    Brilliant video mate probably the clearest one I’ve found showing how its done 🙌

      Calum Moss thanks! I had a tough time finding something online so I figured I’d make one myself!

    great video man, super helpful. only thing is you definitely need that flex extension for your socket wrench when it comes to removing those spark plugs. my extensions were too short/too long or just wouldn't fit with the angle. wish i knew sooner, gotta go to hardware store tomorrow to get one to finish up.

    Hmm… I enjoy Kawasakis because they tend to be easier to work on. Like the z900 and zx6r have hinges on their tanks, you can just prop it up without removing the 2-3 hoses/clips. Think it is possible to just prop this tank up as well or it is necessary to remove?

    Really helpful video, greatly appreciated! What exhaust do you have on the bike?

    You can also take off the radiator at the front to get to the spark plugs :)

      You have a video for this?

    • @ekkieattic3204
      @ekkieattic3204 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No but if you screw off the radiator at the front (two bolds at top side) you can see the coils.
      Good luck.
      Oh and: nice vid here! Thx!

    Hi. Great video. Just got my xsr900 and need to exchange the plugs which was too my shock a rather cumbersome activity. How long did this take from stripping to reassembling and an particular difficulties? Chances of breaking hose or connections or are things made tough? Any details will be great

      Josh Fourie hey man, it probably took me 1.5-2 hours. This was my first time spark plug change on a motorcycle in my life. None of the steps are particularly difficult - it just takes time and patience. My advice is to take time on the various clips you’ll need to remove. Don’t try and muscle anything and ensure you’re using the correct torque when installing the spark plugs. The worst thing you can do is over torque the plugs, which will require a helicoil repair or a new head - COSTLY! Goodluck man.

      Josh Fourie oh and also, when you go to pull the ignition coils out is when your patience and forearm strength will be tested. It’s tempting to try and man handle it with pliers but like I say in the video, DO NOT use any tools as they can easily damage them. Use your hands and wiggle them around and pull on them til they pop out.

      @@11dslee thanks man for quick response. I was checking a service on a mt09 where the guy took off the radiator and he got access to the plugs. It seemed much easier. Or is from the top the only way?

      @11dslee  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Josh Fourie I’ve never tried it that way. It’s a good learning experience doing it this way in my opinion. Maybe next time I need to do my plugs I’ll try the radiator way.
