Hi UNF, I have been wanting to try out UE for a while now and have been putting it of until I saw your tutorial. It looks exactly what I have been wanting to do but my problem is I am using the latest version of UE 5 currently 5.0.1 and my Layout is different from the one in your tutorials and this is another reason I have been putting off learning UE. Could you please, please, please export and upload your Layout publicly so I can follow along with your great tutorials? I would greatly appreciate it so very much. M.
I thought i needed blender to do this, also what clown made blender theres like zero guides and why are guide even needed in the first place it should be intuitive.
I'll be damned... I bought a full course from a well known Unreal guru, I won't name him because I actually like his content but his paid course... I learned way more following your free stuff than his paid course which I realized I knew pretty much everything he covered (like 80%)
@@joantonio6331 okay. Was just interested because I bought a course and I'm kinda curious what to expect, because I couldn't find that much about it in the internet
Wow - what a fantastic tutorial. Thank you so much, I think you covered everything anyone would need to know to get started with the modelling page. Thanks again.
comparing to other tutorials I watched, no one talks about modeling and just start placing assets from other programs. You my friend have a information worth in GOLD here. Thank you!
It's quite incredible how ingenious all of this is. Way simpler than most 3D software I've used for modelling. Thank you for taking the time to explain all of the tools. You did a way better job than even Unreal did recently.
You need a seatbelt to watch this video, and after that you will fly to Get in to Unreal Engine Modelling tool, Very very IMP video it covers all tools and its uses. Very well define its way of implementation. You need no other video if you watch it by heart. Thanks for making this video , its really time saving and Increase my confidence for UE, Again big Thanks!
It is stable enough... Sure some bugs here and there but nothing to stop you from starting making your game with it, it is not like you will make the game in 2 weeks...
@@joantonio6331 even epic says not to produce any commercial projects with it yet until they fix performance issues. Sure it's usable, but it still has tons of problems and they know it.
@@bigbossandpawla3607 well it's been a while since the official stable unreal engine 5 release. You can make your game with it now but how many indie dev have the skills and patience to make a triple A looking game...
I watched all two hours so I can model in Unreal instead of Blender. Nicely done. I just find it easier to use and this video was just so detailed with questions I always had. You answered them quite well.
First tutorial that longer than 2 hours I've watched. And that was insanely useful, I guess if you don't need the 'modifiers' there is no more need for blender to modelling things. ( I have nearly 800 hours on blender currently as I am writing these. ) and I have some solid arguments for saying these things: 1_ UE modelling tools are more optimized in case of Topology and UVs (for models that'll use in a game engine) 2_ Some tools are easy to use or faster to use compared to blender (cutting, creating custom edges etc) idk this stuff is still brand new for unreal engine, and it has a long way to go, and I can't imagine if we just have some of these modelling features dynamically at runtime (for example, a player can hold a sphere object, and another bigger, *invisible* sphere object is parented to that little sphere object on the player's hand(to move with player) and used as a boolean object for passing through obstacles like walls, buildings, etc) I wish this kind of stuff became possible.
Thank you! You are right there's a lot of potential in these tools. And they are also quite new so let's see where they can go. I wouldn't entirely replace it for modeling in another package. But, there are a lot of common operations that can be done here that could be faster to fix. The future is bright!
I'm only managing to watch about 20 minutes of this a day, but each time I do, I learn something. I'm currently trying to work out if I can step away from C4D and only model/create within UE, and the more I learn the more I think it's going to be possible. don't get me wrong, I love C4D, and it will always have it's place, but there are certain projects where I'd like to think I can do it all in UE5.
Wow! This was an incredible video and you really went into the right amount of detail to showcase these tools. I had no idea UE5 had these tools, but now that I do, I'll definitely be trying them out.
Thanks for the tutorial! Turns out that in 5.3.2 the modeling plugin is already preinstalled and enabled and you can switch to it via dropdown from Selection Mode to Modeling
Why is there so much hype around Blender? I find UE to be the most practical and effective tooling. I struggled a lot with Blender. But with UE its a Joy. Of course your tutorials are making it more joyful.
Agreed, even Maya is better to work and do modelling stuff with than Blender, Blender is such a confusing, obscure mess that requires you to memorize a trillion shortcuts..
Thank you, it will be easier now to not go back and forth to blender if it can be done inside. Now we only need shortcuts for those functions so that we can really do work fast like in blender.
It's pretty cool that all of this is possible, but I still can't do what I had hoped for: drawing shapes on faces directly and later adjusting them on the face, and after extrusion, moving the extrusion edges on the face instead of world space. This would make it very easy to create complex geometry with few polygons, like in retro games
Yeah, some other cool features may come soon. As for the extrusion, I believe if you hold Ctrl you can extrude along the face normals. Let's hope we see more updates soon!
Question for people who had try this in Unreal 5 and with experience in different modeling softwares like blender, maya, etc: Is worthit to model and sculpt in unreal? what is the diferences between Unreal and the modeling softwares that we all know?

Amazing tutorial! Question since I cant seem to find it anywhere - do we know if theres a way to give insets a numerical value for distance away from the boundary instead of it being freely placed. Think of how Blender does their inset where you can assign it a numerical increment and it moves inward based on that.
thank you. question: if i had created a boolean with UE basic shapes, how do i take the shapes apart later to remove the boolean? also, what version is your tutorial from? I'm in 5.4.4 and it's all different and very confusing. you might have to update the tutorial
It says I have this plugging but the window looks a bit different, probably because I am using the 5.3 version now. However, I do not get this extra button you show how to do in the beginning. How could I enable it?
