it's going alright so far.
Saw new episode and I click. Its that easy.
Easiest thing in the world
Whenever I see lycanroc all I can think of is those truck commercials.
Everytime I watch these videos it makes me want to make the game and try over and over to beat classic and hope to see more videos it’s nice to watch just wish I had a shiny ✨ and good video 👍
Regarding Garganacl, it would make more sense to call Gargasalt instead of Garganasalt, right?
Good catch with the legendary! The first one I caught was Wu-Xien (i think thats the spelling?) and ironically I've found (and captured) another one in other run hahaha. Pretty cool design and usable I assume, but I'm also not keen on using legendaries (or at least not starting with one).
i really wish the Mega/GMax items were passives. You find them and mega/max a pokemon and it becomes permanently background on future runs so they are always available instead of MAYBE finding them.
I had a run where i got Mega Bracelet in first 5 floors and never found a mega crystal to use on any mons.
absolutely insane thumbnail it goes crazy
Can't believe this is still going lmao
Im.... Caught up! Finally!! Awesome series, i cant wait to see more
The nice things with these is that you do so much better at the runs than me. I think both my last two ended to the staravia during the rival battle at 25
the first 30 zones are pretty rough, barely have enough gold and xp to get through
27:20 me when my quilava is being neglected 😊
Looking forward to 195 cause that 145 fight was tight.
Such a squad you have, love you love the game, love you olaying the game!
Already excited for the legendary run
I mean theoretically, won't mons stop naturally learning moves after 100? You'll have to rely on good TMs for a better Fairy move on Togekiss.
Loving this run
next run, legendary run. lets goo
Moar I need MOAAAAR
Comment to keep it going!
I was gonna ask why you don't try to catch pokemon when they survive with low HP and then it took you every single great ball to get that legendary so I'm glad you don't
Legendaries have a super low catch rate like in the games (usually 2% by default) so you pretty much need a master ball or a ton of rogue balls (because no timer or heavy ball, etc.)
i think egg vouchers should be common items
And that's why it has VILE in its name
Typhlosion used balefire. Parasect was erased from the game.
watching you cruise through runs because i cant #skillIssue :)
Don't let this series end.
destroyed 145 letsgo
50:56 Pokémon Trainers only want one thing, and it's disgusting.
Yeh oddish has always been op. Get some sleep attacks n sit back.
Comment for the algo
Unrelated to Retromation, but people who say Togepi and Togetic then pernounce it Tojuekiss make my brain hurt.
