- Today i show you guys how i replaced the valve cover on this f80 m3. Very basic and straight forward just takes some time. I didn't have to remove or drain any coolant. This could be used when replacing the valve cover or just the gasket.
This isn’t a simple DIY for normal non auto people
Exactly
Just been to my main BMW dealer to get a price for this exact problem, plus some small valve underneath the cover, just in case. They wanted £1710.84p including VAT. 😮
😮
Holy fk
Great video!
After having a mechanic replace the valve cover on my '18 m3 comp I'm getting a ticking noise, pretty loud, that I can hear from the cabin. It's a constant, even ticking that I can mainly hear at idle and low speeds. The ticking seems to remain about the same speed even when I rev the engine.
Any idea what could be the issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks 🙏
Might be camshaft alignment
LOL love how you say um yeah pretty basic real simple after every step that would make me have a small panic attack.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to do that.
I would recommend listing the tools required in the description if you wouldn't mind.
PS looking back do you regret not taking out the coolant thingie? I saw another video where they did but they had to drain the coolant and then refill and bleed it.
ALSO did you disconnect the battery first?
intercooler can start leaking into charge pipe, best practice is to remove and see if any residue is going into the j pipe. Happened to mine, had to replace inter cooler as well. If it leaks too much into , it could be damage the engine
I would like to see a more in depth explanation, this is for folks that are well versed in mechanical issues.
For the very novice / inexperienced this does no help.
Would be a great channel if you took the time to teach
Also it seemed like there was still a whistle ?
I see I try to find a in between when it comes to explaining my videos. Some people like it when it gets straight to the point
No help at all is a bit harsh Elvis...
@@anthonyvillalpando1694 I don’t think so, it was no help at all to me. But found another guide and did the change myself with a buddy

Can u still drive for a bit after u hear the sound ?
