We nearly gave up. We weren't letting each other know how we felt. We held on to our anger. Even small things became reasons to end our relationship. But eventually we found a way to communicate our feelings through a couple questions game - lovify. Things finally settled down, and we now know a lot about each other:)

I got teary eyed listening to Bri because I definitely understand getting through that first year and really registering that this person is not here to hurt me but love me and I’m in my own way. And then finding your way through together. It’s really a beautiful thing tho

I relate so much to Bri! I think we were raised in similar households (just from her brief explanation in the video) and I'm struggling with communicating how I feel in my current relationship. It's hard re-learning how to express myself.

Omg I felt what Bri said so much I had the same upbringing and it’s like when it comes to communicating we just shut down or be on defense. But it really takes time to grow and break from it! I loved this episode it’s actually opening my eyes to a lot🙌🏾

Me and my husband Travis Michaud need prayers for our communication issues. I actually have a communication disorder disability. It's listening and applying what I hear to my life and expressing my thoughts and feelings appropriately. I have had this problem all of my life. His problems are with temper and anger issues. We love each other but each of us have a different disability and it makes communicating difficult.

I Love that y’all was patient with each other and was willing to put in the work to make it work. At lot of people tend to end things prematurely.

This is such a great episode! I think it’s also important to practice healthy communication in platonic relationships too. I’m not currently dating or entertaining anyone, but I’m really excited to practice these tips with my friends and family. x

Note: it’s important to note that once you stated your love language was touch, but you can’t just do that one thing… I like he continued all the others things we need in a mate!

I feel dre, I find it challenging to feel enthusiastic about celebrating occasions like Christmas and birthdays because I don't have many material desires or needs. My girlfriend, however, wants to give me a thoughtful gift, and I'm having trouble coming up with ideas. This situation can sometimes make her feel disheartened.

I can relate so much to bro! I never know when my wife’s upset and I do everything: cooking, cleaning, and helping with the kids. But I forget about the little things that matter, and I just coast through or put myself on auto pilot, and that’s fine for me, But not my wife and kids. Have to stop being so selfish and be more conscious and compassionate/considerate of my family

So I’ve been with my wife for 15 years and my live language is physical touch I’ve asked over the years for her to show me love that way. Even just a hug / snuggle what ever because it means so much to me. And she always says that’s just not who she is, or she’s just not like that. And it drives me crazy. I try and do the things that make her happy and I know I’m not peep, but I do try. I feel like I’m doing it wrong.. please help.

I think that's a long time to go without getting your needs for touch met.
Maybe you have to romance, pursue and date your wife more. For example, try giving/leaving her flowers or one of her favorite things for a week or help her with a chore repeatedly AND then see if she will become more affectionate toward you in gratitude. You can even playfully say that you're doing it all for the hugs/squeezes. Love begats love.
If these gestures don't help, there may be something deeper going on that may require a bit of marriage counseling. If your wife doesn't want to go with you, you should go by yourself b/c the counselor can give you tools to improve your communication and help you to navigate how your wife responds to you.
      Be Blessed💜

And it’s ok if one person doesn’t want to celebrate birthday or gifts.. so the question is can the person who don’t care, can they be that for their partner because it’s meaningful to them and not a check the box

This is substance.! This is not shock jock broadcasting. The content you create is sustainable and created for longevity. If k.s. had focused more on sustainable material instead numbers and shock value perhaps he would still be with us. Shock is hard on the system; this content creates growth and can be referenced for years.

I mean I watch the podcast but the first couple of minutes and when you mention how to communicate effectively and you said you had to do it through meals that’s kind of messed up because what if you’re going through hard times and you can’t do that no more you can’t go out and have meals because you’re on a tight budget that means there’s no getting through to her because of that one change in how to communicate to her effectively, you won’t be able to do as much or do at all depending on the circumstances so that’s kind of like weird to me. You have to treat somebody to a meal in order to get through to someone when speaking common sense in a relationship, where two should be understanding of one another of their needs and wants, I don’t know that sound crazy. That’s like a man saying to a woman. The only way to communicate to me is through sex other than that if that’s not happening, I don’t wanna hear anything you have to say because basically you can’t communicate to me in the way that I want you to all the way I prefer you to within you know has always double standards when it comes to the other side, sooo😌
