This is because Dean made lots of movies where he played the comedy role and comedians rarely get Oscar recognition . . . even these days. But I agree, based on pure talent, Dean was at least as talented as Bing and therefore more deserving.

Frank and bing got oscars. Dean didn't and I think that's a real disservice to a great talent.
