Leica Q2 vs Q3 - why I AM NOT upgrading

- In this video, Junio and I discuss the key differences between the Leica Q2 and Q3 as he tries to convince me to join the Q3 party. What do you guys think, would you get the Q3 if you had the Q2?
One thing we forgot to mention was the convenience of the USB-C connections for photo transfer to your computer / phone.

I owned Q and Q2 before and I am so happy to have upgraded to Q3 as the new autofocus and new features are so significantly better than Q2. Speaking as a full time wedding photographer.

Do you shoot your weddings with the Q3?
Great videos guys. I have my Q3 in Pre order, and currently own a Q2. . I was surprised how the camera struggle in the Low Light Tracking test. Probably one of the best videos comparing the two. Great job.
Thank you! Really appreciate the kind words. We were also surprised how it struggled in low light, but is also rare situations where we would shoot in such dark conditions I think. Also, it could be that in future firmware they can tweak the AF to juggle between contrast and phase detection slightly better? We will have to see. Let us know once you get your Q3 and what you think of it, we really enjoy using it so far!

I have just received my Q2 last week but I cannot get out on the streets as I have a back injury. But I have used this time to set up my Q2. I have my name down for Q3 but I am going to wait for Q3 mono and then I will purchase it. I can't wait to get on the street with Q2
May I ask if you think the video for the Q3 is shaky for 4k 60p with ois ON (not auto)?
Hi there, yeah the footage is still a bit shaky, but with post normally it becomes quite clean
Thank you for the video, very nice to see the comparison with autofocus and high iso! Btw, the Q2 also does 1⁄40000 with it’s electronic shutter so no difference there. And also a last note on the 10 vs 13 fps. Continuous shooting on a Q is mostly frustrating, the way the camera locks up when the buffer is writing to the SD Card… On my Q2 I never enable 10 fps for this reason, it slows me down more.
Yea the main difference for me is the Q3 upgraded buffer. Can swallow 60 shots no problem. Big game changer. Will do a video on this later.
What about buying the Q3 as a first Leica?

WB is very different between the 2 IMO.
forgot to mentioned in the video both were locked a 4600 for wb so we had to tweak the wb
Difficult to get a Q3 now and need to pre-order and wait for a longtime . Will consider to a Q2 and wait Q4 this will be my first Leica camera. Don't wamt to wait for too long for it , just want to enjoy the Leica experience
Definitely, the preorder / wait for Q3 is quite long.. in Hong Kong it seems to only be widely available in September. Honestly, if you are not into the video aspect nor the additional MPs, then Q2 is a great choice. ( Optics are identical to Q3)
Q4 might fall in the same situation for back stock availability.
@@monitoaa123 I understand same situation, but since this will be my first Leica Camera , if Q4 release I can pre-order and wait for it . I want to get the camera before I am going for my long trip so I have decided may go for a Q2
Buy yourself an M10 and a lens or a CL if you want the Leica experience now. The Q2 or Q3 are not the only Leica‘s.

LMFAO I shot Q2 street in NYC comprehensively and at night and never used AF. F8 + flash and that was the end of it. I just don't gAF about AF. It's the most overrated concept in photography.
nobody is filming birds with the gdamn Q3 for heaven's sake lmfao. come on. The screen is also not flush, I think it's a step backwards. The extra MP is nice but you can upscale a clean 47MP image with AI today and you will never see the difference. The Q2 still the winner.
