Thank you. I was diagnosed with “vasovagal syncope” and I had those symptoms mentioned like if I haven’t eaten or slept enough, I faint. Also, I believe I have the most dangerous form described as I, a day after consuming too much alcohol, was suggested to take a hot bath for the hangover. This made matters worse. I fainted and flatlined with the paramedics there. It was scary…obviously, they shocked me back to life, but I felt off. I’ve been to the hospital a few times because of this disorder. I work on self-care and try to avoid it from happening to the best of my ability by taking care of myself. It is scary when it happens, but relieved it’s not as serious as it sounds to me. Great info I think. Thank you.

I've had two syncopal (fainting) episodes in my life. Both of the times were scary as hell. I'd totally lose control, free fall, and would hit whatever was in front of me. I'd quickly regain my consciousness, without others' help, but only with severe body ache because of the fall. One thing that still haunts me is climbing up or down the staircase in my apartment. What if I have another episode during the process? That can be very deadly. Thankfully my doctor advised me that I am totally normal but I just happen to have it because of my poor habits (drinking very less water, and standing up abruptly from the bed/sofa). I'm now drinking sufficient water and carefully stand up from bed and sofa. I haven't fainted since... touch wood! My advice to anyone having the same issue is to meet your doctor immediately if you passed out more than once. Figure out what is causing it. The reason for syncopal episodes can be different from person to person.

I have the episodes every time which I think is syncope cause same thing happened every time I drink alot of water and everything but I don't what to do in one episode recently I lost my vision for 30 seconds and my head felt like it had a block of ice in it suddenly my head felt like there was fire in it.i don't know what to do cause every time I got to my local gp cause I thought there was something wrong with me they do blood test and say that nothing is wrong with me one time they lost my blood sample so idk if they are telling the truth they say it's nothing but each episode becomes more and more intense also I almost faint and my mum just gives me food when it happens also i lose my appetite when this happens. I am 15. Also on my recent episode of this I though it was nothing and I thought I was just being delusional so I was talking to my mum and suddenly it happened again I was trying to tell her but suddenly my speech slurred and I couldn't talk when I tried to and I lost my vision for 30 seconds and I collapsed. What should I do please give me advise?

I fainted on monday and as i fainted i smashed my head against the wall and knocked myself unconscious and was admitted to hospital. I didnt know the reason behind it as i am a pretty healthy person, i eat healthy constantly. I believe it has a lot to do with stress. Stress can impact you in many ways shape and form. Even thinking about the wrong thing at the wrong time can affect you in ways you cant imagine. Instead of rethinking everything. The best thing you can do is let life take its course. Dont dwell on things that are beyond your control. Just go with the flow. Embrace it

I had a syncope event while riding a motorcycle. I ended up falling off but fortunately I had on all my protective gear. I followed up with my cardiologist. He stopped me from driving for 4 weeks to monitor. Then he implanted a loop recorder as I am below 60bpm at rest. The talk was about pacemaker implant but no guarantees it would prevent another. I had no previous episodes or symptoms and none since. I believe I was hydrated well. The only other unusual item of note. I was riding the bike at a drag race event. The same as being at a traffic light and then going as fast as you can when light turns green. I don't remember anything after the green light. So in my research I read under stress your body can slow rate down and constrict blood flow. That's about all I can surmise.
Your video is very educational. That I may benefit from pacemaker but simple treatment like hydration etc may prevent another episode. Thks

On 1.2.2024 I experienced a syncope on saloon, barber was shaving my beard,my head was on tilt position on barber chair. Then I experienced a presyncope event.
At first my ears were felt Tinitus(ears get stunned, unable to hear),my eyes were closed that time but I felt I was blacking out, tunnel visson, then I don't know anything thing,I was became unconscious, after 1-2 minutes (according to barber) I wake up,when I became unconscious my head hit the wall, but I don't feel any pain on my head even after waking up.After waking up from the passing out I felt weak, I was sweating a lot, unable to lift my arm and unable to stand. It was pretty scary event.

Thank you. Helpful information. Passed out two times. The first time was two months ago when I had had a fall and had injured my hand a few hours before it happened, and the second time a few days ago. Both times it started with an unreasonable fear and feeling of a strong nausea and...waking up thinking where I was and what happened! I realized, according to a neurologist doctor and two other times that my blood pressure dropped by seeing blood, that I was subconsciously scared. What had scared me the second time? Watching my hand out of the cast after 2 months which was covered with filth(dead skin). I clearly remember I thought my hand is like corpse's hand; this very idea frightened me to the extent of fainting. Generally speaking, I consider myself healthy, sporty type, and happy. But, this phenomenon scared me a lot. Thank to my doctor I'm OK now. The important thing is to sit down or even lie down immediately to prevent damage to your body, particularly your head. I know you must be vigilant enough to do this, but it helps and might save your life. I did it after feeling nausea, but still I hurt my head a little. (I don't know where it hit).

I think my dad has this. He had it for three times. We did all the possible test for this, but nothing came out.
During the 2nd time, he had a tilt table test, but nothing came out, recently he fainted again in the bank, was senseless for 20-30 seconds. The problem is that he doesn't even feels that he is going to have it, or you know some abnormality of the body, nothing, there's no symptoms before. It just happens, while he is walking, he fell, the body looses control and become senseless for around 30 seconds and after that he is like "why are you holding me, what happened?" He doesn't even realize he had this, unless we tell him.
It happened for 3 times, I'm worried.

Hopefully someone in the comments section can reply please. My elderly mother who is 84 has had a few episodes recently. The first was 2 years ago, sitting down at the table talking to me when suddenly without warning she stopped talking and was just staring straight ahead, her eyes then rolled back in her head and she slipped off her chair, luckily I ran around and managed to catch her, I laid her on the floor, called an ambulance. She came around within about a minute and asked why she was lying on the floor. The paramedic said he thought she had a vasovagal episode, she had no after effects and was fine
Then about one month ago she had a fall coming out of the bathroom, she remembers nothing except coming around on the floor and she was in pain (we think she hit her head and arm on the bannister)
Two weeks ago I took her to the hospital due to pain in her shoulder and arm (she didn't want to go the doctor or hospital before then), we had to wait about 8 hours in the waiting room before we could see a doctor, she was sitting and talking to me when suddenly she stopped talking and was not responding to me, she was starting straight ahead and motionless. I shouted for a doctor and luckily they came immediately, they put her on a bed and tilted it so that her head was about a foot lower than her feet, she recovered rapidly after this and had no after effects.
I was luckily with her (she lives alone) for two of these incidents but I think the fall was similar. She doesn't remember any of this, she has no warning either. We're taking her to the doctor again tomorrow and i'd Iike to point the doctor in a possible direction (she has had an ECG and blood taken previously but everything comes back normal), does this sound like syncope?
    thanks

My kid passed as if someone just turn out the lights. No warning, sometimes she is back in a minute, most of the time 10-15 minutes yesterday she was out for over half hour. What kind of doctor do we need? What is the treatment? Any suggestions please. She passed out at twice a day and as many as twenty times in a three hour period.

I'm a 21 y.o girl and I've fainted quite a lot in my life, but my fainting episode are really painful. It starts with a light period cramp and nausea like pain in my belly area. My body heats up and I start to feel light headed, dizzy. I know I'll have an episode, so I'll sit on the ground with my head low. The pain in my stomach area spreads throughout the area, getting more and more painful. I start to experience tunnel vision at this point and my limbs feel so heavy I'm unable to support my weight. I start cold sweating. When the stomach pain is at its climax (I think), I fall unconsious.
Most recently I fell unconsious (2/3 minutes), woke up lying on the ground, then I fell unconsious again while still lying down. This time I got an anti depressant medication for the first time in a while, so I think its because of that, but that doesn't answer why I faint.
I feel like theres nothing I can do to stop me from having an episode. Doesn't matter If I lay down, hold my head low, keep standing up, drink, eat... nothing so far has prevented my fainting.
I've surfed the internet and I've been to doctors, but none gave me any clear answers.
If anyone has even the slightest idea of what this is, is this normal, is it not, hit me up please
