Great video, thanks for posting 👍
Cheers
Enjoyed that ! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video !
Thanks!
Same as you with th riding positions great vid
Cool, thanks
How times have changed. In the old days we had the foxtail on the back, now a camera. Enjoyed the content and review. We can get the new "lambretta" down here in Tasmania but not the RA. 😞
My 2023 GP300 has been a dream.
They are great aren't they! I've had the TASSO upgrade and it flies!
@@TonysGarage_UK I've just ordered the TG300S Euro 5, pick it up next week. My first foray away from my original Lambretta (Jet 200) and Vespa P150X (Mk1). Love my old scoots but now in my 50's and want a bit of comfort on the journeys plus I reckon I will ride a lot more with one of these, that's the plan anyway. Thanks for the video and what is involved in TASSO upgrade ?...cheers
Hi, you'll love it and as you say, will hopefully get out more on it. I've done a full series explaining exactly what's involved with the Tasso kit including fitting it. just have a look in the playlists, sit back, stick the kettle on and enjoy LOL
Great review. Riding position on the Lammie, '70s stylee, was perched on the front edge of the seat, knees splayed out as far as possible and leaning back with arms straight. Would look ridiculous now.
Lol.. Probably... But still stylish 👍
I remember it well..... when the Lambretta was actually working!
Tony can you point me in the direction of where you got the chrome strip that goes around your side panels please, I have a paint chip right on the edge that would cover nicely with the strip as its wide.
The usual online sources but I believe Halfords also sell some.
I've a GP 125 and find the suspension is great: maybe they use the same fittings for the 300 and it doesn't feel so good with the extra power? The seat height is perfect for me, but then I'm 6ft 1"!
You might be right. Don't think there's a massive weight difference either. They just feel a bit dud and lifeless to me.
Are there any after market exhaust options? And would that rasp up the engine noise?
Yep. Scorpion and PM Tuning do some, but I've just ordered a Tasso Road exhaust... video to follow 😆
What's wrong with the suspension? Is it really bumpy and does it bottom out over little bumps and stuff?
One rider and it's OK apart from hitting pot holes, which most would suffer too. But with a pillion, it's awful. Bottoms out and bounces.
I don't quite understand the logic of installing mirror extenders and then rotating the mirror heads inward to cancel out the benefit of the mirror extenders?
Purely aesthetic lol. don't think too much into it...
wish I had one of these, they are not sold in Canada ...yet
Hopefully they'll come along soon!
As far as I know: these are available in the U.S. (I'm not 100% sure, but look into it.) Depending on where you are, could you nip across the border to snap one up?
I haven't owned a single motorbike where the wing mirrors were any good until you fitted extenders....thats including a BMW R1250GSA!!
Yep, I usually end up changing the mirrors, too. The extenders were just a temporary trial, but I've ended up leaving them on lol
Very cool. I'm also very happy with my GP300. Can you tell me where you got the fly screen? Thanks.
It was on when I bought it, but MotoGB sell similar ones
Are you from teeside as wandered why go Scarborough when dealer at eston
Yep, I'm about 5 miles away from the Eston dealership, however he wouldn't touch it because I didn't buy it from him, hence I had to travel all the way to Scarborough.
Is the engine temperature usually high?
It was during running in,but better after the new oil change at the first service.
But yes, slow-moving the fan does come on quite a lot.
@@TonysGarage_UK thank you☺️
Now you have had it longer do you think it is worth buying still?
Good question. The Purist snobbery ruined ownership for me at first, but its such a good scooter you soon get over that and as the numbers on the road and at the rallies increase it's becoming more acceptable. For me its the ideal scooter. I can tour in comfort and carry a pillion no problem, safely and at motorway speeds, and it still looks the part! So yep, well worth buying. Thanks
@@TonysGarage_UK thanks for getting back. I have a gts but have been looking at these as they look great. I don't care what others think, as long as it goes AtoB and I can do the odd long trip then ill be happy, just not sure if I should wait till March for the new version
New version comes out next year, early 2024 ??? ... If you are planning on buying new I'd wait until then.
Hi Tony, do you still own it? any problems so far?
Hi, Yes, nearly 2 years later and still loving it! As far as problems... see my videos on Steering Head bearings and centre stand lubrication, both common problems but easily fixed if done early enough.
@@TonysGarage_UKHi Tony, How many miles have you done so far?
just coming up to 2000 miles
Seems like to me that there are to many mods on the scooter that need doing for me to make it acceptable.
Each to their own bud, It would be a boring world if we were all the same!
There is no Dealer nearby.....i wait.....
Good luck
what about security
No problems with security so far. I do have a video on the security I use.
Be nice to review at 10000miles
Yep.. hopefully it won't take me too long!
Not my cup of tea, I’ll be building a GranTurismo GT300 LC engine for my 1969 GP 200, with 5 speed gearbox. But to each their own.
Exactly..each to their own otherwise it would be a boring world.
Your project sounds really interesting... I'd love to know more. I was thinking of similar for my Lambretta GP but thought it would be too wide.
@@TonysGarage_UK Everything seems to fit in, I've just got to save enough and hope the dollar $ doesn't crash, lol
Best of luck with it! Will be great I think
You wont be disapointed, I have the GT240 on one of my Lambrettas which has taken me all over Europe without a hitch and will happily sit at a gps 65-70 mph loaded with camping gear. I have a Grand Tourisimo in my other Lambretta and that is almost as quick
