Really great idea about replacing the reed valve assembly with hex heads! I'm doing that mod tomorrow, using Boyson Power Reeds and I'm glad I watched this video first. I wouldn't have thought to do that. Makes it easy to get those off in the future to replace the reeds. Thanks!
he welded it to the original flange. i have a frankenstein pw80 on a tiny pit bike frame and i put my own crank pipe 97mm from a Tomos it sounds crispy
@@alatorreracing i might just do so👍 i have done a reed block to a suzuki ds80 and a ax100 before with honda dio reeds it made so much more power after it felt like a mini rm80
So what exactly does having less balls do, and having more springs in the plate aswell as having lock washers in the clutch.. i dont really understand wouldnt that be making it harder for the clutch to engage or disengage Pls explain
@@oliverscorsim I agree I’ve seen many drag built PW80’s, but at that point in a build it isn’t a PW80 anymore. With keeping the stock chassis and maintaining its use as a dirt bike, she’s on her way to being the most built. If you’ve got some that are more built and cleaner, post em 🤷🏽♂️

Hey! They’re loads of fun once you upgrade them, plus they’re cheap to rebuild too. Personally on this PW it has an Ohlins MX rear shock out of a KX65, but you can buy a shock extender off eBay to modify your stock shock
He’s a small business, met him through two stroke pages and forums and sent him the specs of the build (carb, exhaust, etc). He does quality work and will definitely be working with him again in the future. Stay tuned for the next part of the build 👍🏽
The gearing in the video is set pretty high, the ratio being 13/35. Not the best for acceleration, got a 45t for the rear to fix that in the next video 👍🏽
Not sure if you watched the whole video, but this is a build series so you’re not getting a finished product on the second part of the series…still got work to do 👍🏽

Looks so good bro that’s wild couldn’t look better
It’s come along way 👌
Good job bro! Great build and video, hope you’ll get big soon!
Hi Alatorre! I’m restoring a PW 80 and I have a question. Where is the ground terminal connected in the bike? I don’t find it 😢
Did you get a taller kickstand? And where from?
Awesome build by the way!
Got it off Amazon, bolted right on and has plenty of adjustment for various height settings. Appreciate it 🤝🏽
@@alatorreracinglink 🙏🏼 please
There is a big crack in the left case
What would be an off the shelf cheap rear shock replacement for an adult
Off the shelf I’d go with a DNM rear shock, the 290mm 350lbs. Those are the ones they use on 110’s, sure to be good on a PW. Bolts right in
What’s the extended kick stand you used for the build?
Can you link the carb?
Please link all the parts 🙏
Where do you find the adapter pipe for the intake and the carb
Hey what’s up man do you have a video on how and what you had to do to use that kx65 pipe and silencer? That looks rad

just wondering i put a nibbi 24mm and the throttle cable was to short did you have this problem
if only they made an 100cc big bore kit that would be sick!
108cc or something be amazing
Someone needs to make a kit
Do a top speed test and you should put on a yz 65 front fender it would make the bike look a lot better
Top speed test coming very soon. I’ve thought about the fender, but we’re trying to keep it looking like a ‘PW80’ and the duckbill look 🙌🏽
Did you notice a crack near the top bolt of your clutch
So what does exactly removing that reed cage thingy that sits on the reeds do?
Allows them to open more
does anyone know where i can get a bigger intake block for bigger reeds? been considering getting a machine shop to make me a v force 3 reed cage.
@@marshallkaufman3123 there isn’t one available for purchase. You would have to make your own intake through a designer

Hey, do you know what is Winland? I got it for 350 bucks it's same as pw80, it goes and runs great
Snaps, never heard of em. As long as you can send it 🔥
my gf dad gave me one of these all I got to do is replace the ignition coil but ill prob do a few mods like you did here
Iv built a few and this is very mild still 😂 pretty sure theres atleast 50+ bikes on yt doing more on this platform

whats the rev limit on the pw80?
14k rpm in neutral, around 12k rpm with rider. Pretty wicked
