How did you manage to know when start playing since there isn´t any reference at the begining (and the rest of the begining where there inst drums)? Did you set up a click track?
Maybe thats how it sounds to you but could he play songs like this and harder for 2-3 hours straight all the time and it be considered a strange occurrence when you miss one note?
Look at the upper toggle in the beginning...it sure looks like its in the middle to me, which is mag/piezo blend. It sounds like it too, and JP said thats his favorite clean tone.
I guess he tries to show the song played on different amps. His other covers were on the Mark V 90 Watts or the Triaxis Pre into 2/90 Power amp and this time he shows off how close to Petrucci you can get using only the Mark V 35 or 25. It's actually quite awesome :)

What phaser did you use to get that clean tone? I use a multi fx pedal and i cant get the sweeping sound without lowering the volume

Jordan has that octave shift thing...its a decent reference, you can get it with a dozen tries. Or a clickety clack 'nome chug.

JPXI piezo...Mesa amp & cab. Maybe a touch of chorus and delay. Playing it cleanly and ringy on the open strings too.
