Betty Ong of Flight11 was extremely professional and brave right up until the end! Makes me so angry to know that her and the other innocents on board perished in the acts of evil. May they rest in eternal peace 🙏🏼
Absolutely! I couldn't imagine 💔 Every man and woman 👫 that had the horrific decisions that they saw no way out and only wanted to live were forced to choose how they would die " and they were it was either fire, smoke and I wonder if they even knew that the buildings were going to implode. Every precious soul that I saw jump I screamed " Oh my God, Jesus catch their souls I'm like you are still very angry and I have a fear " which is inevitable because of our open borders. How could all branches of Government Allow that to happen? America 🇺🇸 said Never Again and Never Forget 😢 They aren't serious about security and honestly it is a slap in the face of those who were murdered, their families, and the first responders that are dying because of the air they breathe trying to find survivors. Such a betrayal for the 9/11 and never forgetting 😪 😭💔

I remember this horrible day. In Germany it was afternoon, when AA 11 crashed in the WTC. I was in the city and noticed the Breaking News shown on TV in a showcase. My first thought was: Holy f... what a terrible movie. Then I realized, that it was real. More and more people watched it in shock. The whole city stopped. People left cars, buses and metros to talk about the incredible pictures. Nobody was able to move, many were crying. To see the people jumping was the most traumatic moment for me. 23 years later the memory comes back and I'm still crying.
I can. non of the Federal agencies, CIA,NSA,FBI would share information of a possible terrorist attack and the cockpit doors were never replaced as asked by the IDF out of Isreal.
R.I.P Peter Gay of Taunton, Massachusetts. He was a lawyer and was going on a business trip that morning. He boarded flight 11 at Logan airport in Boston and was headed to L.A. It was the first plane to get hijacked and first to crash. I don't think they've found his remains
@@CIeaner23Are you serious? This person is likely honoring someone they knew personally. And even if they didn’t, that shouldn’t matter. Absolutely nothing wrong with mentioning one person and one person only. Of course it’s understood that everyone, yes everyone, is honored. But you don’t have to be a jerk with your ridiculous all caps post trying to make this person feel bad.
9/11 is and always will be my brother’s birthday. 2.5 weeks from my niece’s birth. My uncle was 45 minutes late to work at the Pentagon…saving his life. He lost 3 co-workers. They were at a meeting on the first floor…the plane impacted where the meeting was. One of his coworkers is among the never identified. I know a WTC2 survivor. I know 2 others who lost loved ones…one was on flight 93 the other a firefighter. A day of mixed emotions for me and my family.
My cousin worked in the Pentagon and her dentist rescheduled a previously scheduled appt for 9/11, subsequently causing her to take that day off. I remember my family being terrified not knowing if she had been hurt or not. RIP to all the lives lost
It's absolutely terrifying to think that the last real transmission from American 11 was actually when they entered the cockpit and right before they died... I am so sorry for their families...
I was in my early 20s, just starting my adult life. It feels like my entire future changed for the worst that day. People that didn't experience life in America prior to 9/11 don't know how good we could still have it. Everything changed....Everything
The day Innocence died in the world I knew it… life had been hopeful, full of joy and possibilities, until pure vile evil opened its mouth and devoured all that was good in the world. We have only witnessed the aftermath of this tragedy, still, to this day innocent people still dying because of the evil that was unleashed upon us that day. The responsible evil ones that had 10 years after the first trial, planned, payed and executed it perfectly knowing what the outcome of their crimes were going to do to the country and the world. They did it, the whole world changed forever, we have never been able to recover from it.
Thank you for helping America remember what happened that horrible day. Have heard younger generation actually makes jokes about it. We must never forget.
Dark and edgy 9/11 jokes have been getting made since at least the late 2000s… it’s not new by any means. People used to post on forums asking people to look at their cute cat or dog, but when people clicked on the image link it was an image of the burning towers. Then there’s the “jet fuel can’t melt steel dreams” crowd. It seems like there’s some type of news media pushing this narrative now by how many times I keep seeing this sort of comment lately. Interesting.
@@TitaniumTurbineI’ve noticed in the last 2-3 years a major push from people encouraging people to stop talking about 9/11, let it go, it was a long time ago, more people died in such and such other events, America had it coming, etc. On top of everything else crumbling in society? We are headed for disaster.
I was 11 at the time, and I'm glad it's not just me who has this feeling. It's like the summer of '01 was the last of an age of innocence. You had to live it to experience it, but the whole world changed that day. And it hasn't been the same since.
Same but about 15... I felt the tragedy so deeply instantly felt unsafe and confused all at the same time. Something about when the towers fall I think that's the changing moment in the world.
It’s certainly frustrating listening to all the casual telephone banter but let’s remember that no one ever experienced anything like that before and it was virtually unbelievable that it was happening in real time. Not much you could do in those very fast minutes prior to crashing.
@@jimmymcjimmy9743 You're not responsible for being crazy, Jimmy, but try to grasp just how disrespectful and upsetting your insanity is to grieving families. We know the men who hijacked the planes. You can find out all about them and how they did this. There are plenty of valid reasons for hating the government, but this ain't one. Respect the dead for Christ's sake. Don't absolve the terrorists of what they did or you're as bad as Ilhan Omar and any other traitor to this nation.
I can't help but feel like someone should have thought: "This hijacked plane that is heading for New York might be a kamikaze mission. Maybe the tall buildings should be evacuated". I know, hindsight. Beyond their pay grade. The problem was that no one - FBI, CIA, - were able to put themselves into the mindset of the terrorists.
I'm not going to lie, but this video gave me chills all over my body. A minute by minute from American 11. Wow, my deepest condolences to everyone affected by this tragedy. I mean we all were, but to the people that lived it and survived. It's unimaginable. I like most of us saw through the news, because I was working in New Brunswick, NJ at the time. I still remember when I got home around lunchtime. I saw the smoke coming from ground zero pass my town over 30 miles south. Thank you for a very well made video of the flight. 👍👍👍
two occasions I was transfixed with disbelief by the tv - one was Princess Diana's death, the other was this terrible happening - sat there with my mouth open, staring at the telly.
I went to school near Albany and we had 1st period gym class. Around 820-825 I saw a plane in the sky, clear as day and have always wondered if this was it.
Ngl im glad my parents didn’t show me the full live broadcast of the Twin Towers collapsing. I was 4 at the time, and thought it was a movie. Only saw it for few minutes. After that, never knew about the WTC again until 10 years later in Jr. High School. My childhood would truly have ended for me had I seen it all.
Do you not mean American Government used it as an excuse to invade two countries and destabilize a whole region. Americans never deserved what happened that day but the world had been getting terrorised for over 50 years before this especially Europe and Americans funded one of the main players, in the IRA.
I left work after an early shift here in the UK. I only lived 10 minutes from work, I started to drive but had to pulled over when the devastating news broke on the radio. I switched the TV on when I arrived home, I just sat open mouthed as the 2nd jet tore into the North Tower. We had continuous live coverage all afternoon and I sat in utter shock watching it for what must've been 5 hours or more. Watching a live feed showing those poor people forced to jump is something that will stick with me forever. It gave me a new perspective that has stuck with me ever since.
Uk here too. I can remember having a day off work, watching a Tv program and screen went black and Tv newsreaders came on saying live to America, 1st it was 1 tower hit, the hints of hijacker’s planes, the 2nd plane hit tower, and the rest happened, towers collapsed . It was awful. Seeing the people waving for help, jumping, falling, and everyone being helpless . Emergency services literally walking up to Their deaths, never to come back down. Awful.
It amazes me that people still believe what they’ve been told about what and how things happened that day. Most people would not be able to handle the true evil that occurred that day. They can only accept the watered down version of evil. However when they do “see it”, it’s not chills that they will experience… it’s heart attacks. That day was meant to happen to bring us to where we are today, but more significantly to what’s coming in the very near future . Most wont see it coming as they didn’t see it coming back then
Thought our son was in one of the Towers. He wasn’t. An older woman at church on Sunday ask if he could help her get ready to plant some shrubs. We finally got through to our daughter in law’s parents who said they knew he was not in The City. In the spring he and his wife decided to go to Ground Zero. First thing when they got there someone came up to them selling pictures of the people jumping. He turned leaving. It would be 10 years before he would go back though he lived in NYC by then. We still grieve for all those lost that day.
I was an executive that logged 60K air miles that year alone and can tell you Logan ATC and security was the worst which is why they were targeted by the terrorists. I had landed 12 hrs prior in NOLA. The command line and comm on the lines was a total fail.
They chose an east to west coast flight, so the plane will be at its maximum in terms of jet fuel. The 2 planes, 😊flight 77 and flight 93, departed from Neward and Dulles.
poor Betty, having to contend with a terrible situation on her plane, but also trying to communicate with the assortment of witless wonders on the ground. a bunch of sloths would've responded with a greater sense of urgency. it's often forgotten that there just so happened to be "drill" going on that day - hence someone asking if this was "real world". they sure seemed to be acting like they were participating in a drill. "anyone know what that smoke is in Lower Manhattan?" 😑
Wow, it was so much confusion between all the air traffic controllers and other agency’s. Complete chaos. I know they practice tests of how to handle hijackings like this but no amount of practice could have prepared any of them for the magnitude of the events. Also they have to go through way too many phone calls and different people. You hang up and get connected to someone and then so and so on. You can tell some of them just didn’t really know how to handle the situation. Couldn’t even imagine having that job.
I was on a plane from London to Rome when the first plane hit. The Italian Police were on high alert and we were ushered off the plane out of the airport by the Caribinieri carrying sub machine guns. We had no idea what had happened at that point and assumed it was a terrorist incident in Rome. It was only when we got to the house and put the tv on that we saw the news from NY. It was about 5 mins before the second plane hit the Towers
I'm guessing the reason they were unresponsive and continued straight on for so long was to give time to the other flights to get in the air before grounding commands. Knowing what happens now it's so frustrating that jets weren't scrambled sooner and things were more speedy.
Because of ‘us’? Err no there’s only one group of people who commit these acts and we all know which one it is. The problem is the west is just welcoming all these types into our country with no border control, no ID’s or background checks - all in the name of woke. Something awful is going to happen before long I just know it. And our government (England for me) is doing absolutely nothing to prevent it and is doing everything it can to squash any concerns from the public. Disaster waiting to happen.
There were plenty of cams that day, recording footage of the events. But only one or two that managed to record footage of the first plane hitting the north tower.
I just hope that we have learned from this and new fastersteps are in place. I can never forget. Teach your children. Yes, the world was forever changed.
I was 22 at the time, and was in the UK. I can remember our TV stations turning black and then news readers saying “going live to America, twin tower hit” then it was 2nd tower hit, hijacked planes elsewhere, and then the towers came down. I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t move out of my chair for hours, I was so taken in by the live coverage. Seeing the people covered in dust, the smoke, papers, just awful. Knowing all the emergency services had gone up, and they wouldn’t be coming back down. The jumpers, were heartbreaking. The workers waving out of windows for help, knowing deep down help couldn’t reach them. 😢 😢 I think as a nation, worldwide, everyone’s hearts were with America that day.
When I watch simulations like these I feel I get a better sense of how difficult it would've been for these amateur aviators to navigate the aircraft to Manhattan and successfully hit their target.
.You are going to tell me that Apple makes a chip that can track a package anywhere to it's exact location but a multi billion dollars Airline industry could not put embedded trackers on planes so that if hijacked those trackers are still sending a signal to the airline controllers ?? That bullshlt. When the first plane hit Ground Zero (American 11) the air control center and the military were still talking about how to send military help. They just were NOT prepared to do this right. They wasted time from 813 when the plane was hijacked to 846. That is 33 minutes wasted where the military could have intercepted and at least the people in the World Trade Center could have all been saved even if it meant shooting down the plane over a less populated area. But, these people all dropped the ball. Respect to that flight attendant Betty Ong. She was the only one even caring at this point. She was giving a bunch of information and these air controllers and even the military guy when he got on the line at the end took his sweet time to ask too many questions instead of immediately deploying the jets. This was a complete break down on the side of the Airline industry and military.
YES, I concur 1,000% but hindsight is almost always 20/20...now, government and military intelligence are trying to find ways and use their resources to prevent future attacks...not giving a pass to them but even Osama Bin Laden was rumored to have been shocked/surprised himself that the Twin Towers both fell because that wasn't part of the original terrorist plan
If the ATC had just taken the flight attendant seriously from the beginning…. definitely was very condescending to what he appeared to think of as “the upset woman”, if this is real audio.
That’s not exactly fair. There was protocol and training for hijacks. Stay calm keep people on the plane calm to relay info and make sure they shut up and listen to the hijackers. They’d eventually land and make their demands with most people being totally fine. This was a long haul flight with tons of fuel in their mind there was ample time to calm Betty down to get useful information and help keep people safe while waiting for the plane to land. Of course they couldn’t predict these guys would do something never expected. I don’t hear him being condescending either just making sure he gets the proper info to pass on and ensure the proper officials are notified
I clearly remember that day. Here in Denmark it was in the afternoon. I was at a friend doing som floor work. He came yelling COME AND LOOK WHAT’S HAPPENING IN NEW YORK!! At first I thought it was a movie he had put on. Then we saw people jumping into their death. Horrible, just horrible. Will never forget it 😢
Brilliant portrayal of the what happened that day which I will never forget and it still has a huge impact on me as I stood and watched these awful scenes on the tv here I still get emotional watching things like this regarding 9/11 😢
i agree with you 100 procent i placed a comment somewhere in which i said zero action but endless talking, sometimes i wonder if this could be possible nowadays communacating wise i mean of course
This is a good example of hindsight. That day, no one had any idea what was going on. It was not clear until the second plane struck WTC2 that people were aware of what was actually going on - even then it wasn’t known that there would be more planes/targets. This hadn’t been an anticipated event. Hijackings, up until this point, usually ended with the plane landing, not being flown into a building. See, because you know what’s going to happen, you can look back on this with the “shoulda, woulda, coulda” mindset but if you can recognize that aspect, then you can understand the actions on that fateful day.
@@TitaniumTurbine You're absolutely right, it was historic. But it's not like we didn't have terrorism before this. There were embassy sieges in London, mass killing in Munich,. the IRA car bombs, other Islamic attacks on buildings, and many many many reports of threats of hijacked airplines that were ignored. I don't know it's just frustrating. I get it hadn't happened before, but after like 10 mins of not hearing form the pilot, hearing the attacks onboard, and then the plane heading off track, they should have done something. It was obviously protocol because they did scramble the jets, it was just far far far too late.
Some of these comments with the benefit of hindsight are so frustrating America hadn’t had an air hijacking in more than ten years And a hijacking that ends with plowing into a building had never happened, anywhere!! Please stop asking them to realize the full truth before the first plane hits-it was literally an unheard of concept
I remember this day way to clearly, I also remember the day president Kennedy was assassinated. I was in 4th grade and it was raining in Illinois where I lived. I remember 9/11 to well because I just pulled into a gas station in Red Lake Falls MN as it came on the radio. There's other sad memories too you get a collection of those when you are in your 70's.
ITS TRULY A DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN InfimyGOD BLESS US ALL ...TO THE ONES WE LOST AND ARE ALIVE ,Let's all remember the ones who suffered and died ,so it wasn't in vain they deserve us all to remember their absolute horrible fate that was endured and inevitable to end and honor their memory by commiting to live each day as if it were the last truer words were never spoken ... Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou ,it's just not a big enough word for how big of a tragedy it was,and what I remember about that day was absolute fear and panic,so imagine the fear and panic of nowhere to go but down for what?, ,so the very least we can do is remember and honor them l will always remember to look to the skys and say a little prayer for the ones who couldn't choose anymore in those planes or in those buildings, to look up anymore as there last fateful expirence was falling down, never to get up again,so let's not just take things in life for granted or the people in it that mean the most, you never can know about today or after, may God bless our people and our country!
I was living in Sydney at the time of the 911 attacks and what really Scared me was that Some of my friends had flown by Plane to Disneyland And were due to fly back home to Australia, Because of what had happened on that dreadful day Most or all flights were cancelled Thankfully My friends did Come back Safely But I felt So Terribly Sad for the people who didn't make it back home not only because they were on the hijacked Planes but there were People also trapped In the Two Twin Towers which Collapsed after ( I think two) of the Hijacked Planes Slammed Into the Towers 😢😢😢
I really hope there won’t be another attack like this in my lifetime or ever. I was 7 years old when this happened. You would think the first attack in 1993 the bomb underneath the trade center by the same race of people should’ve been checked on the plane before they even got on. What was security thinking at the airport??? Wish this never happened.
What’s hard to understand about it though? The doors were far different then. The doors were flimsy and if someone with bad intent told the flight attendant to “open the door” they would without pause. While hijackings happened prior to this, they were rare and didn’t involve flying the planes into buildings or disabling the flight crew like this.
You take an FA at knifepoint or kick in the door. Not exactly difficult they literally had muscle hijackers for that specific purpose and doors were hella flimsy that’s why there so reinforced now
Interesting point; the fighter pilots they scrambled didn’t have any ordnance on board and they had decided that they would ram the planes if they were able to intercept them. The planes impacted the WTC before they were able to find them.,
Why were these men allowed to board a plane with knives? It's so shocking to hear the transmission between traffic controllers, seemingly non directional with no standard protocol to deal with a situation as such collectively.
Even more amazing, was how the hijackers managed to control the plane, successfully decend and steer it into one of the twin towers with a direct hit. I suspect we only know a fraction of what transpired and events leading up to. A disaster that should never have been allowed to occur.
Mike - respectfully - Look at my other comments here ( Newest First ) The whole day carefully planned by those we are supposed to trust. No Arabs anywhere near - The supposed " hi jackers " voices pre recorded ( actually incorrect arabic accents ) . Most aircraft fitted with Flight Termination systems - control from below in the case of a REAL hi-jacking . Drone remote control was known at the time ( and certainly by the Military ) get the picture yet ??? Ask if you need more - We have easily pages and pages of far too many " strange coincidences " which taken together explain the whole day... ( and still being covered up ) ie this type of emotional Vid absolutely encouraged - but informative ones from 10 - 15 years ago mysteriously " disappeared "
Mike - Military Exercises / War Games arranged fort he SAME DAY - how convenient ?? as a cover up for the Gov - C - I..... A devious Plan .. Deliberately to stir up anti arab feelings - and justify the massive expense of going to war in those places ( and large profits for the arms manufacturers ) Do Not accept the official fairy story.
It was common you were allowed to have a blade up to a certain length. They were actually pulled for extra screening but met all the safety requirements. As for everything else hijacking’s were common prior to this and protocol/training was very different. You got all the info you could while encouraging everyone to shut up sit down and go with hijackers demands. They’d eventually land and make demands and everyone would likely survive besides one or two people who may be made an example of. In recordings form ATC on 11 you hear them musing where they’ll land some thinking Cuba. That’s also why atta says they’re going back to the airport and not to make sudden moves. No one could’ve known to expect a whole differnt sort of motivation for this hijacking or how to respond
If all this timeline and talks are accurate, most of the people doesn't believe anything. They must talk at least 20 minutes. Unbelievable. I could understand that if transponder is shut down ATC can't follow it, but i don't believe that AA HQ understand what their own personel told them and same with military. They just think it was a test. Unbelievable. Of course, everything it easy to say afterwards. But AA and military had all the necessary information to do something at once.
You e got to remember- this type of hijacking - with a crash into a building had NEVER happened before You’re asking them to guess at an outcome that had never happened- and do it within 30 minutes
@@tylerjerabek5204 take your point but even when he tells her we got a hijacked plane heading for the New York metro area we need to scramble some F16's she's like, let me ask you a question. How many people are on board. Once we've been through all my questions I might think about the F16 thing you mentioned.
I’m tired of repeatedly replying so for the last time: obviously the video title is not meant to be taken LITERALLY 🙄. If you were an adult on 9/11 then you understand that life AS WE KNEW IT, at least in the US, Canada, Britain and I’m sure much of the rest of the West, changed forever that day. Something was lost that has never been regained because of the unimaginable slaughter of so many average people in such a horrible fashion, in a place where they should’ve been safe. I believe that is what is being implied by the title - Our feeling, our impression, that the world had ended.
@@julitt4317 We may have carried on, but any person with a hint of empathy, compassion and caring nature, would have, and DID, feel, and share their pain. It was an awful tragedy. If it were a natural disaster, it would have been bad enough. But, it was planned, and plotted by monsters , who took the innocent out with them. Leaving families in despair. The effects of what happened that day, didn’t just include losing loved ones, it kept filtering down into everyday life, bills, mortgages, financial problems, and more. Anyone from ANY country would have been upset for the people of America that day, surely?
We had educated them ourselves as pilots right here in the US! The teachers had wondered why they were not interested in learning to take-off or land a plane, only in flying it!
Sorry but those supposed highjackers. We're taught on little cesna planes in Florida. The instructor even said they failed . If they couldn't fly a little plane than there's no way they flew a jumbo jet 500 into a building. Experienced pilots could not even do it after a 100 times in a simulator
Okay at 18sec I don't know if this one's any good but I Just saw a 911Doc that wasn't too patriotic and too drippy that had a sufficient degree of computer graphics & engineering as well as interviews. It's taken 24 years for good docs like that one to finally come out.
The jets weren’t physically over NYC until after WTC2 was struck. In Washington D.C, the fighter jets there were not equipped with munitions and so their intentions were to ram/fly into United 93 but it never made it there since it crashed. There’s also the issue of following rules of engagement, which had not been cleared until well after United 175 crashed anyways.

The day Innocence died in the world I knew it… life had been hopeful, full of joy and possibilities, until pure vile evil opened its mouth and devoured all that was good in the world. They did it, the whole world changed forever, we have never been able to recover from it.

Dark and edgy 9/11 jokes have been getting made since at least the late 2000s… it’s not new by any means.
I watched the second plane hit live on TV too. They wheeled the TV into my geography class in high school after the first plane hit.
Uk here too. Most wont see it coming as they didn’t see it coming back then
Was in high school watching it live. I remember saying “well guess we’re going to war”

Presumably air force emergency scrambling communications has improved as a result of this.

Exactly.
The flight attendants called their airline operation center who, like atc, couldn’t believe what was going on and nobody knew how it would end

Its still hard to understand how they managed to get into 4 cockpits. I know, the doors were different but still is hard to understand.
The planes impacted the WTC before they were able to find them.,
Very interesting step by step video thank you

Why were these men allowed to board a plane with knives?
It's so shocking to hear the transmission between traffic controllers, seemingly non directional with no standard protocol to deal with a situation as such collectively.
Even more amazing, was how the hijackers managed to control the plane, successfully decend and steer it into one of the twin towers with a direct hit.
I suspect we only know a fraction of what transpired and events leading up to.

Sorry but those supposed highjackers. We're taught on little cesna planes in Florida. The instructor even said they failed . If they couldn't fly a little plane than there's no way they flew a jumbo jet 500 into a building. Experienced pilots could not even do it after a 100 times in a simulator
@@coffman223 Inside job?
Okay at 18sec I don't know if this one's any good but I Just saw a 911Doc that wasn't too patriotic and too drippy that had a sufficient degree of computer graphics & engineering as well as interviews. It's taken 24 years for good docs like that one to finally come out.
Some of you are very smart...in hindsight.
So if they scrambled F15 why didn't it blow the second plane out of the sky?
The jets weren’t physically over NYC until after WTC2 was struck. In Washington D.C, the fighter jets there were not equipped with munitions and so their intentions were to ram/fly into United 93 but it never made it there since it crashed. There’s also the issue of following rules of engagement, which had not been cleared until well after United 175 crashed anyways.
What a shockingly slow and poor response from the authorities here
I was 8months pregnant when this tragedy occurred, I witnessed both planes strike the twin towers it was tragic 😢 I will never forget it’s etched into my memory 🤦🏽♀️🙏🏽
Спасибо большое!
“I think we might have lost her” 😔
The same thing happened to united 175
How did the world end? I'm still here so is my country and many other countries.
They had over a half hour from the time they found out it was hijacked?? Incompetence
What were they to do -- shoot down a civilian plane?
Yes@@jnagarya519
Not at all.. This was a new concept. It's easy to say it knowing what happened
