      This. So many journalists have a habit of tainting their media with their own views as opposed to just giving people the facts of the matter. People should be left to formulate their own opinions of what the media shows them, not have their opinions spoonfed to them by the media they watch. All the American mainstream media channels on both sides of the political divide are guilty of the latter.

      @@EnglishLad I was thinking the other day, if news “reporters” are now “opinion” reporters; and this certainly applies to both the left and the right, can they not then be barred from locations that require press passes?
      The protections put into place for the press perhaps, not be given to any organization that proves to be opinion based speculation.
      I’m not saying I’m right just a thought to think about.

      I answered my own question by looking up bulow v von bulow 1987. The SCOTUS at that time framed that the 1st amendment right to freedom of the press applies to “every sort of publication which affords a vehicle of information and opinion.”
      So unless someone challenges that ruling I have to say I’m barking up the wrong tree.
      Honestly I felt that argument was a bit of a slippery slope anyway.

Pain is often overlapped into neuroscience as psyche can affect the perception of pain therefore when a fetus feels pain is subjective. Perhaps it does, perhaps it doesn’t. Perhaps some do early on and perhaps some don’t until they’re born. There is not a single study that can definitely prove that a fetus can feel pain at any point, any study claiming it can is ignoring the psychological factor which can’t be detected.

      @masasaxd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +76

      There is a thing called "Mootness Doctrine" in the American justice system, stating that if a controversy ends, the case falls moot and will not be heard anymore. However, in Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court modified that doctrine to rule on the case: If a right is being infringed upon only for an amount of time, which is not long enough to still have that infringement being in place, but the right naturally only stays infringed so long, the court will still rule on the case, if the infringement is likely to happen again. So while the ruling of the Supreme Court was not improtant for this specific abortion, it basically ruled on any future abortions Mrs. Roe would need.

      The issue now is that back in the 70's the Supreme Court created the 3 abortion laws, and now the Supreme Court is saying, "Its not up to us to create laws, we interpret laws. So we are over turning this and sending it back to Congress to create a federal law, is it their job and role within the government." Pretty much saying they had and have no authority to have created those rules in the first place. And because Congress has not made a law on the federal level, its falling to the states to create the laws as stated by the 10th amendment. Everything here is because, Suprise Suprise, Congress cant do their job. Thats the main issue, that The Supreme Court who's job it is to Interpret the Laws that Congress made, in fact created laws. a GROSS violation of the constitution that was kept in place because of political bias in the Supreme Court Justices until now.

      Because laws are decided by old a-holes not scientists. If the murder laws were defined by scientists a man who kills a pregnant woman would get either one count of murder or two depending on what stage of pregnancy it was. If it was early? One. If the woman was carrying it to term? Two counts. A fetus doesn’t fit the scientific definition of alive until later in the pregnancy and abortions happen in the early stages. Late abortions are really just induced labour.

      if a pregnant woman is killed, you’d guess she’d keep the baby obviously unless told otherwise so the killer would’ve taken two soon-to-be lives, even tho the kid isn’t born yet. if unfit parents decide they can’t support a child for whatever reason it’s much more responsible to abort it rather then raise a child irresponsibly just for it to grow up and be a degenerate or go into foster care. if a woman is raped she’s supposed to dedicate 10 months of her life to carry your baby, many women almost bleed out giving birth, especially young girls; while you can go live your life i have to ruin myself having a baby that could’ve literally killed me and the baby is now considered the governments property? is this fr? anyone that needs an abortion and is willing to get one clearly isn’t a good fit to be a parent

      Hi, of course, I believe that this is terrible. This will cause women who have or are having miscarriages to be prosecuted if they go to the doctor for the miscarriage. And if the doctor does work on the women, they can get prosecuted and sent to jail. So now doctors can’t perform on women with miscarriages now because they are afraid they might be prosecuted later on. This effects doctors because become a criminal and have trouble being hired again after prison. And we already have a lack of doctors and terribly understaffed hospitals. If a women had a car accident and a miscarriage they would go to jail. This is utterly ridiculous. And abortion is protected by the 14th amendment but now women are being denied this crucial right. Giving birth is extremely expensive and people will definitely go into debt causing further mental and physical stress. The woman and man who have no other option to keep the unwanted child will bear the costs of the newborn and their careers will be significant delayed. (People still in school especially. ) Giving birth is a beautiful thing but forcing someone to is ridiculous and dangerous. Many women are also staying abstinent in fear of pregnancy and since plan b and such medicine is also being seen as a form of abortion will be banned as well. Hopefully abortion isn’t going to be nationwide soon or else many women will definitely be moving to other countries including me.
