It’s finally time to build something I’ve always dreamed of. Today, I bring to you a 1996 Yamaha PW80 that is transformed into a not-so ‘child-like’ bike anymore. From a donor KX65 frame with amazing pieces, we get to work here in building THE MOST built PW80 on TH-cam, no questions asked.

PW80 Build Part 3: Derestricting the stock silencer

In the third part of the PW80 build, we derestrict the stock silencer instead of purchasing an aftermarket FMF for the price of an MX silencer. Hope this helps those who wish to make their PW80 more crisp and have a nice performance gain!
TTR125LE Build Part 2: Idler Gear Replacement (Electric Start Fix)

Here with the second part of the TTR125LE Build, and today we replace the idler gear (gear that connects the starter to rotate the engine). For an electric start bike, such as the TTR125LE, this is a crucial part in order to get that satisfying push button start. This was a very simple and straightforward replacement. When doing this, make sure to tighten everything down firmly before starting.

I love it when they say not seen a more built or cleaner one lol. I can promise there's more out there that hasn't been seen or in the works. But can you really call it a pw80 at this point 🤷♂️
I got some ideas for you bro. I got a 52mm big bore kit, vforce3 for kx85 and a custom made exhaust on mine
as far as i know you would need a entire differnent intake for the kx85 reeds to work and it would need to have a reed cage machined to fit the engine. sure its possible because they sell parts for honda dio's kinda similar to that. show a video!

@@marshallkaufman3123 there isn’t one available for purchase. You would have to make your own intake through a designer
@@alatorreracing i might just do so👍 i have done a reed block to a suzuki ds80 and a ax100 before with honda dio reeds it made so much more power after it felt like a mini rm80

he welded it to the original flange. i have a frankenstein pw80 on a tiny pit bike frame and i put my own crank pipe 97mm from a Tomos it sounds crispy

Did you modify the intake manifold at all? I was looking into buying the adaptor to fit a pwk19mm carb to put on my 94 pw80, seems like a 24mm might just be too much because im not sure how big the inner diameter of the stock manifold is
my gf dad gave me one of these all I got to do is replace the ignition coil but ill prob do a few mods like you did here

Would've been better of using the kx65 frame. Better rear suspension and brakes
@@xman6544 this PW80 has both front and rear suspension from a KX65, which had an Ohlins MX shock. Was better to go with the PW80 chassis for engine fitment purposes, handles great 👍🏽
Iv built a few and this is very mild still 😂 pretty sure theres atleast 50+ bikes on yt doing more on this platform
@@oliverscorsim I agree I’ve seen many drag built PW80’s, but at that point in a build it isn’t a PW80 anymore. With keeping the stock chassis and maintaining its use as a dirt bike, she’s on her way to being the most built. If you’ve got some that are more built and cleaner, post em 🤷🏽♂️

My stock 1988 ds80 gon spank it
put heavy duty clutch springs and new clutch pads they rip wayy harder with a new clutch. port and polish on the cylinder. boysen power reeds also district the motor alot. and cut off the silencer to desresict the exhaust a little bit more they are. scary fast modded

u need 2 rings it don't get rid of top end lmaooo
@@calebfigone69 you actually don’t need two rings. Running one ring benefits top end performance by having less friction, therefore revving out easier and faster. Been running the set up for awhile now 🤷🏽♂️

Really great idea about replacing the reed valve assembly with hex heads! I'm doing that mod tomorrow, using Boyson Power Reeds and I'm glad I watched this video first. I wouldn't have thought to do that. Makes it easy to get those off in the future to replace the reeds. Thanks!

How can I have a front disk setup like yours? My drum brake doesn't brake at all
It could be that your brake pads are worn, or a new cable could be needed. If none of that, most of the time the brakes need an adjustment at the drum, and should be good to go! A front disk set up will need to be collected from a 65, along with its front end for direct fitment. I do know it’s possible to have a disc on a stock PW front end, just some fab needed.

Make sure you’re putting a 65 pipe on it. Anything bigger than that is too much for the PW80 to handle with a stock bore, so if anything you’ll be going down in performance. With a 65 pipe and the right port match, you’re flying!
What pipe are you using then? Cr65 or kx65?

@@alatorreracing put a 12t on front ALSO ignore all the eating swingarm problems and people using 13ts trust me the 12t with a 32 rear is where its at or a 13t with 35t rear 13 with a 39 isnt as good like a few use and how come you went for 24mm and not 21mm carb
