    Amazing video, I love it! I just wanted to add that some chameleons take years to build trust, and some never do, either. I’d also recommend to wait at least a couple of months before trying to handle a new cham, while also remembering that some will never get used to it and will have to be treated like a fish, look, but don’t touch. Also, depending on the age, gender, and species of chameleon, it changes the amount of food, size of food, and how often you give food to them!

    This is so helpful. I brought home a chamelion and thought i had asked all the right questions before purchasing, but after this i am realizing i have been stressing my baby out. Today is his third day in our house, so i am just going to leave him alone now 💖. All this info was SO helpful!! We have quite few other reptiles and I felt like I was experienced enough to care for this guy, but i am so glad I found your youtube channel!

    Great video. I’m on day 3 of having my new baby chameleon home and you’re right, it’s so hard to leave them alone but I know it’ll be worth it.

    Always refreshing to get insightful information like this and you are correct with hand feeding. I have gotten to the point where I can place a super worm on spoon and get really close where she does not walk away but I’m tact comes towards me. Can’t wait to see Baloo in his new home when he is fully adjusted!?

    When I built my chameleon cage I gave him 5 feet by 3 feet then built a 2 foot draw that attached to the bottom of the cage... So he's about 7 feet high...

    New subscriber. Do you live in Florida & make house calls? We live in Citrus County and bought 2 vailed chameleons ( male & Female) for our sons but we can’t to keep them on our patio as much as possible. Is it easier to keep them outside? In need of assistance. Thank you

    I'm making a backdrop for my chameleon...I'm using the foam stuff...what substrate should I adhere to it? Pet shop is saying cocofiber, but then I heard not to use that in a cham cage...HELP

    • @reptiliangarden
      @reptiliangarden  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s fine to use for a background! I personally like the joshsfrogs biobedding because different things are mixed in it for texture, but you can use coco fiber too!

    My chameleon ( 6 months old ) has a weired bump on his nose and it is white. Can anyone tell me what that is? And if it is sick what to do.

    • @reptiliangarden
      @reptiliangarden  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Absolutely see a vet right away. Only they can figure out what it could be and it’s best to treat as soon as you can.
