  • NOTE: In the video I mention that the X-H2 has a slower processor than the X-H2S, which is not correct. X-H2 has the same processor as the X-H2S. Difference is that X-H2S has a lower resolution stacked sensor.

    The X-H2 may not be new news now - it was announced on Thursday 8th September - but the decision was made not to release this video at that time.
    It was a truly sad day; the day we lost an amazing human being, who dedicated over 70-years of her life to our country. It goes without saying that it was not in one's heart nor mind to be publishing content just a little over an hour after the news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II broke.
    Along with the nation, I am mourning the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, but hope that we can come round to celebrating the extraordinary life of a great Queen.
    R.I.P. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

    Hey guys! While I love the content as of late (esp. since Lok is around), I’ve especially been enjoying the more consumer and “tech” (drones, etc.) coverage.
    Would love to see your take on smart phone photography, particularly on what a “pro” can accomplish on a smartphone camera these days. Look at Apple’s RAW format (not familiar with many others) and maybe even some 3rd party apps like Halide, Pixelmator, or Affinity Photo.
    Doesn’t have to be often, but an every-once-in-a-while video touching on the state of mobile photography would be really cool, I think. Cheers!

    If they make an XT5 with the knob per function I'll be having that.
    I hate menu diving for ISO, shutter etc.

  • @Eyeofkamau

    Super pumped about this, but a little bummed at the same time about the Front/Rear Dial settings. Looking for them to add the ability to add ISO to one of the command dials like the previous cameras via firmware update. Being limited to Aperture and SS doesn’t make much since, given that all native lenses (as far as I know of) have aperture rings. That level of customization really set us apart from other companies. But with this, it makes me feel like we’re heading towards an overly digital set up that takes away from some of what made Fuji so special and different. I think the ISO button is a great addition, as long as our options aren’t taken away. That flexibility with the dials is more suitable for fast paced shooting in my opinion. My set up was Right Index on Front Dial (SS), Thumb on Back Dial (ISO), Left Hand under lens for Aperture - it was so intuitive and fluid as opposed to having to press a button and change the ISO on screen. Too many steps involved just to change ISO.
    Would love for this to be worked out so I don’t have to choose the xt5 over it lol

    • @BrendanEvan
      @BrendanEvan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was annoyed at that at first too but I’m getting used to it. Have the up button on the back set to iso now so it’s a quick activation

    • @AyeBeAPirate
      @AyeBeAPirate 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't like that the click-in front dial was removed. I loved that. Weirdly enough, it eliminated most of the need for me to use the top dials.
      Front dial: Shutter speed / exposure compensation
      Rear dial: ISO
      Lens ring: Aperture

    • @Eyeofkamau
      @Eyeofkamau 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrendanEvan i thought of doing something similar once I found out, and likely will. That way is a little quicker, but it’s still a button to press to then activate an ISO menu on screen, as opposed to just scrolling with the dial and looking at the tiny little ISO numbers at the bottom of the screen.

    • @Eyeofkamau
      @Eyeofkamau 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AyeBeAPirate same! I used that as well. Have my top dials on the XT4 disabled because of the customization the front/rear dials allow. A little confused by these move of theirs, it’s a step back in my opinion. Looking forward to ISO-to-dial being added back via firmware

    Always love your reviews thank you!
    I’m excited that Fuji are pushing themselves and consistently making solid new gear.
    I’m super interested in the stabe and focus in video mode. I have the XT4 and LOVE it for photography, but I couldn’t deal with how unreliable the above were in video, so shelled out for a Sony a7siii which I still think is insane for video almost 2 yrs later and is my main workhorse for video.
    I love the Fuji colours and the shooting experience for photography, so I kept the XT4 and I really enjoy taking it out for the day on a shoot. But I just don’t think it cuts it for hybrid street work. Really interested to see how the HX2 fares in the real world. May consider swapping XT4 out for one, however loosing the top ISO and SS dials would be hard! Let’s see if they bring out an XT5…
    In a perfect world I’d have a Sony A1 as main machine for hybrid, use the a7siii as a second colour matched cam for video shoots, and use the XT4 purely for fun and more arty stuff, but I just don’t have the money for an A1!!!. I love how I can use the Fuji simulations in Lightroom for RAW shots and swap them out rather than relying on the baked in HEIC. It’s a game changer for me!
    New cameras are always a good thing for moving the industry forward. Great times for camera tech!

    I found this review a little confusing, are you saying the sensor in this camera is full frame medium format or the same size as Fujifilm GFX with crop? Why are there no comparisons made to GFX 100s, these cameras are the only ones like this and deserve comparison.

      Why would you compare a $1999 40mp aps-c camera with a $5999 102mp medium format camera? They're different mounts and target audiences

    Great content! You guys are the best guys! I have been watching your reviews for a long time (about 2008) and they are always very instructive and entertaining. Throughout the review I couldn't stop thinking about what camera that would be, the one you've recorded this video. Panasonic S5 is a camera that is worth it.
    Did you use manual focus or autofocus on the Panasonic S5 in this video?
    Success!!

    If you don’t care about video, why buy this instead of a Nikon z6ii or canon eos R? Considering both are full frame much better at low light and same price

      If you care about MP, it's the highest MP apsc-c sensor.

    The S in Sony cameras is for “sensitivity “. R is for “resolution”. Sensitivity for video, resolution for stills. Great video.

    I don't think the X-T5 will have an 8K option but will still use 2 UHS II SD card slots. Bit disappointed that neither of the X-H2 models came with a built in battery grip, I think Fuji missed a trick not doing that with at least one of them.

      There's no reason to limit sales by doing that, when they make rugged, solid removable grips for them

    With the x-t4 being discontinued (not in the UK yet but I believe in japan) and with how closely priced it is to the x-h2 is the x-t4 even worth it? unless you really can't afford it the x-t4 really does seem over priced now maybe the x-t5 would be cheaper when it does come out compared?

    • @jonathanhatton3412
      @jonathanhatton3412 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Sailing Sexy what puts you off it for you?
      Personally I don't see a reason to buy it (x-t4) unless it's either a good deal or you really want the manual buttons/dials on top. In the UK it's £1899-£1949 with a lens and the H-X2 is £2300 with a lens. Or £1549 Vs £1899 without a lens. I feel like the extra money is worth it.

    I have all the original f1.4 primes and the 56 f1.2. Am I right in thinking that they are now redundant with respect to Fuji’s new 40mp sensor? I might go back to pin hole photography if I need to keep upgrading my £1000 lenses.

      Your comment is now five days old so perhaps you saw the list Fuji released with the supported lenses. I don't remember all the lenses so you are better off looking that up by yourself 😅

    • @venom2k2
      @venom2k2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay, looked up the list now and yeah, you are fucked. The 16, 23 or 35 are not supported. Not even the old 56. So, yeah...go out and buy the f/2 versions or the new ones 😂
