Is there any chance you guys could add the ability to map ISO to one of the command dials like the previous fuji cameras via firmware update? Being limited to Aperture and SS doesn’t make much since, given that all native lenses (as far as I know of) have aperture rings. I think the ISO button is a great addition, as long as our options aren’t taken away. That flexibility with the dials is more suitable for fast paced shooting in my opinion. My set up was Index on Front Dial (SS), Thumb on Back Dial (ISO), Left Hand under lens for Aperture - it was so intuitive and fluid as opposed to having to press a button then change the ISO on screen. Please make this possible again. The button is cool for when using a lens that has no aperture ring, but when using lenses that have aperture rings, it truly is a nuisance to be limited to Aperture and SS on the dials

I understand your thinking here, but I also understand theirs as well. With this body being targeted at sports/wildlife and action that involves using the camera with large lenses, where you'd generally have the strap connected to the lens, rather than the body. I don't know if you've experienced this yourself, but I absolutely prefer a 2 input control in those cases, because otherwise your settings may get changed simply from the body bumping and brushing against you as you move around, especially with wildlife when you're often hiking with the body hanging from the lens. Having 2 input controls had always been a stable of the pro level Canon and Nikon bodies since I've been doing this, and something that people have come to expect with that kind of camera. Having the option would still be nice, and I'm sure it's frustrating not to have it, but I feel like a lot of the target audience of this camera, myself included, would also be frustrated by not having 2 button confirmation for something like changing ISO. Also once it became an option in the generation of cameras that came out around 2007-8, if I were in a situation where I knew conditions could be changing and I'd quickly have to change ISO to keep my shutter speed high enough, I would set auto-ISO with an upper limit and a minimum shutter speed. I'd imagine that's what a lot of people in the target market of the X-H2S are also in the habit of doing for the last 15 years or so when it comes to "fast paced shooting", and with the level of high ISO performance available these days, there isn't much of a down side. Personally I'm just glad the ISO button is on the right side of the body so you don't need to move your left hand to press it, a lot of the first bodies to include dedicated ISO buttons had them on the left side of back side of the camera, an annoyance that followed me through three generations of Nikon bodies.

@@matthewcullen7106 as I said, having the button iso is fine. I actually like it. I’m not suggesting they get rid of it. All I said was that limiting iso to that function was not wise at all. They could’ve incorporated it without taking away from what you prefer. It is simply not suitable for fast paced shooting - having to press a button, look at the screen and click up/down several times til you’re at your desired iso is a nuisance at best. I don’t get how a wildlife shooter would find that useful, you could miss a key moment because you had to go through a 3 step process just to change your iso. The body has nothing to do with whether the camera is wildlife or not. They could have still kept the same customization of Iso from the previous cameras and it would still function as you would want… you just wouldn’t use it. But for those that seek to utilize the function (iso -> command dial), at least they’d have the option. That’s all I’m asking for, is the option to be able to do that. For portraiture, street, sports, etc… that is far more suitable.
Xh2 is not a wildlife camera by the way, regardless of it’s body. H2s maybe. But the H2 - This camera is more for filmmaking, portraiture, landscape, interior photography, stuff like that. I don’t think any wildlife or sports shooter will be using pixel shift or 8k raw 422

@@Eyeofkamau I don't know if this comes from a place of ignorance, or whether you're being intentionally misleading. I wouldn't even bother replying normally, but I feel like misleading posts such as these do a disservice to other people in the community if they end up thinking the problem you've created is real and it turns them off to a product they might actually have no issue with. What you've done is created what's called a straw man argument. You've created a problem that doesn't exist, and made a case against it. This statement is just completely false and not a thing " having to press a button, look at the screen and click up/down several times til you’re at your desired iso is a nuisance at best. I don’t get how a wildlife shooter would find that useful, you could miss a key moment because you had to go through a 3 step process just to change your iso" Why are you looking at the screen? How does this become a 3 step process? ISO is displayed in the viewfinder, you press the button and turn the dial while looking through the viewfinder, that's it. Anyone who has used exposure compensation on any SLR bodies from the 80s or after probably already has the muscle memory for this. "Not suitable for fast paced shooting" Worked fine for me shooting sports and wildlife on three generations of Nikon pro bodies. I get it, you don't like it, it's not your preference and you want your complaint to be heard. Creating a problem out of it that isn't real doesn't help anyone who's trying to learn about something or make a decision though. You're taking a control convention that most wildlife photographers are extremely familiar with and have no issue with, and making it out to be some kind of awful in convenience, it's nonsense.
Second point "Xh2 is not a wildlife camera by the way" thanks, but as much as I appreciate the condescending comment from a complete stranger, I think I'll defer to my over 20 years of shooting wildlife instead. Since digital bodies have been a thing, being able to put the most possible pixels on a subject for a given distance and given focal length has been a primary concern, especially for bird and macro photography. A 1.5x crop body with the highest pixel density for that sensor size on the market literally puts more pixels on the subject for a given focal length than anything else out there. Combine that with the new offering of a 150-600mm telephoto, and this is an absolute dream setup for small bird photography. I was also actually not specifically referring to the XH2, the S model is more appealing to me personally, but either would be great for wildlife. I can't see myself replying again regardless of what you say. I just hate seeing these kinds of blatantly ignorant and closed minded comments in the community. I recommend actually trying out some of the types of shooting you think can't be done with the cameras you'd being so critical of, you might surprise yourself. And if you haven't maybe consider that you haven't before making comments that other people might take seriously, it does them a disservice.

I understand that some the XT series controls better, but there is something to say about similar ergonomic, controls and same battery. As this roles down from the GFX 100 some of us may have already developed the muscle memory to work with this to cameras. As a (mostly) landscape photographer I see the H2 as the perfect back up for the 100s, as it allows me to have a longer reach (70-300, 100-400 or Fuji 150-600) that does not exist in the GFX world. The H2S is about speed and I see it as an excellent street photography camera as well as the obvious wildlife/Sports instrument. If the budget allows getting them both solves a lot of problems

Is there any particular technical reason why the pixel shift can’t come to the X-H2S later with firmware? I hope this isn’t going to be one of those cases where a model has features held back to prevent its sister body only released two months earlier from stealing its time in the sun/sales. I can understand some of the video differences due to stacked vs non-stacked, different sensor resolutions and speeds etc, but I don’t buy the theory that X-H2S can’t do pixel shift unless someone can give a really good reason. X-Trans held pixel shift back before, but that is clearly not the case now.
I own a GFX-100S and will sell some of my older X-T bodies and go full PASM with both X-H2 variants and the 100S in my camera bag, but it would not be good if some features are held back that can be implemented on both X-H2 variants via firmware when technically possible.

Realistically speaking, the resolution difference between. 26 megapixels and 40 is merely just above 25 percent, so 5 pixels in place of every 4 on the lower pixel count sensor… very little difference in the final image result. Even though 40 compared to 26 is a 50 percent gain in total, the square nature of the sensor and pixel-count, is the background behind the statement “25 percent more resolution” being approx true

I love my X-H2 but there is one thing about the C1-C7 settings that is driving me crazy: On my older cameras (X-T3, X-T4) these settings are "loadable". When you select them, they load into the current memory and you can then adjust individual settings, and you don't lose your adjustments if you turn the camera off, and you ALSO don't change the basic custom settings when you make adjustments after loading the custom configuration set. On the X-H2 and X-H2s you can only turn automatic updating for the C1-C7 settings on or off. If it's off, any temporary change I make is lost when I turn the camera off during a shoot, and I have to remember to change it again after turning the camera on again. If it's on, I don't lose my temporary settings when I turn the camera off, but I have then also changed the basic Cx setting. Now, every evening after a shoot, I have to remember to sit down and reset my basic Cx settings to their default values. This is all so disruptive to my entire photographic workflow that I find myself almost never using the X-H2 if I can possibly avoid it. I use the X-T4 instead whenever possible, and I'm actually considering selling the X-H2, even though it's technically a much better camera. It would be a huge benefit if the custom settings could be made loadable in the same way as they are on the older cameras.
