- Life on a boat in winter in lockdown is hard. We are filming a whole day of jobs to show you what it's like. You will get rewarded in the second half by the most spectacular views of not one but two aqueducts over the river Avon. They are very close to each other.

Some of the computerised translations for the sub titles are an absolute hoot. I loved 'awkward act' for 'aqueduct'.
Watching this makes me home sick, I come from just outside Bristol but have lived in China for the last 10 years. Love that city.
That is a lovely part of the Kennett and avon. Those aquaducts are spectacular. Stay safe and enjoy the lovely country side.

Aw you guys must of gone past our boat! We had the exact same bike in the van. An absoulute pain to fold down in the back, moving into different positions all the time!

The engineering skill that plots a level route (without needing locks) from Bradford on Avon to the Top Lock Bath. (approx 12 miles) is quite incredible

What a busy day!! Our very first canal journey was on the K&A from Bradford through Bath and onto the Avon. It's so great to see it from another perspective. We enjoyed Bristol very much!
Awww we would do that too one day. Turning around at Bath, excited to see the canal when everything is in bloom 🥰
I've somehow got captioning on and one of the funniest just happened when I read "awkward act" when what you actually clearly said was "aqueduct". You did a great, graceful job of it as well, Marina.

These longer videos are great! Excellent editing to put this all together. Some serious current on the Avon as you passed over it on the aqueducts - superb drone footage. Loved the atmosphere of the night time cruise :)

Another good one! Signed off work early to watch this, after a week of🤯! We had a weekend break in a hotel near those aqueducts years ago. Seem to remember it being really relaxing walking the towpath over them, with all that great scenery too!

from the Dundas aqueduct to Bath the road runs at the highest level followed at a lower level parallel to the road is the canal and then lower still is the railway line still parallel with the river Avon in the valley at the bottom.

You need a can of "Ready Spare" never used it on the car tyres but when my son was at school it was put to good use mending bicycle tyres and footballs it is very versatile. Halfords Wilko's and most shops selling car stuff have it you don't have to use the full can , just a couple of squirts then put it away till next time.

Loved this vlog...just a thought, why not get a white blind you can hook up when you watch your projector...you could angle it so you have a straight on view from your sofa, and take it down when you are done ❤

On the subjects of bikes, one of the towns you go through on the K&A is the rather lovely one of Bradford on Avon. That is the home of the cycle company founded by the legendary Alex Moulton and his very singular take on bikes (he also designed the suspension systems on the original Mini). They bikes are noted for their compact size, small wheels, the use of a space frame and suspension. It's designed to be taken apart and put in a smallish case and would probably make a great bike for a narrow boat or to go in the boot of a car if it wasn't that it costs from anything from £2,500 to £15,000...
It's thought by some to be he ideal travel bike. Very fast and good on poor surfaces.

Huge hugs to you all the way to South Africa 💜 The car is with us we move on a boat when we need water/fuel/etc then go back by bike or a scooter to get the car. There are plenty of free parking nearby on K&A. Hope this helps!
If you can go see the Falkirk wheel
At some stage in your boating life you need to get yourselves on to the Llangollen and take a trip across Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, then your minds will explode. You may want to tie yourselves to the boat though depending on how you are about heights 🙂. I can't get enough of that, I love it every time I go on it. As always a cracking film 💜

I think I would use one of the mooring lines to tie myself to the boat. Terrifies me seeing them standing steering next to that massive drop.

The drone shots were excellent showing the surrounding areas of the aqueduct and train tracks. I was sure that Myles would have gone with the hack for the scooter to go faster. How does your car keep up with Alba?
We go back and forth, thats why we got a folding bike to fetch the car

Yes Richard all jobs and tasks were essential. Nothing recreational, scooter/bike repair, coal Diesil for heating, water for drinking and food shopping.
Only moving boat for essential services, fuel toilet etc, crt have asked us not to move otherwise..

I don't get it. How come when everybody is having to make essential journeys only, you are travelling around as if the covid pandemic is not happening? At this time the virus was completely out of control and there were daily messages to stay at home.
Hey, thank you for watching! All of the journey were essential - we needed to fix a scooter, get a bike so we can pick our car, get fuel, food etc. We are allowed to cruise too to get water which we did, i hope that helps! 💜 xx
