[AC6] Dueling Rusty the way the Devs wanted us to.

- This mission gives us everything: the perfect scenery, no ceiling, unlimited boost, the dialogue, Rusty's theme song, and the two ace pilots. They were begging us to do this. We can't do him dirty in some boring ground fight.
If you like Rusty's theme song you can see the full lyrics and song here:
• [AC6] V.IV Rusty - 'St... - เกม
I die inside everytime i see a streamer not do a literal gundam battle in this level
I feel that. Especially when I see him get Pile Bunkered into a Stun needle, one shotting him through both phases before any dialogue plays.
Next time I play this level I'm sending in my Gundam Aerial build
@@_VISKAR_not our fault we had to fight CEL 240. Devs should of thought about that and i would still be running my double laser shotgun build
@@WorldKeepsSpinninCEL isn't an excuse as people have literally beaten it without the generic Stun and Dual Shotgun builds.
@@tengen_moon7741 yeah i used double rifle double missile lightweight build and only need 2 tries to win that fight. (the wheels under the bridge before that fight actually took more tries lol.)
The best thing about this fight is when it starts, you and Rusty can boost crash into each other
I want a footage of that
they let us play fighterz in an armored core game and it was _magnificent_
WAIT, HE DOESN'T SLOW DOWN?!
I tried that but instead ended up bumping into him as if we're clashing heads at the start of our duel
@@DorianLeBlThat's how good fights start. Two anime rivals literally butting heads, staring into each other's eyes before they fight to see who's ideals get to live or die.
Did not know AC4 had an update.
@@laguz3413 Wish we had more 4A
That's not a NEXT, that's an AC. XD
Regulation 2.0 I believe had the infinite EN gauge.
Nah. This is just AC For Answer Regulation 1.15 on. XD
There's 3 different playthroughs plus there's whispers about a dlc coming at some point...
No matter what happens no matter how it ends rusty will always call you buddy.
Yup I think he’s a Canadian 👍😉
@@Mr-O-he never said sorry or aboot, or wanted timmies or some maple while riding the moose

NOT THE GUITAR RIFF MY ONE WEAKNESS ACE COMBAT REFERENCES
I think this would’ve been an even more ironic phrase to have if the VA was exactly the same one playing Solo Wing Pixy.
Yeah i dont care what anyone says, this game comes with some real emotional fights, this one being top of the list, and the last boss of the Liberator ending. I replay the worm mission just to experience the epic shots Rusty takes against the worm! Man this game was an absolute blast!
@@68freakAmen to that
“I won’t miss”
@saganpetrsmith I literally shouted after each shot. The build-up, the silence before Rusty hits it with the filthiest bass-drop shots...chefs kiss entertainment.

The perfect scenery, no ceiling, unlimited boost, the dialogue, Rusty's theme song, and the two ace pilots. They were begging us to do this. We can't do him dirty in some boring ground fight.
Not a challenge run or anything, just for fun and cool factor. Only rule: first one to land loses.
Literally felt like a Gundam fight with your rival and friend
This is the way.
It's just recreation of Kira and athrun from gundam seed
Exactly how I played
So I'm asking this question out of pure curiosity are you a gundam fan by any chance the reason why I'm asking this question is because that your AC Has the same colors as the tallgeese 2 from mobile Suit gundam wing
The Fires of Raven ending isn't the bad ending because you set everything on fire, it's the bad ending because you have to go through Rusty and Ayre to do it.
1:25 I just love this moment, they finally truly understand eachother, just like a pair of best friend, Rusty acknowledges, sympathize and respect our choice. At the same time we also give him all we have, not for the sake of killing him but because we respect his sheer mind and the choice he make. It is so heroic
they are really like kishin and cipher
rusty always reminds me of the good old "yo buddy, still alive?"
I so badly want this to be a map for PVP. Imagine the matchups!
pure chaos and i can imagine the quad users will be having a field day lmao
@@raigaLCC Yes but we can also fly for ever and catch them, but missiles spam would ruin that map.
@@angerskarin9222At the same time, infinite QBs would make it quite hard for missiles to hit tho.
Pure chaos especially with infinite dodge, boosters and the like
I'm gonna be scared of those assault boost speed demons
rusty's second wind is so awesome. when I replayed I did something similar but slapped on my best White Glint cosplay to take advantage of the unlimited EN and blasted Fall - Into the Grace.
I need to build a white glint
Bro hit that "I won't stop" like a breakdown
This is just Pixy vs. Cipher, Round Two
lord of the roundtable moment
"Where did this resolve come from? You must've chosen something, sacrificed something... you've found your purpose haven't you, buddy?"
Steel Haze Ortus's color scheme being shades of grey and THAT particular shade of blue is no coincidence, nor is the symbolism behind his emblem. The coral was burned once already, burning it again, sending it all back to Zero, again, will likely only buy time and at what cost? Just like man, by it's very nature, kills to survive and wars with itself to advance, the coral will surge again given time. No matter how many times either are put to flame they will return again. So long as Zero remains, one will grow to one hundred once more.
Humanity and the Coral, V2 and the Xylem, the Valley of Kings and the Karman Line. Rusty is right, raven did find their purpose, we're bringing the Rubicon back to Zero. And Rusty, clad in grey and blue, is here to stop us just as we once were for our old buddy in the skies over Avalon, all those years ago. And looking at him through ravens eyes, a whole world standing with him as one, the answer to Pixy's question stands right before us
"So, have you found a reason to fight yet, buddy?"
... we never had to search for one
This is beautiful
Would’ve been even more beautiful yet ironic if the VA of Rusty was Yuri Lowenthal instead. That there would’ve hit everything.
I wish there was a PvP map like this. Considering you can choose the map you want to play anyway, I think it would be interesting to see the builds that work with infinite energy.
Even without the unlimited boost, I was disappointed there was no flying Xylem map. That skybox is beautiful.
I can see why they did that though cause they wouldn't wanna spoil someone in the early game with this
So maybe later if we get pvp for early and late game we get more maps for the late game players that have beaten the story and so they can put any map including this
@@dragonslayer3552 I agree. I'm sure they're looking at the way people are playing and evolving the gameplay and building that into future DLC as well.
This almost looks like a For Answer boss fight.
Nah the ACs are actually on screen
If you can understand what's happening on screen then it's not FA
Huh. Maybe I shouldn't have been fishing for the Pilebunker kill ASAP.... maybe I should've slowed down and smelled the roses...
These roses smell like quick boosts. And they smell great.
You can replay missions lol
He truly did fly among the clouds... Rest in Peace Buddy.
I love how they give you infinite boost, it makes the fight more epic in a way
I fucking love this game and it’s story. So many people trashing the story clearly paid it no attention
the ones trashing the story probably didnt make it pass the tutorial boss! 🤣
@@MrEpicsuperman this ^
Armored Core 6 feels so old school in that regard, and I personally found that incredibly refreshing. It knows it's a game, and focuses on a good gameplay experience first and foremost. A good story is there if the player is interested, but its delivery never feels forced or overshadows the gameplay. I think the modern game industry- both devs and gamers- have simply forgotten its roots
@@ChrisPerrault
Feels like nowadays, people don't actually want games. They just want movies that occasionally let's them press a button
Nothing necessarily wrong with that, but it would suck if that's all gaming will have to offer in the future
@apophis7712 I was so mad when I found out in God of war the race when your the kid is not something you control
"I wont stop!"
Gives me chills everytime.
I feel like using the sword or dagger would've also been appropriate to the fight, kinda wish we were able to clash the blades as well during fights as to add more cool points
Someone said you can actually crash into one another at the start "which is close enough" but I need to test that before I say for sure
@@dragonslayer3552 yes you can crash into one another at the start and then immediately melee each other and see which one of you staggers first. It's very cool and I don't mind the risk of staggering first before him.
@@nicocastillo7650 yap I have already tested it its doable and super fun but sometimes he will actually try dodging away so you can't do it consistently
*Beautiful*.
I'm only mildly surprised you didn't have a melee weapon to swap to, though ENDLESS FIN FUNNELS is also a solid option. And I do appreciate the choice to go FULL ENERGY in direct contrast to his FULL KINETICS. I came into this on my second playthrough and was using a bunch of coral tech... and a laser lance.
I lowkey did Rusty dirty because he over-extended once in my fight and then I rocked him with the charged laser lance and then unloaded *everything else* and he was basically dead. I'd entirely forgotten about the whole 'infinite energy' thing because I didn't need it. I had a high thrust booster and only occasionally needed to quickboost.
Yeah I ended up going for the energy weapons / funnels just to make sure there was plenty of action on the screen. Since Rusty's kinetic weapons (needles) have almost invisible projectiles, it looks kind of barren on the screen unless you start spamming lasers / funnels. I was definitely thinking a Coral weapon setup would have fit even better from a more evil / thematic standpoint, but it's tricky to pull off while also running the ALBA body.
@@_VISKAR_do the redshift / red moonlight should be a spectacle
I personally loved this fight. It was so emotional, so powerful. As someone who loves lightweight builds, this was a dream of a fight, and yet there was still this sense of tragedy to it. Two people, once fighting side by side, now dueling to the death. This isn’t a fight that one should cheese, nor should it be glossed over. Chase the clouds from over rubicon. And appreciate a battle as intimate as it is grand
The lyrics for the theme are so tragic too once you listen to them. The first half of the fight, the part of the song that plays is Rusty revealing himself as the RLF plant, and now , with not much choice left, steps forward as Rubicons protector, and how while years of undercover work had rusted his pride, it was still a gleaming sheen under that rust
The second half is where it gets tragic, playing after you force him to use terminal armor. The lyrics become more self motivational, to an extent. Rusty realizes that you're not falling, you're not going down, and that you've already effectively killed him not once, but twice, with the second time with him piloting whats meant to be a top of the line AC. He's realizing Raven is outpacing him, flying further and further out of reach, and Rusty's desperately trying to catch up, with no choice but to keep fighting, until eventually Ortus just simply can't take the punishment Raven keeps dealing out anymore and malfunctions due to the excessive damage done causing it to self destruct.
Raven flew just out of reach, but Rusty will be remembered as the one who almost matched Raven.
Rusty deserves an epic duel worth remembering.
Fly high, buddy....
I did this as well. It was just so cool. The fight is already peak but fighting him this way makes it 10x as peak
Incoreect. Theres no soft focus filter for the tears in our eyes from fighting our buddy
The first time I fought him I dueled him blade to blade, I had a pulse blade, burst pistol and then two laser pistols, fought him in the air and kicked him for the first final blow, then when he screamed "I WONT STOP" my blood started pumping and I got literal goosebumps. This was by far the best fight in the game, not because of how difficult it was, it was just ridiculously fun and the emotions out of it were just amazing
You know what, im bringning out my Gundam Wing 00 build for this fight again.
Feels like the final fight with Pixy in AC: The Belkan War
"Found your purpose... didn't you buddy?"
PIXY?!
When you play as a lightweight with melee this mission becomes an immediate top favourite
Everything about Rusty -- his story arc, his dialog, his goddam THEME -- is so epic.
Holy moly i just noticed. I think they did the MGR thing where the lyrics on the music track only hit after Rusty gets to his second phase!
Sam and Armstrong don’t behave like this tho
No, there's lyrics before he does it
Chose the fires of the raven ending because I didnt want to kill Carla, ended up having to kill Rusty. Pain either way
And even you choose rubicon liberator walter will kill rusty.. sadge 😢
@@rednave4489against his will, then you have to kill him as well...even more sadge
@@vienle40893rd ending allmind kills everyone before they reach their potential lol
I did the same thing as well. Coincidentally, my build was a dark-themed Nineball build. Because this was the ending that made me into a monster anyway, I figured it was fitting.
They should add this as a setting in PvP. I can picture it as a sudden death mechanic, instead of an instant match end it gives everyone infinite EN and your AP depletes over time.
I didn’t even think of this on my first play through, definitely doing it on ng+ cause this looks badass
I have always wanted to see this kind of glorious gameplay and respect that our buddy deserve, not some brainless double shotty and needle
My only complaint is that they should have given rusty a full bar when the terminal armor popped.
I believed they've put the half bar to represent his willpower.. Fromsoft usually add drama in all the details!
Reminds me of Aerial from witch of mercury. So many funnels.
めっちゃかっこいい!まさにこの戦いを見たかった!ありがとう!
i still wish this game had diff Cooldown for each boosters so you can do chainboosts like For answer
edit: adding this in. In 4th gen(which includes AC4 and AC4A) your AC has 3 seperate boosters categories . One main booster, one back booster and side boosters, and each of those has an different cooldown for QB and even different stat. That means when you boost for example forward that
means your main booster is on cooldown, in that time you can boost to the sides and by that time the main booster is back online. Based on that you can effectively chain them together making your AC very quick even without second staging. AC6 DOES NOT HAVE THIS SYSTEM. Main/sides/back boosters are all merged into one category of booster set and when you qb in any direction ALL OF THEM are going into cooldown
it literally does, each booster has a unique QB recharge time, thrust, and thrust duration, also different drain on QB
you just need to find one that works the way you want it to.
@@IRUKANJI this is my bad for fucking up the explanation so let me do it again. In 4th gen(which includes AC4 and AC4A) your AC has 3 seperate boosters categories . my brother in christ i am 50 hours into the game. The closest thing we have in this fucking game to 4th gen Chain boost is melee canceling since there’s only one booster and there’s a very clear booster startup and cooldown like how it was in 5th gen@awhellnah__
PLEASE READ BOTH OF MY REPLIES
Yeah no I'm good on that. That can stay in 4answer lol.
After completing ng++ this is still my favorite fight. Unlimited boost made it so fun.
Shit got me feeling like a giggling schoolgirl saying shit like "kakoii"
Nice AC design. Great color scheme, it goes with the body and shoulder weapons well.
I didn't realize you could bring to such level of badassery. I guess i'll have to play this mission again
If I had a nickle for every ally turned enemy that: Called you Buddy, challenged your philsophies and reason for fighting, joined a wacky resistance group that protested overarching military intervention in their homeland, and had an overall enjoyable bossfight that remains one of the more notable sections of their source game, I would have two nickles; which isn't a lot but it's weird that it has happened twice.
This is the legendary atmosphere re-entry gundam fight scene
Gundam Color Scheme, Epic Anime Protag Theme Song, Unlimited Energy, Extreme Speed and Dodges. Yep this is the Gundam game fans have been asking for since Ace Combat.
So the devs wanted us to bring our NEXTs? Damn didn't realize.
HOLY SHIT RUINER
This fight is so epic even the scripted events are epic. Like when he first Assualt Boosts towards you...he doesn't change his trajectory and crashes straight into you and the slomo camera happens...
Even the script knows that this fight should be hype.
The soundtrack hits so hard in this mission
This game is so good
All of the devs involved did a fantastic job
The only fight I actually wanted to lose in a game.
They were begging us to replicate the Char vs Amuro fight.
They cooked hard in here
I kept flying forever but only in the floor unfortunatly
Honestly how Rusty still calls you buddy makes this fight harder.
"do him a favor tourist... and remember him." oh god i wanna cry just from remembering it
I kinda wish they add this as a area for pvp just for fun. Still I really happy with what we get.
I loved this mission. Made me feel like a LYNX again.
coral really is just rebooted kojima
Unlimited energy due to the coral in the air means it is meant for an epic battle in the sky, it is amazing
Any ending that makes me kill my buddy is a bad ending in my book 😭
Deep down I'll believe the canon ending for this route is that Rusty won, Ayre blew up the ship with her beam, and it was a happy end. lol
Well considering this is the genocide route I would definitely say this the bad ending
Allmind: The most prominent obstacles to the prime directive have been removed and the coral is safe, excellent.
Probablity of another corporate entity arriving on Rubicon after news of recent events have disseminated to neighboring systems calculated to be 81%.
The opportunity will prove to be too significant to ignore, even more so with the present competition removed. New arrivals will make covert operations a simple ordeal.
There is no need to rush things.
*Our evoltuion is at hand...*
@@thecyanpanda241this is sadly the best ending. There are no good endings in Fromsoftware games. The other two ending has you:
1) Destroy Xylem, therefore guaranteeing Coral Release and dooming the entire galaxy to Coral exploitation, with Ayre only giving you a pat in the back with zero solutions as to how to stop it.
Or
2) Merge the entirety of humanity with Coral, an alien hivemind, basically guaranteeing a transhumanist nightmare.
There are no good endings.
@spinyslasher6586 I never said the others were good endings, I just said that nuking pretty much the entirety of the sector around Rubicon is definitely the worst one
I feel like coral release is definitely not the best ending overall but it would probably be better than the true ending and the genocide one
The raw emotion this game gives is why AC6 is my favorite game of all time.
Just a big 'ol Gundam Fight. Ready? Go!
Damn that was a fun mission
Remember guys to start off with a clash by exchanging assault boost into each other with Rusty
I totally forgot that this part would have unlimited boost. I thought that was just for the war fleet part.
Wish there pvp stage with this kind of condition.
your journey ends here buddy- the skies belong to me
When Rusty revives at 0:54 is such a baller moment. Especially if it coincides with the lyrics. This is the best fight in the game to me, bar none.
Best For Answer mission 😎👍🐦⬛🔥
Honestly i hope if they do plan to make a dlc and that the liberator ending is the canon ending so we can see rusty again
Giving a mission with infinite fuel was just the sweetest kiss to the players.
Strong NEXT battle here. Man I miss those days.
bro, this fight was such a slugfest for me since I'm also a lightweight melee user. it was legendary
Broooo that's fucking siiiicckkkk
Honestly they should update a PVP mode like this, im sure we will enjoy this mode.
Reminds me of a gundam fight between 2 bestfriends that are also both top pilots of 2 rival factions..
Damn this is epic
Having unlimited energy was the best moment in the entire game for me
Could you share your AC's code? I really want to make my look like Exia/00 as well.
Mine is based on some ones that I found on the ac6-companion site: PC codes for those are VJDZ4DR89JFA and 4L3RT23JYVU6. If you want to edit weapons make sure you open the build in the "PAINT" option first, unlock the editing, then back out and choose "Discard Changes" to keep the paintjob. That's what I ended up doing.
Idea: make this map along with the infinite energy a pvp map. And its the only map that does this.
This video bring the Lynx in me.
I took AC4 for granted.
I forget about this fight having the unlimited EN sometimes. Really gotta play this fight with NEXT mod so i can zoom and fly with best buddy
What make this fight interest is that you can literally use any booster that you want, especially the kind of boosters that allow to quick boost really fast cause fuck it *UNLIMITED POWER* without the need to managed the energy while dodging
Rusty is like that no name stark jegan pilot going up against kshatriya in episode 1. Valiant effort but gets put down by hax.
me watching "Dueling Rusty the way the Devs wanted us to"
also me: assault boost kick, double zimmermans, double thunder needles
oh heck yeah! Strike freedom~
This level gave me Sonic 2/3 secret end level vibes and I love it!
its looks like a gundam damn i should have done that.
If this was an Anime, Rusty is like your war buddy who supported you from the start whatever you did. In the end you will need to kill each other which makes it hit hard.
...goddamn, I wish I thought of this! I honestly never really thought too hard about the unlimited energy thing! Guess I'm making a Char Aznable build and running Breach the Karman Line again!
I did something like this thank to this video a few hours ago, it was superb.
All you need is TM Revolution music and this could pass for a Gundam Seed game. He even uses DRAGOONs just like Strike Freedom.
In the words of uncle flatwell: “you know Rusty….you sorta jumped to conclusions really fast.”
God those funnel weapons carried me through 3 playthroughs
"ONLY I CAN FLY HIGH ENOUGH"
Just stop for a moment. Listen to that music. Try not to cry.
*…Cry a lot…*
Oof. All those misses hurt my soul
